Italian fusion with vegan options - Edit
Have some great vegan takes on Italian classics like pizza and lasagne. A bit on the expensive side.

Always good - Edit
Zizzis chain is always great for vegan options. Their rainbow lasagne is absolutely delicious and the only thing I order there!

Cute location - Edit
Visited this zizzi on several occasions, can rely on it for an easy vegan choice as there are many options on the menu. Quaint little building and right in the city centre.

Just like any other Zizi - Edit
Great food, lots of options, separate vegan menu, vegan wine. Can’t complain, but also nothing special. Great staff team and good value

Excellent vegan menu - Edit
Food was delicious and the vegan menu is excellent - lots of choice. Will definitely visit again. Prices reasonable and staff friendly. Had the zucca pizza - butternut squash, caramilised onion and vegam mozzarella (the mozza was lovely!)

Delicious pizza and garlic bread - Edit
We were very impressed to see that this place had a dedicated vegan menu. You dont get that often in a non-vegan place. They had good vegan options for pizza, pasta, starters and dessert. We had the Rustica Vegan Zucca pizza and the garlic bread and both were delicious! Good sized servings and good flavours. Staff were also very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend coming here.

Nice restaurant and location - Edit
Very nice branch of the Zizzi brand in a nice part of the city with splendid views of the river on the lower level of the restaurant. As always the vegan menu provides great choice and our pasta and pizza dishes did not disappoint.

University Challenge - Edit
Nice location on the steep section of Saddler Street leading up to the cathedral. Very popular with uni students and their parents. Durham students tend to have money to dine out, unlike in my student days where restaurant dining was rare to non-existent. The vegan options here, just as at any other Zizzi, are excellent including a bruschetta and garlic bread. I always do like a garlic bread as my 'Starter for 10'. As well as pizza they also have a couple of pasta dishes such as the lentil ragout and classic spaghetti pomodoro. Always a winner and extremely tasty if done correctly, which it was today. It accompanied the pepperonata pizza (with smokey chilli base for an extra £1) perfectly. The interior is pleasant and rustic, but the big windows do lead to some exposure to anyone walking past as you sit and have your meal. Next time a seat overlooking the river downstairs would be my preferred option.

Ask for the vegan menu! - Edit
The menu didn't seem so vegan-friendly until I realised there was a separate menu. Yay! Excellent. Great food too!

Vegans well catered for - Edit
Be sure to ask for the "allergens menu" when you go in. What a delight having pizza with "cheese" on again, they did also have vegan pasta dishes. My plate came with a vegan sticker on. The pizza itself was delicious, with Zizzi's own coconut based cheese on - at first I thought the cheese looked a bit sparse but it was quite rich so was just enough. I also had a dessert calzone with icecream, all vegan. A rare treat which I will definitely be repeating!
