Great choice

Really enjoyed my take away from Zen Buddha, is a little bit expensive but good portion sizes and loved all the options - very tasty!

Delicious food, okay service

So many great options at this restaurant! Extensive menu that offers a variety of items. Not the most authentic place (no chopsticks) but very family friendly. Doesn't get the fifth star because service was slow and one of the servers was quite rude.

Pros: Lots of options

Cons: Slow service

great to have vegan options but junk

It was great to find a vegan restaurant with posters stating the benefits of veganism. I was excited but the food is VERY oily!! we ordered vegan chicken burgers and.chips and nuggets..If you are looking vegan junk food this is the place for you.

Pros: all vegan and encourages veganism, reasonably priced

Cons: oil

Delicious Food, Lacking Service

The food and options here are lovely - not even just standard Asian vegan either. The buffet is fantastic, especially as a cheap, filling lunch.

Loving Hut is let down by it's customer service, which is rushed at best and frequently useless.

Still, as long as you don't mind the lack of service, this is a great place to eat vegan and I return frequently with appropriate expectations.

Pros: taste, choice, variety

Cons: service, buffet often low

Great to fill your "meaty void"

This place is great if you're new to veganism and are missing meat.

The all you can eat buffet is certainly filling.

The desserts aren't the greatest, I had the cheesecake which wasn't great and my boyfriend had the chocolate cake which was very dry.

Go the the menu rather than the buffet....

Very nice, all vegan Chinese restaurant with tons of choice. They used to have a menu where you could eat as much as you liked but needed to order dishes and eat them before ordering more (so reducing waste).

This now seems to have become a buffet. However, the buffet is definitely not as good as the freshly cooked food.

So, if you can go for the menu and order fresh stuff, it's tasty and if you like Chinese you'll not be disappointed. The buffet, while OK, was nowhere near as good.

Pros: All vegan, Freshly cooked food is really nice

Cons: Buffet not so good, You can sometimes wait a while to be served

Good Dim Sum

This Loving Hut is great for its dim sum, which is pretty much all steamed. It's not greasy, and low in oil. We only come here exclusively for the dim sum, and would not eat anything else off the regular menu because everything else is greasy, fried and not healthy.

Pros: good dim sum, friendly staff

Cons: small portions

Not the healthy vegan food you need

If you love Chinese food with all its grease then you'll like the food. I haven't eaten such greasy food in a very long time and I regret paying money for it. Might be a good place for going out with non vegan friends

Pros: You can't tell the food is vegan

Cons: Food is too greasy

Absolutely Brilliant

Can't speak highly enough of this place. I got a takeaway from the buffet and a large box was only £4, excellent value. And the food was gorgeous, proper Chinese takeaway food that you wouldn't know was vegan for the most part

not impressed by all-you-can-eat menu

I went on sat night hoping for all-you-can-eat buffet, alas it is only mon-thu in the evening, my bad! so we had the menu one instead. Some of the appetizers were tasty but the mains were disappointingly blend and too salty. There could be more mock meat styles available too. No desserts included in the menu. Could do much better for the price, to which a 10% service is automatically added, some of the staff was grumpy and not very nice, they repeatedly forgot some of our ordered dishes and were unable to describe items in the menu when asked.

Pros: Some tasty appetizers, Fully vegan

Cons: Too expensive for quality, All-you-can-eat menu not great

A Beautiful Experience

I cannot begin to explain how much I enjoyed my time at Loving Hut. I'd heard so much about it from friends and fellow vegans but had no idea just how delicious it truly would be.

Having both coeliac disease AND a soy allergy, I felt really sad when the waiter told me that there wasn't a single item I could eat on the buffet. Even the vegetables contain soy sauce!

But, rather than turning my business away and leaving me hungry, he had a chat with the chef and they custom made me the most beautiful dish from scratch. It was so unbelievably delicious that words fail me.

Genuinely the best service I've had in a restaurant and by far, the yummiest food!

If you do one thing today, eat here.

Pros: Delicious Food, Accommodating Staff, Great Value

Nice Vegan Place with 2 different buffet options

First pay attendtion to two different buffet options.
1) standard all-you-can-eat buffet(£7-£9): many choises from the ready made dishes on the display counters; 5-6 salads, 12+ cooked dishes, 6 desserts.
2) A-la-carte all-you-can-eat-buffet (£15): extensive choise from the menu, freshly made to order.
My family tried the standard buffet on a Wed Evening. It's good value for vegan meals. Someone who likes veggie meats would surely enjoy their dishes better (10 dishes loaded with veggies meats). But personally I would prefer more dishes made from fresh vegetables (I guess I'd need to chose the a-la-carte option). Friendly service and clean restaurant.

Pros: Friendly staff, Good value, Clean & nice layout

Cons: Not enough fresh veg and fruit, No Allergy Warning List

Pros: vegan buffet !, not expensive for vegan stuff, taste good

Cons: too much similis meat and fish, sometimes too salty

Amazing place, worth the trip :)

Went there one night when it was close to closing time. Despite the longish journey there, I had no regrets. The mock meats are so tasty, with a great variety, plus there's salads and even some dessert included with the buffet. I also ordered a lychee milkshake which tasted like heaven in liquid form! Seriously, try it :)

Had a bit of a chat with the waiter as well, who was very friendly and kept encouraging me to take more food even though they were already packing up :D

The place looks really lovely and the traditional Chinese music is so relaxing ^_^

Only thing, I think the food could be less greasy. I was hungry so I grabbed loads on my plate but after only a few of the deep fried things I was already feeling too full!

Pros: lychee milkshake!, mock meats, atmoshphere

Cons: slightly too greasy

Overpriced for the quality

Perhaps we would have felt differently about the quality of this place had we paid only a few pounds for the buffet. As it was, we paid an extortionate amount for a few dishes from the menu one evening and were extremely disappointed in every one. The 'crispy duck' (which I can make myself to taste exactly like real duck) was like flaky pastry. The food was greasy and salty, which is sometimes what you want from a £6 buffet, but not for what we paid. After being so excited to see such an extensive vegan menu, we felt really let down.

The staff never left us with a moment of peace and also took our order incorrectly. I was embarrassed to have suggested this place to my friend and considering the quality of other vegan food in North London (Karamel!), which provide great food for far less money, there is no reason to settle for this.

loving the hut

I wish living hut would open a restaurant in Scotland. I do love veggie Chinese and the chance to visit loving hut is always a winner for me. This isn't the best branch I've visited but it is very good.

A wide selection of veggie dishes, plenty of mock meat options and all the classic tofu favourites. There is also a large selection if Indian dishes which give you that extra choice.

I had a hot & sour soup which was sharp and tasty. I followed with a spicey mock chicken dish with peppers and dried chillies. It was a tad oily but spicey with plenty of flavour and I needed several glasses of water during the meal.

Overall the bill was about £14 including service charge. The service was excellent and the staff did a fantastic job. In London this is decent value, and although edgeware is at the end on the northern line, it really is worth a visit.

Pros: tasty, selection, staff

Vegan Chinese paradise

This is without a doubt my favourite vegan restaurant in London. The all you can eat buffet they do both lunch and evening (Monday to Thursday only) is a delight. So much choice! 3 different types of rice/ noodles, mock meats (chicken balls, prawn balls etc) spring rolls, curries, soups, black bean and sweet and sour veg chicken and a huge load of veg steamed broccoli and a large selection of salads. It also includes a selection of puddings which vary from cakes and jelly to mango pudding and fruit. All for around £7.90 safe to say every time I go I end up stuffing myself.

They also do an a la carte all you can eat menu with everything made fresh to order. This costs more however you get a larger selection and is available every day.

These two all you can eat options are supplementary to a huge menu which has everything from mock crispy duck and noodles right through to sushi, veggie burgers and vegan fish and chips (which I hear is amazing) There is also fresh fruit juice, smoothies, coffee, tea and milkshakes and their cakes are amazing as well especially their carrot cake.

It's a bit of a long tube journey from Central London but is defiantly worth it,

Do yourself a favour, you won't be disappointed.

Pros: Cheap and delicious , Friendly staff, Extensive menu

Cons: Location is a bit out of the way

Vegan addiction!

Having recently moved close by to Loving hut, I find myself and my fiance drawn in at least once a week for the lunch buffet, for only £5.90 all you can eat, this is a vegan delight. No worrying about if the food contains this or that, all completely vegan and delish!! There is so much choice and often there is different food every other week. Many spring rolls, noodles, mock meats in black bean sauce etc, red thai curry, rice, crispy seaweed, prawn crackers, the list goes on, also included in the buffet is dessert, usually chinese jellys and tiramisu, sometimes a chocolate cake slice and jasmine tea refills to you hearts delight. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere relaxing. I often order home delivery for their burgers and chips, which are like a vegan mcdonalds, but in a good way, delish!! Their evening buffet is £13.99 from the menu where you can order as much as you want from a selected menu, their chicken style balls in batter and satay sticks are particularly good as is the thai green chicken style curry, which was amazing and made with fresh veg. Defo a place to take the family!!

Pros: Large Portions, Great value , Delicious food

Cons: Not good if you on a diet!

Nice, cheap lunch

I work in Edgwaare so was delighted to hear of this place. I went in on my own for lunch in the week which was a real bargain at £5.90.
There were a wide selection of buffet dishes (although too many fried for me to visit often!) with soups and mango pudding for dessert.
It was lovely to eat without having to ask questions and worry about ingredients!

Pros: All vegan, Cheap, Quick

Cons: Too many fried foods
