Love it

I have been at Zeit für Brot in Berlin for the first time and was super excited to hear that one opened in Düsseldorf. The S
shop itself is cozy and smells like heaven, there is seating inside and its suitable for wheelchair users.

They offer usually at least two vegan rolls and a few other pastrys. Most of their bread is vegan as well and they have one or pre-packed sandwiches.

Their apple cinnamon roll and the pumpkin spice roll are to die for, they are buttery and taste super rich. The portions are huge as well.
The chocolate babka is also tasty, but a bit smaller and less filling.

There is usually a line, so prepare to wait a little.

Pros: Taste is heavenly , Sweet and savoury , Good amount of options

Cons: Sold out easily of you come in later , Not super close to the center

A few sweet pastries with yeast dough

Apart from the typical baked goods at a bakery, they have a few vegan sweet pastries, which are at least well labelled. Today there were three sorts to choose from, all with yeast dough and very similar. The apple and almond slice was very fluffy, but the puffy dough is not necessarily what I like. At least they still do their own baking here.

Much needed traditional bakery in that area

Quite pricy but delicious bread and sweet-stuff. Can recommend the tomato Focaccia and Schoko Nuss Baba.

Pros: You can have a look into the bakery itself

Cons: Pricy

traditional bakery with vegan stuff

it's a traditional bakery so they still make the dough by themselves, bake at place etc. ingredients are organic and you can also look at their website to check their vegan options. of course it's more expensive than baked goods from the supermarket but in my opinion still worth the price.

almost all breads are vegan (1 contains honey) and so are the rolls. they have 1 vegan sandwich and also focaccia.
for beverages, you can have oat milk without surcharge and they also have recup to go cups.
however, i have to criticise that many of their sweet options are not vegan even though it would be super easy to replace the non-vegan ingredients. i mean they already have some vegan cinnamon rolls, why not make all without animal products?!

regardless, the schoko-nuss-baba which i tried was delicious, not too sweet but with a nice amount of chocolate. can recommend

Pros: traditional bakery making things themselves, organic, vegan well labelled, nice vegan options, oat milk without surcharge, reusable cups (recup)

Cons: could easily go fully vegan but doesn't
