Vietnamese
Non-veg
Serves meat, vegan options available. Small eatery near the main street in Cat Ba Town whose staff speak English. Has a separate vegetarian section on the menu which is almost entirely vegan. Also other items on the menu happen to be vegan. Relocated from Pho Am Thuc. Open Mon-Sun 7:00am-9:00pm.

Budget veggie vegan options - Edit
Had lunch here and the cute tiny ginger kitten they have drew us in! I asked the lady if the cat was theirs and it was.
Read moreWe had a tofu dish, fresh spring rolls, sweet potato fries noodles and veggies and two beers all for 200K don - they have loads of veggie options and the waiter asked if I wanted egg or not so was switched on in terms of vegan food which is the first time this has happened in Vietnam! Will definitely be back over the next few days

Served me meat after discussing I was vegan. - Edit
I previously gave this restaurant a three star rating for being the best of the worst in Cat Ba but after returning and them putting chicken in the vegetarian noodles I can no longer recommend them to vegetarians and vegans.

Delicious, Cheap, Kind Staff! - Edit
Really lovely restaurant that has an entire page dedicated to vegetarian options, of which most are actually vegan. We stayed at Bao Long Hotel across the street and ate here almost every meal. The pad thai, fried rice noodles, tom yum noodle soup, and fried spring rolls were all delicious and extremely cheap for the Cat Ba area. Highly recommend!

Delicious food - Edit
We came here to enjoy some Vietnamese dishes and it was very good. They make good summer rolls, salads and also some Vietnamese styled Pad Thai. Also, it's really cheap. We'll definitely come back.

Best Veg Find On Cat Ba - Edit
Found this place on the first day and ended up coming back multiple times during my stay.
Read moreThe veggie curry is amazing as well as the fresh spring rolls, pho was good and they use a veggie broth which is hard to find in Vietnam.
Also enjoyed the fruit salad which they can make with coconut milk over it rather than yogurt.
Cat Ba had very limited options in the way of good veg food so I was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem.
Pros: Tasty Food, Good Prices

Didn't like it - Edit
The staff was pretty friendly, but the food was terrible. The vegetables I got were bland and I clearly could taste the fish sauce.

Lovely staff that speak great English! - Edit
This restaurant has an amazing selection of vegetarian food for low prices, of which Cát Bà town seems to overall be lacking. It's a simple, local place but was exactly what we needed.
Read moreThe staff are lovely, speak wonderful English and have a clear grasp of veganism and being careful with food preparation. They had a pumpkin soup on the menu with coconut cream, but were happy to accomodate when we asked if they could add tofu & at no extra cost! We went here for all of our meals when we were in the town after we'd found the place. The papaya salad and their fried spring rolls were particularly delicious.
Pros: Cheap, Lots of vegan food, Great staff
Cons: Serves meat
