Cleansing, With Cheesecake

Billed as a ‘Detox Brunch’, the meal that had here was as close as I think it gets to a vegan buffet in Dubai. With a glut of clearly labelled options, it was so refreshing to have near parity between dishes that were not for those of a plant-based persuasion. From the cauliflower soup and the array of prepared salads, to the ratatouille and the mint & zucchini pilaf, the quality was unquestionable. And while I did relish all these savoury morsels (especially the curry), the absolute pinnacle of this experience was the pastry section. Usually, when it comes to these all-you-can eat affairs, this area is woefully lacking (fruit is not dessert, the phrase I am sure will be emblazoned on my epitaph), but not here. In fact, there were no less than four genuine, bona fide delicacies to choose from. My apologies to anyone else who attended the meal on this day, I wantonly devoured most/nearly all of both the cheesecake and the mixed berries cake; they were both so damn good. Also, as the tiramisu (delicious) and the beetroot vanilla puddings (easily a billion times better than it sounds) came in shot glasses, by the time I had finished, it looked at though a stag do had rolled through restaurant.
I would have readily been prepared to return here solely based on what I had prior to dessert, but those treats made it an absolute must.
