Veggie World Takeaway

After a busy day of travelling I was searching online for a takeaway to my hotel, Veggie World popped up and luckily were still open. Ordered online, delivered quickly and the food was still piping hot. Most of the menu is vegan. I had the fried chick’n rice, tofu skewers with satay and the chick’n balls with sweet and sour sauce. Portions were a good size. 3 1/2 stars.

Comfort food

This is a fantastic take away when you need comfort food! Not high end refined cuisine, but very, very good indeed - never been disappointed and has always arrived piping hot and on time.
Smoked shredded mock chicken
Mushrooms in black bean sauce
Sweet and sour mock prawn balls
Salt and pepper crispy tofu
Chilli mock beef and stir fried broccoli are our favs! Get enough to have for lunch the next day!

Lots of choice

I accidentally came across this place when staying in Kingston and looking for a Chinese takeaway with vegan options. Only found on Just Eats. If you google the address you see it's the same as Panda Garden Twickenham (not vegan). Scroll down on the google entry and you'll see a note from the owner talking about the all-vegan menu. A bit odd. Excellent choice of dishes including lots of mock meats, tofu, mixed veg. Menu is a vegan's paradise. We ordered:
Salt and Pepper Aubergine (£7.50)--Lovely taste. A few very large chunks of ginger mixed within which, unfortunately, looked just like the aubergine and were an unpleasant surprise to bite into. Other than that a nice dish.
Black Bean Sauce with Green Peppers (£7.50)--This can be ordered with your choice of a big list of mock meats (chicken, beef, mutton, prawn, etc.), tofu, mushrooms or mixed veg. We went for the tofu. Very tasty.
Hong Shao Tofu (£7.50)-- Nice dish with a mild sauce, tofu and mixed veg.
Chow Mein (£7.50)-- Again, big choice of main ingredient to add as above. We chose mixed veg. A good amount of veg and flavourful, though more greasy than it needed to be by quite a bit.
Stir Fried with Pineapple--Again, can choose from same list. Chose the mock chicken. The "chicken" was fine--thin slices with meaty, very chewy texture and there was some pineapple and a bit of veg, but it was all sitting in a container full of a sweet, lurid, artificially-red liquid. No other taste--not sweet and sour, just pure sweet. Not for me. Pretty much inedible for me.
Fried rice (£4.80)-- Fine. Quite greasy.

Overall, other than the pineapple dish, the food was good. I'd say it definitely edges towards the too greasy side (the case with all the dishes) but if that was improved this place would be a great addition to the vegan dining in the area.

Pros: Great range of choices, Good amount of main ingredients in each, Nice fresh looking veg

Cons: Too greasy in general, The pineapple stir fry was awful
