I got there 45 minutes before it was due to close and it was already pretty sparse and some stalls were packing up. It was tiny anyway and there were lots of meat, fish and dairy (fair enough - it's not claiming to be veg*n).
I didn't see anything that would make me want to come here. There are a few veg stalls, but not enough to make me go here even if I lived locally.
Pretty small but very decent choice of fruit and vegetables in season. There's a bakery stand too with amazing looking bread. Nice place to pick up some veggies
It's a very small market; smaller than I expected, so it'll only take you a couple of minutes to look around every stall. But the produce on offer was excellent and reasonably priced.
Three or four of the stalls were meat-based, but the remaining 75% or so were either fruits and veg based, or sold breads, cakes, cheeses etc.
As a vegan, I found plenty on offer including vegan muffins and flapjacks, and vegan pasties. These were excellent, but the main appeal was the variety and freshness of all the herbs, veggies and fruits on offer. The smell of all this produce sitting here was delightful, and it was of a very high quality and reasonably priced. Some, if not all of it was organic.
It looked, smelt and tasted fresher and healthier than you'll get in your local Tesco's. And were this market open everyday, I probably wouldn't ever go to a supermarket again.
Only being open for one morning per week is a little restrictive, but if you can make it down here you won't be disappointed.
