Great food great people - Edit
We stopped by for dinner on our way into Baton Rouge and had a great meal in a comfortable setting. Everything prepared was delicious and the folks running the place were so nice we are rooting for their success.

Wonderful find in BR! - Edit
Passing through Baton Rouge on a road trip and found this little gem. Had vegan burgers with grilled onions and their special sauce, sweet potato fries, and topped it off with beignets. It was all fantastic, and I was so excited for the chance to grab some beignets as we passed through Louisiana. Even my non-vegan, 87-year-old mom loved all the food. Would absolutely eat here again if we're passing through in the future.

So amazing!! We got the lasagna special and red beans special and a side of fried okra. Literally everything was so good, so much flavor. Also have tried their seafood potato which is HUGE. Fried fish box bombbbb. Great portion sizes too. Definitely one of my top vegan spots in BR . Love that their menu is always changing so you can try different things.

I got oyster mushrooms and fries. My daughter got chik’n tenders and California medley veggies. It’s only been open for about six weeks so go show them some love!

Louisiana cuisine, veganized, deliciously - Edit
VV is the perfect replacement for VFF which was previously in the same space - it's the same type of cuisine (American Black Southern/soul food), and it's great. For instance, you'll find burgers and a vegan fried mushroom sandwich, and sides like greens and sweet potatoes. VV also has amazing new standouts, like the lasagna and peach cobbler, and a slightly different concept, in that most of the menu changes daily. They are also open more hours than VFF was. As of now, check their instagram for daily menu. Like some of my other favorite restaurants, this is a family business where somebody veganized a genre in which they were already a skilled chef, following a health scare - but the food is focused on being a tasty vegan version of what you already know and love, *not* being so "healthy" as to bear no resemblance. Their space has both indoor and outdoor seating, and the owners told me they still have plans to add things such as additional drink options. If you're ordering to go, I called in my order and was surprised how quickly it was ready. There's no equivalent place between Houston and New Orleans, so don't miss this!
