Incredible! - Edit
Got the standard gyro and it was honestly incredible! My only note would be to maybe use a little bit less seitan on them (there was a ton!)

Hi! Thanks for your feedback. Regarding your remark on no free water, we are awaiting shipment of our fountain machine. Once we do we will be having fountain drinks as well as eco friendly cups. Until then we have bottle water for purchase

VEGAN GREEK COMFORT FOOD - Edit
Amazing comfort food spot on the East side. Burgers, fries, and classic New York seitan over rice platters!

Tasty but expensive - Edit
I’m familiar with the nyc vegan scene. This place has good food but it’s crazy expensive for a place with basically no seating. I got the seitan. It was delicious but the balance is off. Way too much seitan platter and not enough of the salad mixture. They also won’t fill up your water bottle. Not very environmentally friendly even if their utensils are made of wood.

Pros: All vegan , Yummy platter
Cons: Expensive
Veganonthefly
Hey! We appreciate your feedback. As far as pricing, we try to give every customer a filling meal which is why we try to make the platters come with a bit more protein. Due to high inflation prices, and cost of goods, and operational costs in midtown Manhattan, our pricing is set as such. Regarding water, we don’t have a public restroom. For that reason we can’t fill up customer water bottles and to also comply with Covid-19 protocols. We have water bottles for purchase. We will try to give better platter potions of the salad and hope to see you again!

Hmm covid protocol? It’s pretty standard for establishments to fill water bottles even during eh age of covid. It’s just kinda paradoxical to have wood takeaway and utensils and only sell plastic water bottles.

I was looking for vegan places near my hotel when I saw all the excellent reviews for this spot. They do not lie. Best Loaded Fries - Edit
Vegan On The Fly was one of the places that my boyfriend and I ate at during our trip to NYC from the UK. It is in a great location, near Times Square, and although meant mainly for takeout, there is some outdoor and indoor seating. It had a modern vibe, and I loved the 'wings are for flying not for frying' sign. In terms of the staff, they were really warm and helpful. There was a lot of choice on the 100% plant-based menu, but we both went for the vegan chicken loaded fries. It was incredibly delicious. A meat-eater wouldn't have known it wasn't chicken! I definitely want to go back to try other options on the menu.

Delicious vegan Gyro - Edit
The gyro was ahhmazing! The creamy sauce was perfect over the seitan. The bread was fresh and soft. I’ll definitely be ordering from them again. I’ll be trying other menu items, for sure.

ONE OF THEE BEST VEGAN SPOTS IN THE CITY - Edit
Omg, Idk where to start. I discovered this place on Happy Cow last week and I've been visiting them ever since. My former co worker works nearby here & he come here EVERY DAY since they opened in Nov '21! That speaks volumes!! They have slamming ass meals that can outdo your other fav vegan restaurant in the city. And I've been to A LOT of vegan places in the city. Vegan on the Fly is definitely now in my Top 5 Best Vegan spot in the city. #Veganuary

NYC needed this. YOU need this. - Edit
Exactly what was missing from the vegan NYC scene. Street cart shawarma and falafel and bodega chopped cheese are unmatched in this city, but not plant-based or vegan friendly. Vegan on the fly does this cuisine, better for people, animals, and the environment, and it’s JUST as good or better than the original versions.

Fantastic food and even better customer service - Edit
Food was amazing! Have great options and many different protein based styles to choose from. Not a ton of vegan places in the area that are this amazing. Customer service was fantastic and the owner and lady taking our orders were very nice and accommodating! I’ll definitely be back next time i’m in New York! #Veganuary

I'll be back! - Edit
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was it was a bit pricey for me me, but I understand, it's Midtown. I also didn't expect the fried to be so heavily salted but that's easily remedied I think. I'll definitely be trying more of the food in the future.

Quality fast food - Edit
I stopped here for a quick bite before a movie. I only tried the loaded fries with seitan and they were delicious. Good sized portion if that’s the only thing you’re getting. I was satisfied but not over stuffed even though these were loaded. I added some buffalo sauce, and there were other add ons available.
Read moreIt’s a tiny place with very limited seating but they do have an outdoor covid era seating area. You can order there through a touch screen right at the entrance or order online. Next time I will order online before arriving because you’re literally blocking the entrance where you need to stand to order. It was fine but could get hectic during busier times.
Service was friendly however I said I was eating in and they told me to have a seat and they’d bring it to me when it was ready. Well they didn’t do that and I finally got a text my order was ready so I went to grab it. They asked me how the food was and I was like, “I didn’t get it yet!” They apologized and it was totally fine. Not a big deal. NYC is in the midst of a massive covid surge (Dec 2021) so we all just need some extra love and patience right now.
I’ll definitely be back and try some of the other goods. Nice to have a place like this in midtown and I hope they make it! #Veganuary

Amazing Chick’n Drumsticks - Edit
I purchased a 10 piece chicken drumsticks meal with Buffalo sauce and ranch dressing. The drumsticks are phenomenal. My fiancé and I shared them as an afternoon snack. The restaurant is quite small with a few tables and benches although there is a larger outdoor seating area. Along with the delicious food, you can expect warm and friendly service. I would highly recommend this place for a quick bite and I can’t wait to try out other menu items.

Delicious addition to Midtown, an otherwise vegan desert - Edit
Amazing vegan renditions on classics like chopped cheese, gyros, and loaded fries. Excited to come back and try all their offerings like grape leaves and empanadas. I had the mac and cheese bowl with buffalo “chicken” chunks, so good. My omni guests loved it as well.

Family cooked food - Edit
I relocated to New York City. I found myself actively searching for authentic vegan food. I tried other restaurants around the village and midtown. But here, I was lovely greeted. I ordered their vegan giro. It came delicious & tasty. Ambiance is pretty warm to suggest I will return to taste other dishes. This restaurant is new. If they keep same service, this restaurant would raise up to fame.

Sight seeing in NYC and came across this great vegan option. Best vegan mac and cheese I've tried so far. My husband was excited to try the Tres Leches cake as it's a rare treat for vegans. Very filling and a good price for the area. Would definitely return!

Comfort food near Times Square - Edit
This is a small vegan fast-food place that serves food like vegan gyros, burgers, fries, Among other things, the deserts include a vegan twinkie!😄The service is very friendly and relatively quick. There is some outdoor seating and indoor seating (no bathroom); you order at a kiosk, and they call you when your food is ready. I had a vegan chik'n gyro, empanadas, and a cookie. Not all that healthy, to be sure, but this is comfort food, and I confess that I was comforted!
