Great vegan food with Hungarian twist - Edit
Had a great filling meal at Vegan Garden. We shared the Vegan Garden Tasting platter for starters which had a lovely cashew hummus, pumpkin cream and egg plant cream with pitta bread. We then had the Hungarian Bean Goulash and Mushroom Paprikash as mains, and the very filling dumpling dessert. Also drank the Budapest IPA beer. Highly recommended. Will possibly visit for a second time whilst in Budapest as there’s lots more to explore on the menu including pizzas, pastas, burgers (and nuggets for the children).

Tasty and busy - Edit
We got there just in time to secure the last walk in table before they started turning people away in what I assumed was the dinner rush. Speaking of rush, we found there was a bit of a wait on our food and so we ended up being in quite a rush to eat and pay our bill. I had the mushroom paprikash which was delicious, as was my elderflower mint lemonade. Lots of variety on the menu and somewhere you easily have a very satisfying 3 course meal.

Great food - Edit
We liked the food so much that we came back several times. The staff was friendly too. The only downside I could see was that it was a bit more expensive than other similar restaurants we visited.

Lovely find - Edit
Great to see a fully vegan restaurant. We shared the cashew hummus, which was the perfect blend of smooth hummus, curried cauliflower and cilantro pesto. The flavours worked perfectly. The mushroom pappardelle was incredible, so so similar to the real deal. Had some brassoi stew, and finished with the chocolate orange mouse. All delicious.

We enjoyed our food here but do make a reservation during the weekend or else you'll miss out! We had two different dishes and they were good. I wish we had had more space to eat more! We will visit again in the future.

Top vegan experience 🤩 - Edit
Rich menu. We tried the tasting platter which was absolutely amazing: hard to say which cream was better tasting. Plus, it’s served with a delicious freshly baked pizza bread. Then, we had the lasagna and homemade gnocchi. The first was flawless, the latter was good, however the pumpkin sauce was a bit overwhelming. Overall, we were quite impressed. Also, bear in mind that portions are quite large.

Nice venue but food lacking flavour - Edit
I was excited to try some traditional Hungarian food. I ordered the paprikás with nokedli served with pickled cucumber. I grew up eating this from my grandmother and was excited to try some in Hungary. Unfortunately it was rather bland.

I had the mushroom paprikash and my parents had the Goulash. Was great to have vegan versions of local food, and they mark everything traditionally Hungarian on the menu.

Huge selection, great desserts and drinks - Edit
The interior is very pretty and cozy, the staff was super attentive and kind. It looks like a great place to just chill and calm down a bit.
Read moreThe homemade lemonade was abolutely delicious, perfect mix of sweet and sour.
The cake was great as well, very creamy, not to sweet. The dough was flaky and the buttercream tasted rich without the coconut overpowering.
The main dish could have used a bit more flavouring in my opinion. A bit more spice, maybe some sourness or umami. It was still good, I was just missing something to round it up.
Still recommend this place if youre visiting Budapest though.
