Small vegan restaurant near our hotel, a great find. We had soulfood platter, greens, yams and vegetable medley. It was all very good. HUGE servings, enough for 2. They have ice cream also.

Delicious and tons of it - Edit
Awesome vegan restaurant in Baton Rouge. I ordered the Soulfood Platter and not only was it absolutely delicious but the portion size was massive and I couldn’t come close to finishing it in one sitting. Great price for how much food I got. Friendly staff, highly recommend.

Friendly environment, tasty food. - Edit
I don't know what I haven't had from this place. I don't have any bad things to say about the food here. The burgers are tasty, the wrap is my favorite and the sides are delicious as well. There's sometimes events here, I remember one day I stopped by to pick up food and they had a band here and a vendor or two set up. It s was pretty cool. Stop on by and check it out.

Amazing Southern Food - Edit
We went to VFF yesterday and I ordered the Soul Food Platter and my boyfriend got the Veggie Platter. The Soul Food Platter has dirty rice, jambalaya, red beans and rice, and mac n cheese. I was a little skeptical about the mac because it is gluten free but it was so good! My favorite part of the meal was the red beans and rice. Heads up, this platter is a lot of food- enough to share or take home for leftovers. The Veggie Platter has fried mushrooms, eggplant and cauliflower with a side of ranch for dipping. It was crispy, delicious, and a ton of food. I highly recommend visiting this place. I’m hoping to swing by again before we head home from our trip! One note, there will probably be a bit of a wait but it is so worth it!

Da bomb! - Edit
I had the back sliding burger and added bbq sauce. OMG it was delicious! The place is clean and the people are super friendly. I love that you can make entrees a side, so I'll try a few things next time. I'll definitely be back!

This is my favorite vegan restaurant hands down. I do not live in Baton Rouge but when I am there, I HAVE TO STOP to Vegan Friendly Foods. They have plenty of options at a great price point. The staff is friendly and the food is so delicious. My favorite meal (so far) is the backsliding burger with Mac and cheese. This is a must have.

All vegan cafe - Edit
Baton Rouge is not known for vegan food, but we still have to eat! I was very happy for this place to be available!
Read moreIt has family style service, meaning they are super nice and you feel like you’re in someone’s home while they cook for you.
The menu is as you’d expect for a vegan cafe. Burgers and wraps, some fried veggies, juices and smoothies, salads and Mac n cheese. Also some other cooked delights like yams and soups and sautéed or curry veggies, rice and beans, and the like. A great selection is the veggie or soul food platter. You get more things to try!
Portions are good for the price. Food is served up hot for cooked and then cold for the salads. This is not the best salad joint, so don’t come here hoping for the world’s best salad. If you have food allergies ask the staff about ingredients.
Pros: All vegan, Nice staff
Cons: No menu markings , Can run out of items

We stopped here on a road trip and we were so glad that we did! Delicious soul food at Vegan Friendly Foods! We had the southern plate and mac n cheese. Favorites were the red beans and rice, yams, and greens but everything was so yummy. They also have this pineapple and other fruit juice that was soooo good! Highly recommend for all lovers of soul food!

Vegan soul food so good even omnis will love it - Edit
We've been to this new restaurant twice. We've tried their burger (smothered in house-made nut cheez sauce), gluten-free mac-n-cheez, gumbo with vegan sausage, red beans & rice, BBQ cauliflower, daily greens, and smoothies. It's ALL good.
Read moreI think their vegan gumbo might be my favorite thing on the menu. It's spicy, bursting with flavor, and SO authentic, with New Orleans flavor. It's served with brown rice, which I prefer to white. I also LOVE the grilled BBQ cauliflower -- it's addicting and so delicious!
My hub loved their burger and cheez sauce. He said it was his favorite vegan burger ever. The red beans are great too. The collard greens were also perfect -- not bitter or greasy, as sometimes happens.
One of the challenges about being vegan in Louisiana is not having access to a lot of traditional "comfort food" in restaurants -- gumbo, jambalaya, etc. It's really wonderful to find traditional Louisiana flavors here, without the meat, seafood, and dairy.
The space is big enough to accommodate groups, so it's a good place to go with a bunch of friends.
The family that owns this place is a delight. They're always out talking to customers and being very welcoming. Go, let them cook for you!

Pros: Delicious, 100% plant-based food, Big menu with lots of choices, Traditional Louisiana flavors
Cons: Navigating the traffic on College Ave.

Having been back many times, here are a few tips for anyone trying this place for the first time:
Read more(1) Try a Soul Food Platter -- and share it. It's enormous (really, dinner for two). It's a great way to try 4 different items on the menu.
(2) VEGAN KING CAKE!!!!! The filled praline one is amazing. They're selling vegan king cake by the slice during Carnival season. They also take special orders (week in advance) for whole cakes -- $40 regular, $45 filled.

Best New Vegan Restaurant I've Stumbled Upon - Edit
My sister and I were in Baton Rouge for a concert. After driving over 4 hours from Houston, we were starving. As a vegan I checked out this app hoping to find a local vegan restaurant rather than having to go somewhere I could eat in Houston.
Read moreTurns out Vegan Friendly Foods was a week into their soft open and going to have their grand open the next day. We had the Soul food platter that included dirty rice, jumbalya, Mac and cheese, and red beans and rice. Haven't had jumbalya since becoming vegan 3 years ago, and this made up for that lost time. Recommend the dirty rice if you like boudin flavors.
They even have THE IMPOSSIBLE BURGER! 🤤 Had that when we went to the grand opening (because how could we not go the next day after eating bomb food the first time!)
We even got to taste their cupcake made by their very own vegan pastry chef!
Easily the BEST cupcakes we have ever had! Vegan... non-vegan... No other cupcake has ever topped that vegan cupcake from Vegan Friendly Foods!
Can't wait to visit them again someday 💗
Pros: 100% vegan, Black owned business, Welcoming and friendly staff
