Beautiful

Chef Fei was lovely. We enjoyed everything about the experience in celebration of the hubbys 50th birthday.
It was a really personal chef's table service, several courses of local special food some endemic to the Puli district and creative with some really lovely flavours. I loved the pickled daikon and the salad. Hubby loved the tumeric dumplings. Food was generous, colourful, creative and fresh.
Bookings suggested but walk in possible as long as Fei is open as she does take time off when she needs to recharge as she is a one woman restaurant. The Decor was also really lovely. There was special water ( see for yourself) dessert and coffee at the end as well.
If you get lost, just ask around, the people in the area are really friendly helpful.

Fantastic Japanese ramen

We tried dropping in on a Saturday at 11:40am, but it was already packed and required a one-hour wait. So we decided to just make a reservation for dinner on the same day.

We returned a little before 5pm, and they were still getting ready. They seated us right at 5pm and explained the different seasonal sides. They all looked delicious. I ordered the black sesame sauce tsukemen and the seasonal salad. For presenting my Plants Fan VIP card, I also got a free seasonal side (grilled pineapple with woodear fungus, cherry tomatoes, and red cabbage). The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the sesame sauce was fragrant. I love how crispy the tofu skin was. The veggies all tasted super fresh. I can’t say for sure how the other dishes tasted, but my dining companions devoured theirs completely. The two owners are originally from Taipei and Kaohsiung, and they decided to settle in Puli because of the proximity to the agricultural community. They build long-term relationships with farmers who grow quality produce without the use of pesticides. Love this little gem so much!

Pros: locally sourced ingredients, delicious variety of flavors, friendly owners

Cons: limited seating
