Great Asian Option

Finally paid a visit today after gears of hearing about this place. We ordered the deep fried mushrooms, honey lemon chicken, chicken fried rice, hokkein noodles and chips. Everyone enjoyed the food. I thought from the picture the noodles would cooked it n soy sauce but they seems to be in gravy. Never had noodles with gravy before - was ok but would have preferred soy sauce or similar. Lemon chicken was delicious. Wouldn’t eat here regularly (most of the dishes were deep fried) but nice every now and then :)

Pros: Convenient location , Everything veggie or vegan, Enjoyed by omni’s too

Cons: Not the cheapest, Almost too many options

Vegan Mecca 🌱🌱

This place is one of the oldest vego places in Perth! It’s been offering the vegan community vegan options long before it became mainstream. It’s probably one of the best places in Perth to get Asian style food. It’s one of my go tos and the food is delicious!!!
Definitely recommend the dry udon noodles, szchewan chicken, fried mushroom and squid rings!!!
Also if you like bubble tea but don’t like it too sweet don’t forget to ask them to reduce the sugar if not it’s pretty sweet.
Portion sizes here also very decent

Pros: Lots of vegan options, So tasty with decent portion sizes , Karaoke

Cons: Bubble tea can be sweet

So full!

So many choices it's hard to pick what to eat! Definitely didn't need the entree of spring rolls as the mains are very large sized meals.

Pros: Lots of choice, Free Chinese tea, Great location

Cons: Can get noisy when there's lots of people, Plastic used for bubble tea when dining in

Glad it's all vegetarian but...

Not the cleanest place, food is way too salty almost inedible. Very flavorless. Good to have mock meat options but there are many better options in Perth. Also quite expensive, $20 per meal exclusive of rice, with small portions.

Guilty pleasure

The main issue I have with this place is that there is so
much on the menu it took me at least half an hour to choose! The food is deep fried and plentiful, but very tasty for a treat. I found myself fantasising about it, so we had to go back a second time!

good asian vegan food in

The food is pretty good. Everything is veg with lots of vegan options. You can try Malaysian/Taiwanese dishes but in vegan form which I really appreciate. Noodle soups, stir fries with mock meat and shrimp, from cheap ($12) to slightly more expensive. I used to live in Northbridge so it was really nice for me to come to the main street (5 minute walk) and be able to enjoy vegan food in a chill environment.

Some of the bubble tea can be made vegan with soymilk for a $1 extra. but tbh, nothing spectacular about it. It is cool though, that they do have the option.

Pros: central location in northbridge nightlife area, heaps of vegan option and clearly marked too

Cons: some of the malaysian curry dishes have milk or wh

Repeat Customer

I returned many times. For years, this was my favorite and the only restaurant I visited as the food was so excellent. I ordered the sesame seaweed rolls and the yam basket over and over again because they were just so delicious. If you visit, I would suggest you try these very well made dishes. They do not disappoint. The steak was good also and many other dishes I tried were all really amazing to eat. The atmosphere is very relaxing and there is music clips being played on a screen for your entertainment. They speak excellent English and do not hesitate to be of service even if you have allergies or requests to omit ingredients. They make the food immediately and serve very fast, even when they are very busy. which is often. I would still visit every week were I still living in the area, but alas I had to move. You are sadly missed. You were my UTOPIA.

Pros: Excellent size proportions and price, Amazing Asian style vegan food, Very friendly staff, always ready to help.

Cons: Not available in more areas. Want Utopia everywher

HUGE range of vegan options

Literally pages and pages of vegan dishes that are clearly marked.
The hotpot/steamboat stuff is a little hit and miss but everything else is delicious!

They also have vegan soybean powder that you can add to your bubble tea which is awesome!

Pros: so many choices!, fast service

I love this place, so easy to order as each vegan item is clearly marked.

Only way to improve would be to have vegan deserts also!

Pros: lots of range, meat substitutes, filling food

Cons: little bit expensive, bit of a walk from public transport, tucked away- need to know where it is

Love it

Many vegan options marked on menu. Interior design is great, well kept and clean with a very friendly staff. Very affordble prices and nice size portions. I've visited over 50 times and I've never been disapointed. Flavor of food is very mild but still very good, nonetheless.

Pros: Whole menu of vegan options, Affordable, good quality, Good size portions

Cons: No vegan desserts

Delicious!

Utopia is a really nice restaurant for vegans & vegetarians. The menu has vegan dishes clearly marked so it's easy to pick something.

Portion size is normal and filling, also the main dishes are quite cheap! I paid 11.50$ for a main dish and got a bubble tea for free. The restaurant is clean, the staff friendly plus if you're a fan of karaoke you should definitely check this place out.
They're playing Asian and western music on big screens for you to sing along (it's not too loud or distracting)

Pros: Great value, Friendly staff, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Serves dairy & eggs

Utopia of Asian vegan and vegetarian cuisine

As far as the Asian vegan and vegetarian cuisine goes, you will find it here. The menu has 10+ pages of all kinds of meals. They arrive very fast, portions are big and filling and they taste very good! You have a wide choice from very spicy to sweet meals. Everything is marked how popular or spicy it is, if it's vegan of vegetarian. The desserts are unfortunately not vegan but are vegetarian. If you have a craving for something exotic and don't mind mock meat, this a place for you.

Pros: Huge variety , Very tasty food , Clear labeling

Cons: No vegan desserts :(

Great option for Asian Cuisine!

I love Utopia. The menu is well thought out and easy to navigate as it clearly labels what is vegetarian/vegan. The prices could be a bit cheaper but coming from a hospitality background, I understand the costs involved.

Bubble Tea is excellent! I highly recommend the Satay "chicken" (vegan). Some vegan desserts would be great. Also more gluten free options should be made available.

Pros: So many choices, Bubble tea!, Great Staff

Cons: Can be very crowded/noisy, Needs more GF options, Some meals are quite pricey

Great concept. Come in, grab menu, fill out little form for what you want, take to counter and pay. Then sit back and wait for these awesome meals to come out. Very vegan accommodating , with all dishes clearly marked and a special vegan only centre at the back of menu. This is a must place to visit. Will not disappoint

A very unique place!

This place is so strange but it completely rules. It started out as a Bubble Tea cafe - at least 50 flavours of bubble tea with many made from real tea & actual fruit. (Most new joints use flavoured syrups.) Then they introduced a very extensive mock meat veggie menu. Very vegan friendly as the menu lists exactly which dishes are vegan. Awesome! The ordering system is unique but fun. The place is huge & can get quite busy, they have K-pop or J-pop music playing usually & strange music videos on a big screen. Karaoke upstairs. The staff wear cute orange aprons & matching head scarf. Near the counter they sell sweet buns for take away & there is a freezer section where you can purchase take away mock meat for your own cooking adventures.

Pros: Huge menu, Unique experience, Bubble tea

Fun Fast Food

You are guarenteed fast, satisfying service as Utupia. Although, in summer is can get unbearably hot with no air conditioning upstairs in Northbridge. The menu is a diverse selection of asian mock-meat dishes, and while not everything is vegan, if you ask I think it can be clarified which of the mock meat products may contain dairy/egg.

My favourite dish is the crumbed mushrooms, which I could basically snack on all day. We have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a meal so it's great if you're in the mood for your mock meat fast. A lot of non-vegetarians don't know about Utopia so it is always fun to introduce them to the menu and bubble tea is always a welcome bonus. There is also karaoke rooms to book on the top floor, if you are in the mood.

Pros: fast, good service, big menu

Cons: no air-con, food quality varies, limited flavour palette

Haven for vegies

Sometimes it's just nice to go somewhere and not have to struggle to find something "nice" to eat, what you actually feel like as opposed to what you "can" have. This menu is HUGE, with pictures so there is sure to be something there that you are in the mood for.

Pros: Loads of choices, Price, Fast

Cons: self ordering, Kareoke only on weekends

So so

Feel disappointed recently with most of the food there. Reason: the taste of the food has no standard. It seems like whether you will have nice dish or not, it depends on the chef cooking the dish. That means, if the chef has plain taste buds, you will end up having less-salt dishes. But if you are lucky enough, the head chef cooks your food and yes his cooking is nice!

The other example is the vegetable they put in one dish. One day you can have Bok Choy, but the other day you order the same dish bok choy might be replaced with something else.

Pros: Sell Bubble tea, Video Clip entertainment

Cons: Food can be nice but awful other time

This restaurant has a different ordering system which is great when you get used to it. As a totally vegetarian place, it's easier to order and it's fun, fast and sometimes very tasty.

Very funky

We had a great dinner at the upstairs Utopia restaurant while on holidays in Perth recently.

The decor is really funky and for those who are into Asian Karaoke, just look at the big TV screen and sing along or hire your private room upstairs.

The menu was HUGE so it took us a while to decide on what to get. Eventually we filled out the little order form and took it to the counter, only to realize that the dishes we had chosen weren't vegan. Anyway we were lucky second time around.

The food was really yummy and we wished we had more time in Perth to go to Utopia more than just once.

We were really full after starter and mains but we couldn't resist having some vegan bubble milk tea with sago. YUM!

There seems to be a couple of Utpoia bakerys around Perth that sell creamy looking buns and cakes and also bubble tea. We didn't check them out because we thought there probably wouldn't be any vegan options.

Utopia Rocks

I really love this restaurant it has a great ambience, you can sit in lounge chairs which is cool and is the best vegetarian restaurant i've dined in in Perth. Has a great selection of bubble teas(you can get some non-dairy) and the meals are good value to. They have a big selection of mock meat and a reasonible selection of tofu dishes which is fab cause im not so into the whole mock meat thing. All in all I was really impressed with this restaurant.

Pros: good value, funky interior
