Vegan burrito

Has a vegan burrito with everything you would expect to be in a a vegan burrito. If you see the deli/counter thing called Umeya it is directly behind that.

Has seating on the second floor.

Pros: Big burrito, Comfortable seating

Delicious Vegan burrito

I got a bit lost and confused since it has the same name of a Chicken place just by their side, but the Vegan burrito was delicious , nice size and fair price.

Fine food

We arrived really looking forward to getting a burrito. When you go in, it's clearly labelled in Japanese and English the process of choosing what you want at each stage of the menu. There is the option of a burrito, salad or bowl. You can eat in or takeout. They put the food together in front of you. I had the vegan burrito. It was fine. I didn't think it was particularly flavourful, but it was filling. They had options of 2 sauces (I'm unsure whether these were vegan) by the napkins that you can help yourself too. It wasn't too expensive, for a burrito and a Coke it was ¥1,230 as it was part of a set.

Surprisingly good

Walking in this looked like more of a take away place so I didn't have huge expectations but it was actually quite tasty. There is a vegan option (beans, guacamole, veggies) which is clearly labelled in English and they take credit card. Burrito was fresh and filling, mild but nice hot sauces on the table. Inexpensive, food prepared very quickly. Overall tasty and convenient.

Decent, albeit soggy, burrito

Umeya Kitchen is a new Mexican restaurant that opened in Yokohama in October (closest stations: Kannai and Sakuragicho). They specialize in salads, rice bowls, and… burritos!

We at 4AJ are huge fans of burritos, so we had to go check it out. When you enter, you’re greeted by the polite and friendly staff, who take your order and whip it up right in front of you. You can get it to go, or take your tray upstairs where there’s a small but comfortable seating area.

I was pleasantly surprised with the portion size– for 1080 yen, you can get a nice, filling lunch here. So how was it? The short answer is: not great, not terrible. As a native Arizonan, I’ve eaten many a delicious burrito in my day. This one was quite different from what I’m used to, though. It could have done with more rice and guac, in my humble opinion. And the salsas that they added to it, though tasty, made the inside of the burrito so wet that by the end it was a drippy, soggy mess.

Still, I applaud them for opening a vegan-friendly burrito joint, one that loudly declares the word VEGAN on the walls!
