Not good - Edit
Came back here twice
Read moreFirst time I was too late and hardly any food left so I didn’t eat here. Now back and the quality and taste weren’t good
Even the easiest dishes like tofu tomato sauce were bland and seemed old. Book Choi tasted really bitter and the schnitzel old and chewy. Beef was dry. Maybe go early in the morning. When I went I couldn’t eat most of the food because it was not tasty.
Price is still 40k

This is great such great value
The price is 40.000 which is for a all you can eat buffet
Black rice delicious
Several mock meat options and lots of delicious tofu
Came here early as advices so everything was fresh and tasty
Great flavour got a soup as well
And especially the lime tofu stick, mushrooms and tomato tofu were great
Peanuts to add on
Very rustic place love it
Friendly owner speaks no English but is friendly and it’s all you can eat so no menu to choose from

Amazing food and owner. - Edit
Simple and clean vegetarian food. Absolutely amazing value for your money. The owner speaks zero English but is so sweet and feels like a caring mother. She starts by handing you a plate with a nice portion of rice. You then take your fill at a table of delicious all veg options (tofu, veggies, mushrooms, potatoes, etc). She then brings you a soup and spicy dipping sauce. This place is perfect if you like clean simple meals with nothing fancy. At 35k, I've been coming here most days for lunch. Follow the sign on the street and walk straight back to the restaurant (down the alley). Waze found the location with no issues.

Delicious, lovely owner - Edit
Google maps has this place on the wrong side of the street, numbers on buildings though. Long alley and Tu Hao is at the very end, though its sign lists a different name.

Cheap little buffet restaurant - Edit
Hard to find, down an alley. But in a great location in town.
Read moreOne small room, with three tables total. But food was fresh and tasty. You get a plate with some rice, and then fill up the rest yourself. Once I sat down I was also brought a plate of freshly fried tofu. All this for 35k VND.
Food was tasty and vegetables were varied. Also lots of different fake meats.
Promised the proprietor that I would come again, but ran out of time in Hanoi, but a fantastic place for lunch in the old town.
Pros: Cheap, Good food, Buffet
Cons: Hard to find

Authentisches, frisches Essen - Edit

Great food very cheap - Edit
Tasty food and super cheap buffet, only 35K (around 1.5€). The food is not very oily and offer a good variety, including some fruit. The place is small so you will share the table. The owner does not speak English but very friendly.

Cheap & authentic buffet - Edit
Humble little place at the back of an alley with about 4 tables, we went here for lunch on 3 different days. Costs 35k for a plate, amazing value. It’s a buffet with lots of different vegetable dishes (a lot were a mystery to us), tofu and mock meats. There were different dishes each day, sometimes there was a side bowl of soup, and we were served either red rice or white rice. Food is pretty tasty and if you go before 12pm there’s a better chance of it being hot and fresh.

Cute little place - Edit
This place literally feels like a small room in someone’s house, and is hidden down a tiny alleyway. We arrived at 7pm for some dinner, which was probably a mistake. All of the food was cold, and we were told that there was more available earlier in be day.
Read moreWe still enjoyed our meal, but it sounds like it’s much better to go when it’s lunchtime! Well priced, and the owner was sweet, so it’s a good place to support!
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Lovely owner, Cheap
Cons: Small place, Cold food in the evening

Such good value for money - Edit
Really small hidden place but tasty food and very cheap. The lady is lovely and gives you rice and you fill up on top with whatever is there on the day. One plate for 35k VND which is amazing value. They had lots of stir fried veg and some tofu and mock meats. She also brought us pineapple for dessert which was cute

For the price this place is great. I got charged 35k for the buffet. Although there was not alot of sauces with my dish which left it slightly dry the food taste was fine. I really liked the cooked cocunut slices! An the lady is really nice although no English but this is not a problem.

Authentic, real, cheap - Edit
After reading that the lady had ran out of food by 13:30 I wasn’t expecting there to be any at 19:00 when I went. I asked someone for the vegetarian restaurant and was pointed down an alleyway where a lady stood, she then opened the doors to an empty room. At first I didn’t think there was much left but then she started pulling trays and trays of food from I don’t know where!
Read moreI filled my plate as she kept pointing at me to have more as she was still magicking up more trays of food!
For the people saying the food was cold she has a microwave in a cupboard so your food can be reheated!
All the food was really good and nice to have some actual whole vegetables too.
Lots of mock meats in the selection too.
The lady was so trusting she pointed to the sign which said the price (35,000 VND) and went off out on her bicycle!
Pros: Sweet lady, Good selection
Cons: Won’t win any stars for food hygiene

Love This Authentic Spot!!! - Edit
This is a humble vegetarian eatery(she told me nothing had eggs or diary) that is an unbelievable value at 35k for the buffet. The food is tasty and carried with veggies, tofu, and some mock-meats. The buffet also includes some bowls of whatever soup she has that day and some fresh fruit! The woman who runs it always greets you with a big smile!
Read moreThis is a local spot down a little alley. If you are looking for western standards, I suggest going to the old quarter and paying for over-priced pho. If you’re really after an authentic spot to fill your belly, this is definitely it.
Get there early! I’ve been telling everyone and yesterday she ran out of food by the time I got there at 1330! She actually opens between 11 and 1130.
I’ll ask her for a phone number(you can have your hostel or hotel call ahead and be sure she’s open and has food still)
Pros: Lots of tasty choices, Mock meats, veggies, and fresh fruit!, Appears to be totally vegan(double check)
Cons: Can run out of food. , Will close early if she runs out. , No way to tell if she’s run out.

Not a happy cow - Edit
First off, this place is definitely still there.
Read moreThe food:
It's the same every day. A buffet of boiled veggies and some mock meats.
You can pile it on for vnd 35,000. That's pretty good for central Hanoi.
However, I did find it mostly pretty bland. There's some kinda mushroom fluff and soy sauce available to help with this.
There is also some fruit, but on our first visit the papaya was wrapped in hair and the owner practically grabbed a piece of pineapple and threw it on my plate which was a bit unappetising. On other visits, it was usually uncut, so mostly for display purposes.
I have read many reviews that rave about the owner and I have to say that didnt match my experience. On our first trip she was indeed as described, even offering us cigarettes as she smoked behind us. Bit surprising when on second visit she suddenly demanded payment a couple of minutes after we sat down in a rather grumpy and annoying manner.
Don't go there too Early!
On our last day we turned up there just after the opening time shown on happy cow. Nearly everything was ready, but the owner was still boiling one or two things. Pointing to the clock, she ranted at us angrilly, repeating the same angry words (vietnamese) and gestures for quite a lot longer than necessary. Well yeah i get that her English is non existant and that it was a slight inconvenience, but her manner was not justified at all.
Obviously i would avoid going back for this reason alone, but there are also better places in my opinion. Budget friendly pure veg options take a bit of seeking out if staying in the touristy centre, but worth making the effort.
Pros: Inexpensive for location, You won't leave hungry
Cons: Moody owner, Bland food

This is a best place for the people who is seeking for a real Vietnamese home cooking style vegan food.
Read moreOnly 35k for a plate! Cozy local style restaurant, we love it so much! We visited there around 18:30.
You get the red rice and you can pick as much as food you can put on the plate. Choices are from various kinds of seasonable dishes (Vietnam home cooking style) the chef cooked for the day. (We had 12 kinds)
Staff lady showed us to use the microwave in there to make it warm.
We also got the spinach soup ;)
All of them are super delicious!
WARNING : It was difficult to find this place, because the spot was in the end of the corridor where other kinds of shops are lined up.
Go to the address and ask the front store person “com chay?” Then you will get a advice to go father back.

😋😋 - Edit
Sometimes it's hard to find something to eat for less than 45k in the city so this place came in handy. It's buffet style, so you get to fill your plate once with the amount of food you want and you pay only 35k. In this price you have a piece of fruit included as a desert. Everything was very tasty, we'll go back for sure!

Perfect - Edit
This is the kind of place you’d find yourself grabbing lunch at three times a week if you lived long term in the neighborhood. Authentically Vietnamese chay doesn’t disappoint for the price (35k!) and the laid back woman who runs it is lovely. A choice of white or red rice, some faux meats root vegetables, bamboo, tofu dishes, marinated coconut pieces and fresh fruits were some of the dishes set out on the tables both times I ate at the place. I’ll likely be back for another quick lunch or two!
Read moreIf you’re turned off by the location beneath some tin roofs and sandwiched down a congested covered alleyway with nearby unrelated businesses, you’re missing out. Finding little places like this one are a highlight of metro Vietnam- and integral to the charm of this wonderful country😄
Note: I think she closes in the afternoon, so I recommend showing up for lunch before 2. Not sure about dinner!
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Good balanced dishes with many to choose from, Fresh fruit and a sweet owner

Lovely tucked restaurant please give this place a try! - Edit
Delicious food! Mrs Bich the lady that owns/runs it is a lovely lady that does everything herself, from washing to cooking to serving. If you find the green and yellow sign just go straight inside and follow the little walk way, don't ask people outside as they will try and get you to eat their meat dishes by saying its closed, as they are not from this restaurant.

such good value and tasty food! - Edit
This place was such a good find! There is a big green and yellow sign above an alley way with meat food carts on either side of the entrance but at the end of the alley is this little gem! The lovely lady hands you a plate of red rice then you go in and get what you want from the buffet, all for 35k! There is a good selection of vegetable dishes which i find other buffet style places lack. They also offer mock meats and tofu dishes, all very delicious! The lady there is really attentive, always checking the buffet, moving the fans so they are pointing at people and making sure you don't leave without having any fruit!( Fresh fruit is also available.) Will definitely be going back!
