Such a nice and calming location!

It’s quite far from the station but definitely worth it. You don’t get to eat in such an old beautiful building every day!
Their ethnic lunch plate was so flavourful and unique!
The pumpkin tart was excellent!

Outside tables available

It is certainly not in the most convenient location, but you can walk from Kawasaki Station, which takes about 20 minutes, and the cafe is just past the supermarket called Big Yosan
It was nice to sit at a tiny table under a little porch, but the smell of mosquito-repellent incense is unavoidable outside in summer
I ordered "Tsunagoro Plate" for 1518 yen, which was delicious and perfect for a small appetite
Craft cola (550 yen) made from over 20 ingredients including Japanese herbs, spices and citrus fruits goes well with green curry, which is authentic and very spicy

Traditional Japanese House Turned Vegan Cafe

I first visited this lovely vegan restaurant in summer of 2020. I went there by bicycle without making a reservation, and luckily was able to get a table at 11am (open time). The staff informed me that it is better to make a reservation because the tables are often full. We were the first ones there, but by the time we left around noon, the place was filling up. I recommend making a reservation and going early to avoid the crowds!

The atmosphere of the cafe is very good, and the food is beautiful and delicious. I especially liked the pita sandwiches and the desserts. The menu changes somewhat depending on the season, and I saw on instagram recently that they are serving a special menu on Mondays now (but you have to reserve it). I would really like to try it, but it's quite difficult for me to get out there on a Monday, especially since it's a bit far from where I live.

Nevertheless, I look forward to visiting this wonderful vegan shop again in the near future.

Pros: Beautiful shop, Delicious food, lovely staff

Cons: Popular, better to make a reservation before going

Amazing vegan spot, in my top 5 favorite Tokyo restaurants

The ambiance, food presentation, and care put into everything they do here is out of this world. Definitely a place I’ll bring family and friends. The food was sizable, relatively cheap, tasty, and fresh/healthy feeling. Vegans in Tokyo would be remiss to not check this place out. I’m sure I’ll take trips to the Kawasaki area just for this place in the future.

Pros: Cedar wood architecture & great overall ambiance , Super tasty food, Cheap!

Cons: Menu mainly in Japanese, Honey in two items (but you can order it without)

Good food in a rustic setting

English below👇

This is an ALL-VEGAN organic restaurant in Yokohama! Tsunagorou is a charming little restaurant located in a gorgeous, Japanese-style house that just opened in April of 2018.

In the lobby, there's a small shop selling different things like coconut flour and soy meat. Upon taking off your shoes and entering, you find a small but lovely dining room. Available for lunch is the taco rice and the "lunch of the day"-- a soup, salad, and side dishes with your choice of bread or rice.

We chose the lunch of the day with rice, and were very impressed by the gorgeous presentation. The "yakiniku-style" soy meat was amazing-- it truly tasted and felt like the real thing. The side dishes, which included butternut squash soup, a piece of fried tofu, a "cake" made of sweet potato and other veggies, and a boiled peanut, were all fantastic and carefully prepared and arranged on the plate. I enjoyed every bite.

The restaurant was pretty full when we went for lunch on a Friday, and as far as we could tell, there are only three people working there, so getting a hold of the server can be difficult. Also, it's a ten-minute walk deep into the suburbs from Shitte or Tsurumi-ichiba stations. In other words, it's not located in the most convenient of locations. But if you're in Yokohama or Kawasaki and would like to eat delicious food in a beautiful setting, go here. (Note that they're only open from 11 to 5, closed on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday.)

Gem in Yokohama :)

Set in a century year-old traditional Japanese house built by Tsunagorou-san over two hundred years ago. The current owners (fifth generation), decided to turn it into a vegan cafe in 2018.

I was wowed by the interior setting and ambience of the cafe. It shows ancient Japanese architectural art of construction. Every corner of the house exudes a nostalgic feel like a time machine brought back to the past.

The presentation and taste of food are excellent. Appreciated the efforts by the chef. Indeed a most wonderful experience in Japan.

Pros: Fully vegan, Great presentation , Nostalgic ambience
