Go for the free cup of coffee....

Everyone knows Trader Joes. This one is small, always packed, and seems to have higher prices than others I've visited. Thats what you get for the Princeton address i guess. That being said, they have lots of vegan options and is a really good place to go on your weekly shopping trip.

Veggies aren't always in the best condition but they have pretty good variety and who doesn't love a free small cup of coffee while you shop.

Needs improvement

The most crowded store you will ever go to! It’s overwhelming. Produce is often rotting and things seem to be more expensive than other Trader Joe’s locations. Tons of alcohol options. Overall it’s not worth the hassle of fighting others just to get your groceries.

Not the best

Not the best Trader Joe’s. Not a large enough store. Constantly crowded. Not a lot of vegan/organic options in my opinion. I don’t even bother looking for items here anymore.

Cons: Crowded, Small store, Not a lot of vegan/organic variety

Best Store Bought Vegan Ice Creams

We travel an hour and stock up every once in awhile. The vegan vanilla and chocolate chip cherry ice creams are great, as well as the Mango sorbet. Best value for the money. Good vegan chocolate chips, cocoa powder, organic frozen corn. Be careful with the frozen foods - they tend to be overly greasy and crazy-salty. Would like to know more about where their products come from.

Excellent Wine, Best Value for Pantry

Trader Joe's seems to have a cult following. They have an enormous and ever-changing variety of prepared and packaged foods like Asian salads, middle-eastern dips and quinoa corn chips with chia seeds. The prices are an excellent value for most things, especially the wine where you can get many decent bottles for under $6 including some organic wines.
This is one of the stores in the area besides Wegmans where you can buy groceries and wine/liquor/beer in the same place.

They always have a tasting station with fresh brewed coffee and usually a juice and a featured food or snack. While the packaged goods are usually very good and a great value, I do find the quality of produce to be less than desired. The avocados, in particular for some reason, always seem to go bad more quickly than when I buy elsewhere. But for other organic produce, you can find some excellent value with the bulk/pre-weighed bags, for example onions and limes.

They also carry a large variety of vegetarian and vegan items but beware that most of the frozen and prepackaged veg foods are not exactly what I would call healthy. They may taste very good but read the labels so you know what you're getting. I tend to stick with single food items, like frozen spinach or blueberries vs. the meals that may have a ton of salt, soy isolates or sugar (it's amazing how many of their shelf products have added sugar in it!). At the same time they do have some great organic grains, beans and nuts with nothing added. Just don't get too attached to particular items because things go out of stock frequently or are discontinued altogether without notice.

Overall, TJ's is excellent for many items, and great for stocking up your pantry with jarred/canned goods, snacks or wine.

Pros: Wine, Best value on some items, Many organic products

Cons: Produce quality varies, Stock varies depending on the day, Can be a zoo, long lines to checkout

TRADER JOES does the body good

Trader Joes is the best kept secret. If you have never been there, this is what you will find - friendly people, good quality, decent prices, very little junk, small store, good choices and a place you want to go back to over and over again. I do not work for them or have stock in this company. I just like the way they are set up. They have plenty of Vegetarian and Vegan choices which are labeled. Go to TRADER JOES, you will not be sorry.
