Yummy, many vegan options

Went twice, my favorite was the thai coconut bowl - all bowls can be made vegan. The sause was very flavorful and the vegetables made to a perfect point. Wish the menu would specify what's vegan and what's vegeterian.

Decent Experience

Prior reviews made this place seem like an awful option, but it was actually decent. Ended up playing it safe with a veggie and tofu pad thai veganized, which the server even stated “vegan” when dropping off the dish. Just had to mention no fish sauce and no egg, as I’d normally do at a Thai place. Other dishes definitely available, just take a conversation with the staff. Big portion size (of noodles, tofu and veg were normal size) but for a decently high price.

Specify "vegan" when ordering.

I liked Roots better when they first opened. They have changed some recipes since then, especially some noodle dishes.

The description states that the dumplings are vegan. However, I was told that they contain egg (a few years ago).

Make sure to state vegan, no meat, no fish, no eggs when ordering. I noticed that the ticket specifies modifications - I previously thought that certain dishes were default vegan but apparently they need to be modified (like sauces in the rice bowls).

Pros: Some vegan options, "vegan" in the computer system

Cons: Expensive, not clear how to order vegan, changes

I don't go back here often, but I like the pickled cucumbers and rarely get an entree.
I'm not confident that the food is actually vegan, though the ticket did have no fish sauce, no egg. Their take on drunken noodles has gotten worse over time and I would not recommend it. Price is kind of high for what it is also. Definitely used to be better.

Very good bowls

I went with a friend who is not vegan, and we got the same bowl—mine with tofu and vegetables and hers with chicken. Mine was amazing, and had enough for leftovers the next day!!

Pros: Quick to get food , Paper take away containers , Beautiful inside

Good selection, REALLY higher quality.

The first thing you’ll notice about the food from Roots is the quality. Their ingredients are amazing, everything is hand made fresh, and even though they’re not cheap you still feel like you should have spent more to get something so good. I’d recommend the Pho Chay soup or the General Roots Tofu if it’s your first time.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Fine dining quality, They get my order right every single time

Cons: Too pricy to get often

Delicious

I love Roots! The food is always so fresh! Usually go on a Friday night around 6:00 and typically get seated right away, haven't had to make reservations yet. So many vegan options: scallion pancakes, vegetable dumplings, spring rolls, avocado roll (veggie etc.) Tofu and rice bowls you can add beans and veggies with noodles or rice. One of my favorites!

Pros: Lots of vegan options. Very nice atmosphere.

Cons: Staff sometimes try takes your plates b4 your done
