So sad to see this place closing! - Edit
I have popped in to Tofurei to sample some cakes and pasties before they close, a shame since I hadn’t had a chance to try them out before! Has an amazing white chocolate and strawberry cake and chocolate hazel nut cake , and a very moist and tasty blueberry lemon flapjack which wasn’t too heavy. This place will be missed.

McBluffin Amazing - Edit
Popped in here during a weeks holiday. Myself and non-vegan pal had the McBluffin. Wow this is worth visiting Norwich for. It’s massive and very filling. My friend couldn’t stop raving about it. Unfortunately no room for one of their amazing looking cakes. Cute looking cafe, very shabby chic. Slightly over priced, but I’d definitely go back.

Absolutely lovely - Edit
Had such a relaxing, chilled lunch here with delicious tofu options. I had the sushi Buddha bowl which was different but amazingly tasty! The cakes looked fab. And I absolutely adored the pigeons on the wall - so cute 🐦

Lovely lunches and cakes - Edit
I came here a couple of times for lunch while on a work trip to Norwich recently and the food was very nice. I particularly enjoyed the McBluffin! I also got some cakes from here and they were just incredible. The decor inside is wonderful (I love the pigeon theme!) and it has a lovely atmosphere.

Good cakes - Edit
I can’t fault the sausage roll and banoffee cake that I had - they were absolutely delicious. Lots of cakes on offer and a really good menu. It was slightly disappointing that they had ran out of most cold drinks by 13:30 - also asked for a tap water which we didn’t receive. But that wouldn’t put us off returning again soon 😊

Very nice and tasty food. Lovely cakes, nice setting and good service. A little expensive maybe would be the only draw back.

Perfect breakfast or lunch spot - Edit
Visited here many times for cake and coffee. Always lovely.
Read moreWent in for breakfast and have to recommend this too! We had the tofu burger and the breakfast muffin.
For once we didn't share, but the other half had only good things to say.
The muffin was huge! I don't know what wizardry they've managed to do but the tofu egg and smoked tofu are outstanding. The flavours were well balanced and the entire thing was very filling.
Can't wait for a return trip in June!

Bountiful breakfast - Edit
This looks like an unassuming and small space from the outside but it's got a nice upstairs room (industrial chic vibes) with lots of plants. We had porridge bowls topped with loads of seeds, granola and fruit. Really tasty. Cakes look good too so we'll have to go back one day.

My absolute favourite vegan café - Edit
Amazing cakes + savoury options as standard, and they're now experimenting with expanding the menu to smoothies and buddha bowls. The design choices give the place so much character - the plants, the pigeon murals, the rustic wooden floors and furniture. You could easily spend hours here.
Read moreI first visited when they had their original space in the corner of Pottergate in 2017, and it's no surprise they ended up growing so much since then.
My single favourite vegan café I've been to - whenever I'm back home in Norwich I always make time to stop by.

In house tofu - amazing! - Edit
Looking to grab some takeaway lunch as I had heard about this place a lot, though I went a bit late in the day and could only grab the tofu-masala pasty, which was pretty good when heated up the next day, but not something I would pick again.
Read moreHowever I would recommend trying out their own house made tofu, I bought some of the maple tofu and that is absolutely delicious when grilled! I had some in a sandwich with tomatoes and vegan mayo and it was amazing!
Would love to try their actual sandwiches, but if they sell out when you visit, do make sure to at least pick up their tofu!

Not my cup of tea - Edit
In my opinion this place is not worth 5 stars. I was really looking forward to going there, but it is dingey and small with not very much choice regarding sweet things, and the things there weren't my cup of tea really- peanut butter cups, lots of chocolate based things (I love chocolate but only eat Tony's Chocolonley chocolate as it is the most ethical), peach and nectarine thing...? Maybe I'm just fussy but a lot of the stuff was cold things like sandwiches and yogurt, and for somewhere specialising in tofu and vegan food I would have expected there to be cakes and cookies rather than slithers of chocolate tart for £5. It just seemed more basic and less indulgent if you catch my drift. Anyway maybe it is nicer than it looks, I didn't end up getting anything.

I can't fault them - Edit
Honestly.
Read moreWe visited Norwich for a couple of days and went to Tofurei a few times because it was so good.
Food is the nicest tofu I've ever eaten made into so many delicious things we tried: ramen, sushi bowl, pesto orzo bowl, a teriyaki wrap, a chicken salad style sandwich, a sausage roll, their McBluffin and a lovely vegan cheese pasty. They make their own tofu which is blooming impressive!
WONDERFUL coffee and tasty smoothies.
Gorgeous building with loads of seating. Modern lights, rustic wooden features, plants and pigeons (not live - art) throughout. Lovely place to sit, and have some food. We saw all sorts of people come in, be welcome and enjoy what they had ordered. The staff are lovely, so friendly, happy to help and are clearly passionate about where they work. Service was very quick even when it was busy at weekend lunchtime.
Last and not least, they sell some fantastic shirts and a tote bag. The designs are very unique and keeping with the pigeon theme, it was a struggle to decide which ones to take home.
I'd strongly recommend visiting or ordering from them, I don't think you will be disappointed. I can't think of a bad thing to say, other than I'm sad I didn't buy and of their cakes/buns/etc. because they looked brilliant.
Pros: Homemade tofu - best I've had, Variety of options (healthy but also some treats), Beautiful cafe, pigeon focus and fab merch

Great space - Edit
We’d last visited Tofurei in their original venue which was tiny so it was fantastic to see them in this great space. Lots of seating upstairs. The reason for the low stars was the porridge bowl we both had for breakfast this morning. It’s described as porridge, it is anything but. There was a load of granola some fruit and eventually a small sticky blob of what maybe should be the porridge. It was so unenjoyable and I was contemplating leaving it when I decided to go ask for some oat milk. Thankfully they did give me a portion of oat milk and we were both able to make the food easier to go down.

Great place in the middle of the old town to drop by for either a lunch, quick snack or some cake and coffee. The place has a wonderfully, almost Christmas-like, ambience and the waitress was very friendly. The prices are also very reasonable.
