Very tasty bowl of food

I had the Street Corn En Fuego bowl, which was a tasty collection of corn, salsa, rice, avocado, and jalapeño cabbage.

Perfect light lunch

This restaurant is so cute and the food was delicious. Ordered the two tacos, two sides, and a drink. Had the Baja Chipotle tacos with adobo tofu and vegan mozzarella, and black beans and Spanish rice for sides. The tacos are street tacos so they’re small, but they were very flavorful. The beans were good but the rice was just a little dry. The strawberry basil limeade was very refreshing. If you’re looking for a bigger dish, my husband had a burrito, with tofu and vegan cheese, and it was pretty big and filling.

Perfect for Vegans, Veggies, and Omnis

Vegan food that doesn't feel like it! I love big, hearty meals and Tocaya delivers. Everything is customizable and equally delicious. I also love spicy food- so often I find vegan food to be too bland, but the chipotle dusted tofu along with the jalapeño tortilla and salsa trio are amazing flavors with enough kick for me! The burritos and bowls are big and filling, the tacos are pretty small so better for a snack if you're not too hungry. Their drinks are also delicious but a little pricy for me.

If you try one thing, get the plantain chips! Sounds weird to dip bananas in salsa, but trust me, they got it right. Unique flavor combo but it's absolutely delicious.

Pros: Unique options & flavors, Filling, hearty food, Good value for the price

Cons: Drinks are a little expensive

delicious with lots of vegan options

Everything starts out as vegan on the menu and then you add protein and cheese (vegan and non-vegan options). Salads, bowls, tacos, guac were all great. Tacos are small so don't get if hungry but bowls and salads are filling. Vegan items are clearly marked on menu. It's a casual, order first then find a table type of place.

Pros: organic, vegan, fresh, healthy

Great Vegan Options

This place is a gem. Vegan options galore. Beware the tacos are very small - but the cashier that takes your order is sure to let you know this ahead of time so there's no surprises. The vegan breakfast burrito was bomb.

Has vegan cheese and spiced tofu

Saw this place on Happycow and decided to give it try. Here's my Tocaya Organica review.

Typically I don't like to eat at meat restaurants, but the menu here looked vegan-friendly. For the tacos and burritos you could choose spiced tofu or salty pea-veg mix plus a kind of vegan cheese (3 varieties).

My friend and I share several tacos using the vegan proteins and cheeses; the tostada with tofu; and plantain chips with gucamole. Overall the taste is good though on the spicy side so not suitable for children.

My one complaint is that the soyrizo is very salty and I had to pick it off my taco.

Pros: vegan friendly

Cons: most items spicy, pea mix salty

tiny portions

Tiny portions and kinda unsatisfying. It's a shame.

Well made, well priced

Had a great bowl at Tocaya the other day. Really helpful and friendly staff (with amazing hair might I add) and the food was both filling and delicious. The only recommendation I would ad to fellow vegans out there is to stick with the basic bowls since neither the tofu nor the vegan mozzarella was THAT interesting.

all organic, vegan friendly, but...

I came here on the recommendation of a friend and wanted to try their tacos and guacamole. As it was taco Tuesday they had a deal and I ordered a lot.
Overall, I was happy that the menu which was labelled well and denoted what was vegan. Actually, everything but one item was vegan by default.
Their protein options left something to be desired though, as soy chirizo and tofu were the only two vegan options. They could easily add a few more options. (I'm personally not big on soy). Everything was spicy, and I enjoyed the food. The guacamole was good, not mind-blowing, and think I prefer the corn over plantain chips (which were quite hard). However, maybe because of eating too much I didn't feel great after.

Pros: vegan option, Venice Beach location
