Tasty Vegan Tacos - Edit
Came in for a quick bite based on reviews. I asked the guy up front and he recommended a few tacos that can be made vegan. I wasn’t expecting much but they were really good. Will come back.

Hands down, the best vegan tacos I ever had! Drinks were amazing as well. Very friendly staff. Loved it so much I went there twice during my vacation! Would give them 5 stars if Happy Cow allowed it.

Delicious! - Edit
Plenty of vegan options, food so fresh tasting, not too spicy. Loved the fried plantain chips with guac as an alternative to the usual tortilla chips. This is always my go to spot when staying in Santa Monica or Venice. It also makes a nice change to not be overfaced with mountains of food, good portion sizes. Friendly staff.

I’ve been here many times but not always this location. The burrito mexicano is my favorite thing to order here. Overall their food is alright.

It’s fine. - Edit
I am concerned for those who commented that this is the best Mexican food they have ever had.
Read moreThis is good food @ LA coast prices, but do not go here and expect to have a transformative experience, lmao.
That being said, the patio is a nice vibe, and it’s not far from the beach, so give it a shot.

Very nice - Edit
The menu was a bit confusing… i didn’t know that the restaurant wasn’t 100% vegan so i ordered the fajita bowl with the chef’s recommendation but it came with chicken and cheese that wasn’t vegan so that sucked… but they easily replaced the bowl with a vegan version that included chickn made out of soy and vegan spicy jack cheese i think… yum—

BEST MEXICAN FOOD WE HAVE HAD! - Edit
I tried eating lots of Mexican food in USA (because Mexican food is simply everywhere!) but since this place has vegan options it has been my GO-TO place every time I visit USA! It allows me to be vegan without the hassle and is one of my favourite cuisine. (Normally Chinese is the easiest option in other countries)

Good food, plenty of vegan options for tacos and burritos fillings. Also had a good deal on which meant we had tacos, sides and margaritas for $15 each!

Amazing vegan tacos. Burrito next time. - Edit
Vegan and non-vegan options. The vegan options are almost all clearly listed and not "incidentally vegan". My wife (non-vegan) did get the street corn as a side and it did have cotija cheese on it which the menu there doesn't mention but the website does. Most everything else on the menu such as cheeses and sauces are mentioned if they are vegan. I got a sweet corn tamale as a side which I was told was vegan after they checked. The menu there isn't clear on that but the website is. I could have jusy eaten a pile of the tamales alone. We both had tacos and they were amazing! We came for a vacation and there aren't many vegan options in our town so it was nice to have such great food and a menu full of options to pick from without having to research what might happen to accidentally be vegan and puck from one or two choices. The prices where just right and I feel like I got just the right amount of food for my money. I'm ok with cucumber water, though I prefer regular. My wife hates it but that's what they had for free in their dispenser. Their watermelon limeade tasted a bit cucumbery as well. Just an FYI for those that care. I will go back for a burrito next. The table next to us had one and it was huge and looked delicious. I can't remember the last time I had such a satisfying meal.

Delicious! - Edit
If I need to choose my favorite place to eat in LA, Tocaya will be the first on the list! Best prices for the best vegan burritos that I found. I visited two different locations (the one in Venice and the other in West Hollywood), and I loved both equally. The one in Venice is more quiet, more familiar and cozy; the one in West Hollywood is on the Sunset Boulevard, but have a beautiful outside area that it's nice to sit and eat. I tried two burritos and also the quinoa bowl, and everything was delicious, even the strawberry lemonade and the margaritas. Absolutely recommend!
