Serves meat, vegan options available. Roast restaurant & pub chain - be warned that it's a carvery and is primarily meat-centered, but there will be vegan menu options, which may vary from season to season. Sample vegan choices might be an allotment pie, vegetable roast, grilled aubergine stack, and/or mushroom tart. Or you could order a few sides to make a full meal, like choosing the roast potatoes, stuffing, apple sauce, cranberry sauce, mint sauce, etc. Help yourself to vegetables from the carvery next to the meat: will provide non-buttered vegetables on request. Open Mon-Sun 08:00-21:30.

That is the question! Works Christmas meal. Vegan option (an acceptable mushroom and spinach pie). Good selection of vegetables. Vegan gravy. The highlights were the roast potatoes and parsnips. Would have been nice to be able to avoid the meat queue and go straight to the veg. Duty done for another year at least.

An uncomfortable experience - Edit
I've been to a few branches of Toby Carvery and enjoyed each meal but this one in particular was an uncomfortable experience. We visited as a party of 7 (3 of which were vegan) but on arrival there was an issue with our reservation so we had to wait to be seated, as we declined to sit on two different tables.
Read moreOnce resolved, we ordered the mushroom and ale pie with veg and were told that once the pies were ready they would be kept separate away from the carvery, which they were. However, it was the inappropriate and disrespectful remarks from staff, when asking what veg was vegan friendly that I took issue with. As a paying customer I don't expect that, whether I am vegan or not.
The meal itself was really good and the vegan friendly veg and gravy were pointed out to us, but the whole experience just put a dampener on the meal and we were glad to leave in the end.
