New favourite spot

It’s a small place, but really adorable. Food is reasonably priced and it comes out quickly. We got the taquitos and the cowgirl burger!

Greasy goodness

I don’t often go for fried/greasy foods, but his place is an exception for sure.

Punk rock vegan, not bad

The food here is not bad. We had the spinach and artichoke taquitos, I had the breakfast sandwich plus nacho cheese, and my friend had the tofu scramble. Sizable portions for the first meal of the day; definitely not a complaint.
The only thing we feel needs improvement was the scramble in both of our dishes. They were just too salty for our palates.
I’d come back if I’m drunk. It seems like it’d be great drunk food.
If you like flavorful vegan junk food and punk rock music, you won’t be disappointed.

Pros: Sizable portions, Great flavor

Cons: “Eggs” slightly too salty

Cozy vegan comfort

Cozy compact cute bistro-style space serving really good 100% Vegan food in filling portions at very affordable prices. Ethically sourced, locally where possible. Friendly courteous engaging knowledgeable personnel. Fresh, hand cut fries. Except for buns, from a local vegan bakery, everything made in house, including smooth creamy cheeses and sauces. Recommend highly the bbq jackfruit salad, also available as sandwich or wrap; smoky, well seasoned, moist slightly sweet sauce. The fried cauliflower was also a standout, excellent hot, & just as good cold for a snack the next day. Good travel food. Non vegan dining companions enjoyed the gyro, tofu scramble wrap, cheeseburger. Only complaint was that texture of sunshine burger was softer than expected; it was tasty, but not burger texture to her. Everyone raved about the fries.
We passed on desserts, but will leave room for them on next visit.
Clean unisex bathroom. Vintage decor with wood plank tables, benches; 70s themed martial arts posters on the walls, punk rock music in background, low volume so no interference with conversations. Very small space, so expect close contact if dining in. Take out & delivery available. Reusable dishes, utensils, cups for dining in, comfortable take out containers. Palm-oil free.

Pros: Delicious, well seasoned, affordably priced food, 100% vegan, Ethically conscious, environment friendly

Cons: Very small space

Yum!

Cute little place in Brooklyn. Seating is limited. We got the fried pickles (so sour!), sunshine burger, and b-fast bun to go. I have to say I was most impressed with the bun. The bread, lentil burger, and Burmese tofu reminded me of siopao buns I used to eat before going meatless. Everything was tasty. Server I spoke with when picking up my food was cheerful. I would definitely return. P.S. there is a new vegan cafe called Familiars that opened up right across the street!

Heavenly vegan comfort food

I love Toadstyle, definitely try the fried pickles in house, if you take them away they get a little soggy but still good. Can’t go wrong on this menu really.

Pros: Lots of mushrooms on the menu , Amazing cashew cheese , Casual

Cons: Limited seating

Comfort food

Good comfort food, with burgers and the like. I’ve had a few of their sandwiches and really liked them. In general the food is great, but my one disappointment was the fried pickle. It was just a giant dill pickle cut into quarters, lightly battered, and deep fried. There was too little batter given the size of the pickle and it didn’t really adhere well, so it was just like eating an expensive (and hot) dill pickle. They’re open late, which is nice, but sometimes there’s a bit of a wait.

Palm-Oil Free Perfection

I ate the lentil burger, with arugula and tomato, on a pretzel bun. Fries were perfectly seasoned, and rainbow cookies tasted like the kind your grandma used to make. What gave me the most joy, however, was that this sweet spot is truly dedicated to animal welfare. They are palm oil free!

Pros: Great food, Palm-oil free, Good environment

Just OK

When I choose to eat out and find vegan junk food, I really want to feel satisfied and fully indulge. With this expectation in mind, Toad Style disappointed me. I had fries, greek salad, gyro, sunshine burger.
Sunshine burger was just too mushy, not the right combination of textures The sauce was flavorful but the overall bite was not. The pretzel bread was nice and soft but the overall textures and flavors were did not make for a satisfying bite. Fries were dark with no seasoning. Gyro had the tzaziki sauce and the mushrooms but was still so bland. I had higher expectations. Gyro was bland and watery. The best thing was the salad, but the portion size should have been bigger.
Music was alternative indie rock.

Their “healthy” dishes are great, too!

When I ate here I was trying to avoid the deep fried stuff and eat healthy. I had the tomato bisque soup-spicy and delicious. I also had the Greek salad which was terrific. This place is great.

Delicious!

Their coconut crusted oyster mushroom banh mi is good. Not too crazy about the BBQ jackfruit tacos (mainly because I despise soft shells). My absolute favorites from them, however, are their fried cauliflower and the Sunshine Burger! Those are delicious!

Pros: Well-seasoned food

Cons: Their restaurant isn't suitable for dining. Small.

Hand cut fries tossed in rosemary and salt. Fried dark but not burnt. Pittsburgh people may recognize the similarity between Toad Style’s Fries and Wise Potato Chips. Fries served with house made ketchup sweet oniony pickled and runny. Chipped ham bbq, Yinz!

Gyro spicy savory saucy meaty mushrooms tossed in crisp romaine w/ loads of red onion rolled in a grilled fluffy chewy pita. Absolute gyro hit. Damn nice sandwich!

Philly molten gooey melange of smoked cashew and almond cheeses covered porto mushrooms and grill seasoned onions and peppers between a seasoned garlic crusty baguette. F*ck Yes, Thank You Toad Style!!!

Delicious sandwiches!

We came here for lunch on a day that I wasn’t feeling particularly well. We both had the Casino Dog which featured yeah dawgs. It was tasty and filling. There is a small space to sit down there. Would have tried other things if only we’d had the time.

A Treat for the tastebuds.

I had a sandwich and cashew cheese fries. One bite of the sandwich and at that moment, I never wanted any other food to enter my mouth again. If taste is the main concern, this place is a winner.

Crunchy

Really great food and the price is what you can expect from a vegan joint like this. I love that they have Pilot Kombucha! For price range, I would say around $20 for burger, fries, and a drink

Pros: -not a lot of vegan food in area, -great burger with housemade cashew cheese, -cool environment

Cons: -gentrification, -pretty pricey

Wonderful

I tried the jackfruit sandwich, the banh mi, the sunshine burger, and my first Yeah Dawg, along with cheese fries and fried pickles. I thought everything was wonderful. The atmosphere is cool, although the chairs and seating, like in most vegan establishments, are for skinny people.

Pros: Big portions, great options

Cons: Kind of expensive

best breakfast sandwich of my life

Tiny, casual place serving up all vegan, soy free sandwiches. They have GF options and the staff were super friendly. i got the breakfast sandwich which was honestly one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. Would recommend! oh also they were playing afro-beat and projecting old Kung fu movies so how could you go wrong.

Pros: all vegan, allergy friendly

Cons: not a lot of seating

Toad Style Yeah!

Toad Style isn't trying to be fancy, but if well honed sandwiches, deep fried whatever and credible homemade vegan cheese is your crave then trek out here. I'm giving them five stars because they play vintage Kung Fu movies and pump 80s underground rap. I felt like I was back in the EV. Only this ain't no Life Café. More like a squat. Their Greek feta salad was killa though.

Pros: nice variety of really yum sandwiches, great deep fry, credible taste to the homemade vegan cheese

Cons: great deep fry, if it gets crowded you can't see through the wall

This place is amazing!

What the heck if you didnt give this place 5 stars, its soooooo good! Give it a try! What I like about a place that deep fries things is I wouldnt do that at home and so its a treat. The flavors are great and well thought out and thank goodness no daiya! Love this place!

Pros: make their own cheese

Cons: it's addictive

best vegan choice in this neighborhood

Nothing earth shattering on the menu but what they have is well done. I had the bbq jackfruit with grilled slaw sandwich, plenty of flavour and deep texture. Ambience is nothing special so go for the crunk or not at all.

Pros: all vegan, junk-y

Cons: junk-y

Meh...

Unfortunately I don't have too many positive things to say about this place. Most of their menu items are deep fried, the cheese sauce is too salty and they really only specialize in vegan junk food. If you're in the mood for junk food and In Brooklyn (this location is in a a bit of an obscure neighborhood), I guess it couldn't hurt to try it. I don't live in Brooklyn and made a special trip and wouldn't trek it again.

There are better places to do the "vegan junk food" thing like Champs, Red Bamboo, or Chef Chloe.

Pros: Fast service

Cons: Restaurant space is very basic , Deep fried EVERYTHING

delicious mock philly cheese steak

Went there today for the first time and had the best mock philly cheese steak ever... And the cheese fries are out of this world. Only draw back was no bottled water, I'm fine with Tap but not everyone likes fruit flavors in their water, so that was disappointing. Would love to go back to try their burger and eggplant parm.
