The waitstaff was really helpful with letting me know what sauces were vegan. Food was delicious! Healthy too. Cute, little restaurant with outdoor seating a few blocks from the beach. I had the quinoa wrap and it was so good. Their salsas and guac are delicious too
Read moreUpdate: came back February 2022 and they had a couple more vegan options. I had the sofritos burrito and when I said no cheese and no dairy, they said”ok, vegan then” and they pushed the vegan button. Nice that they can accommodate that.

Great Caribbean fusion place with vegan options. We got veggie sofrito burrito with no dairy. It comes with chips and salsa. Definitely one of the best tasting burritos! Our sever was so sweet and friendly. They have a nice tiki patio area. Bonus: ice cream shop next door has vegan options! 😋

I had both the sofrito bowl and sofrito salad and both were incredible! You can opt for the vegetarian filling and omit cheese and non-vegan options. I highly recommend the maduros (sweet plantains) that were to die for. I also appreciate their emphasis on conservation.

I ordered the Sofrito Burrito with the Vegetarian filling (comprised of sautéed kale, green peppers and onions) and asked them to hold all the dairy ingredients. The person taking my order over the phone was very friendly and from the way she handled my request it was likely not a new thing for her. The burrito was delicious and massive. The rice and beans were the star of the burrito and the side of maduros were amazing as well. Technically maduros are a side but in practice they are very dessert-like. The spices and flavors are the unique attraction to this style of cooking. I would easily go back and explore the menu.

I was worried since no one has reviewed in awhile but it was great! Mine was veggie but I bet they can easily make it vegan. Great out door seating, right downtown. Go here for sure! Best meal I’ve had on vacation so far. Pretty good prices too!

Eco friendly small restaurant - Edit
I tried the Quinoa Bowl and it really was delicious. The staff is very friendly, helpful and patient (my son needed a while to make his choice 😉). Compared to most other restaurants we have been during our stay the last week this restaurant tries its very best to be eco friendly but unfortunately they still use non reusable plastic cups for the soft drinks of the kids😕

The menu is a little small for vegans. I tried the quinoa bowl, which was delicious, with black beans, salsa and guacamole, and mango sauce. The sides were pretty small- I got two small pieces of plain rain (given how yummy they were, I could’ve done with more) and a small amount of lettuce as my “side salad”, all served in the same bowl. I might come back if I’m in the area, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

The sofritas salad is ur best vegan option. HUGE portions and delicious. Plantains are awesome here. Very friendly staff and pro-turtles makes this place a keeper. They were against straws before being against straws was cool! If ur vegetarian, you’ll do great here. If you’re vegan, you have to veganize everything on the menu, but the food is great so it’s worth it. Just seems like it’d be SO EASY for them to have an entire section of straight up vegan dishes on the menu, I’m surprised they don’t.

Read moreHad the quinoa bowl and the sofritas kale salad. Both were super tasty. Told the waitress to make me vegan and it was no problem. We had our dogs so we were able to sit our front and enjoy the sunshine.
Check out the floor when you walk in, it’s beautiful!

Cute Local Place - Edit
I love supporting cute local places like this. I noticed they do not serve with plastic straws for conservation reasons and I think that is so cool. There are basically only 2 labeled vegetarian options on the menu but once we told the server we were vegan she said she would make sure there was no dairy in our meal. I think this place would be flexible with making some other dishes vegan friendly. 🙂
