Excellent lunch for our 50th wedding anniversary

We are regulars here because it’s our favourite slightly upmarket restaurant. It has a leisurely pace so food and company can be savoured. It has a lovely outlook over a stream and open countryside. Not the place to come if you’re on your hour’s lunch break.

There was no doubt we would choose it for our golden wedding anniversary meal with the family. Not least because of the 20 guests 25% were VEGAN. The School House catered for them as a matter of routine as it has a separate Vegan MENU see photo. The choices for everyone else were good and varied. Everyone enjoyed the meal and unhurried service. Bowls of vegetables were served as a matter of routine. I’m not sure if they serve chips as veg is the norm for everyone. It worked a treat as we knew it would. We chose to have 4 tables in a square so that we could see everyone. It was in a separate section at the end of the main restaurant behind glass doors. Three courses are £20 in the week more expensive at the weekend. Two courses is the minimum.

We had drinks on the patio before and lingered there afterwards. Perfect!
