The Retreat Animal Rescue Farm Sanctuary is a haven for hundreds of animals, visiting on an open day is highly recommended, seeing the animals here, living free from the chains of modern farming and not threatened with death will only boost your vegan beliefs.

Amazing day out - Edit
We stayed for a night in one of the lodges which is a great idea to capture the sanctuary at all hours. It really is a hive of activity and billy and his helpers do not stop.
Read moreThe relaxed atmosphere was lovely to behold and we got to stroll around the place in the evening saying hello to all the residents. The lack of WiFi and tv was a bonus.
The next day we got to experience the public experience and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. It’s a great day out for adults and children alike. The fact that it is free speaks of the generous nature of Billy.
The cafe is a must, obviously all vegan with great selection and huge portions. Plenty of snacks to take away also if you have no room left.
We will definitely be back to support this wonderful cause.
Pros: Animal tastic , Friendly folk everywhere, Great food
Cons: None

How can you sum up this is experience in a review? - Edit
GO THERE. Myself and my partner were lucky enough to be able to travel to this animal sanctuary and fully vegan cafe for a day out and it is an experience we will never forget. The sanctuary itself is free enrtry, but you can make donations and buy items in the cafe and shop. The sanctuary has rescued animals, some ex-pets (like when pigs get too pig for families) and some rescued from the meat and dairy industries. I will never forget meeting Harrison the male dairy cow and his adopted mum, Princess. The pigs are delightful, they have so much room and they come say hello to you and play ball with each other. there are horses, donkeys, cows, sheep, goats, turkeys, chickens and ferel cats- sometimes there are dogs too. It is so worth a visit i can't even explain. We had lunch and a sweet treat there too, tried the new Moving mountains burger- YUM! It's a really good postion and they have VEGAN MAYO and tons of other sauces available. We also got a gorgeous lemon cake with squirty cream. The cafe has always been fully vegan because "we don't save them to serve them". You can stay the night in one of their glamping lodges too!
Read morePros: Wide selection of food, sauces, drinks, desserts.., THE ANIMALS!!!! they're everywhere! and so sweet!, coffee machine, tea was in a big cup gorgeous

Good range of vegan snacks (mostly sandwiches and cakes). And it's in a unique location, surrounded by friendly cockerel, ducks, cats and other rescued animals. An uplifting experience, which kids seem to love too.

Simply awesome!! - Edit
Fantastic food! It’s a must!! If you in the area surely drop by for a vegan bite. And to think that all funds go to rescuing animals and looking after them till they find a forever home, then it’s a no brainer. The team running The Retreat is the most amazing group of people I’ve ever met. Their love, compassion and dedication to animals is phenomenal💗

Incredible day out! Inspiring! - Edit
This place is so peaceful. We visited today on a family open day so busier than usual and the cafe has a smaller menu to cater for the large crowds of people.
Read moreDogs are welcome as long as they are on leads. My little Annie loved it.
The best thing about the retreat is to see all the animals healthy and happy. The retreat has the largest amount of rescued pigs in the UK (over 150). The retreat is set over 50 acres in the stunning Kent countryside. All profit goes to taking care of the animals and the cafe is 100% vegan.
I'm looking forward to going back again. In quieter periods you are allowed to go inside to meet the animals with a member of staff, so will update my review then.
100% recommend going, lovely staff and a wonderful way to see happy animals living out there days with love and care.
Pros: 100% vegan, Meeting rescued animals , lovely staff
Cons: None, go there now!
