Delicious vegan in pub with separate kitchen - Edit
This lovely pub is a Must visit in Killarney! They not only have several vegan options on the menu, they also have a separate vegan kitchen to avoid cross contamination.
Read moreWe were not that hungry and shared the 3 vegan starters with the 3 of us. Cauliflower wings, nachos and stuffed mushrooms. All were very tasty and quite a big portion.
Staff is very friendly and the location is super cosy with each table having it's own separate booth.
As this place is amazing, it can get crowdy so make sure to book a table in advance.
We returned later in the week to enjoy the delicious cauliflower wings again and try out the main dishes. The pasta was very spicy so be warned. The risoty was absolutely devine!!

Gastropub with vegan on the menu - Edit
Really delighted with this pub. It had two starters and 3 mains that were vegan. There was a promise on the menu that there was a plant based kitchen too. I had a penne pasta with cashew creamy sauce which was really tasty. Staff were lovely. The pub is really nice too. Definitely worth a visit

Wish I could give 5 stars - Edit
We went door to door to each pub in Killarney checking the menus and this pub had the most and the best looking vegan options. I am so happy we ate here! We shared the potato skins starter and I had the pesto tagliatelle which was to die for. Partner had the vegetarian fajitas which he scored 10/10. I've never seen a pub with such an interesting range of vegan foods and options (vegan cheese, vegannaise, etc.). We really loved it! Apparently the menu has changed a bit since re-opening post-covid.

Menu with various vegan options. Had cheesy potato skins and the vegan burger- both were delicious. Cauliflower wings are on the menu but sadly they were sold out when we ate there.

Super Delicious - Edit
Fantastic food although options are very limited. The tagliatelle was amazing - best thing I've had since I arrived in Ireland five days ago. It's worth going there just for this dish. We followed our waitress' advice and split one order - with the large side salad it was more than enough. Truth be told, I could have eaten the whole thing myself but then I would be overly stuffed and feeling guilty.

Chocolate cake & ice cream! - Edit
On holiday in Killarney & this was the best vegan dessert option I’ve found in town so far! They have a lovely chocolate cake with fudge & ice cream😄there is also a toffee which I did not try. They have vegan food too but I only came here for dessert.

9/10 times it’s great - Edit
This place is a regular haunt on trips to Killarney as it offers a full vegan range of starters, mains and desserts. It’s nearly always good, but I’ve had a few meals that seemed to drop the bar a little.. it doesn’t stop me from going back though!

I was very impressed with the quantity and quality of vegan options here. We learned that the owner is vegan and has introduced vegan cuisine to the restaurant, that belongs to her family. She talked with us for a while and even asked for feedback on all the dishes we tried - great!
Read moreWe had the potato skins, the portobello mushrooms, the nut roast and the beetroot tart. All of the dishes tasted great and the portions were really generous. Luckily I brought my hungry boyfriend as I couldn’t have finished a starter main. My favorites were the mushrooms!
We also found out, that this restaurant has a separate vegan area in the kitchen to avoid cross contamination, which is a big plus.
100 % recommended.
Pros: Beautiful restaurant , Lots of vegan options, Quality of food

A miss - Edit
I went to Porterhouse alone one evening and had a rather dry nut loaf but enjoyed the vegan gravy. I went back the next night with four friends from my tour group and they were delighted to see me bring more people. I ordered the potato skins which were fantastic and the vegan pasta (marked as vegan on the menu). Just as I was about to take a taste, the waitress came up and told me to stop; the pasta isn’t vegan as it contains egg. She then said that they had nothing left on the menu that was suitable for vegans as the nut load was sold out. They offered to make me another meal that was off menu that was vegan and I was seriously disappointed. I got another serving of potato skins, a salad and a half dozen mushroom caps. It was also another twenty minutes to get my meal which was awkward for the other diners at my table who were already served their meals. Seems that they switched suppliers and have egg pasta but haven’t changed the menu to reflect that. Considering that egg can be a major allergen, they really should be more aware of what they are serving.

5 star worthy ! - Edit
We have been road tripping around Ireland for a week now and this is by far our favorite restaurant. Live music, great decoration, great staff and most importantly great food ! The potato skins as mentioned in previous comments are amazing ! We then had the Red pesto tagliatelles which are delicious as well (Violife cheese and Happy Pear pesto) We strongly recommend it and would have put 5stars if possible ! Ask for Denise, she’s a star !

Awesome vegan potato skins. - Edit
First time in about 30 years that I have had potato skins. These were fantastic. Not sure how they could make the potato stuffing part so creamy. There was nothing to substitute for the cheddar cheese, but there was a great vegan sour cream-like dip.

I had the vegan roast and chocolate cake! They didn’t have the pesto for the pasta which was my original order, but I thought my meal was beautiful regardless ☺️ my non vegan partner enjoyed a place where we can both ❤️

Great options marked on the menu! - Edit
Stopped in twice, once for dinner and once for an app and a pint. Both times we were VERY pleased with our meals. Their vegan potato skins are to die for, need to find that cheese and ship it back to the states!! Their vegan nut roast, potatoes, and tagliatelle are all on point. The staff were wonderful and knowledgeable about other options they could do. No reason not to go here in you’re in Killarney and want a nice sit down meal. I’d consider flying back to Ireland just for the potato skins, no B.S.
