Not spitting ‘Feathers’ over this meal

A sharing lunch in The Feathers to fill up before hitting the road. Ordered the Black Truffle Mac N Cheese, Shredded Jackfruit and Hoisin Spring Roll, Halloumi Tempura, Onion Rings and Hot Chocolate with Oat Milk.

The Black Truffle Mac N Cheese was a traditional macaroni looking bowl of pasta, but it had a parsley crumb on top with a scattering of watercress. It was drier than I’d hoped but it didn’t detract at all. It came with warm ciabatta and a side salad drizzled with maple and mustard sauce. £16

The Shredded Jackfruit and Hoisin Spring Roll was amazing. It was hot, packed full of veggies and crispy. There was only one but it was a big roll so I’m not spitting ‘Feathers’ about it. £8

The Halloumi Tempura was really good. It had a nice bite to it, crispy, light and dipped in the chilli jam it was uplifting. £6

The Onion Rings speak for themselves when you see the photo. Big, massive, double or perhaps triple dipped for a big bite. £5 is a lot for onion rings but they were worth it.

Hot Chocolate with Oat Milk. £3.20. Very chocolatty with a Feathers motif on top.

Not a cheap meal by any means but it was good and it tasted as good as it looks in the photos.

Pros: Nice vegan options , Nice location

Cons: Expensive, Busy place so you’ll have to wait

Nice place

There were 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 sandwiches and 2 desserts marked on the menu as suitable for vegans which I thought was a good selection as they only have a relatively small menu.

Food was really tasty, service was good and meals arrived promptly. One of the waiters was vegan too! 😁

Menu looks interesting

I haven't eaten yet but took photos of the menu and hopefully will try something later this year. This whole area of Yorkshire is an otherwise vegan desert.

Pros: items well marked on the menu

Cons: seems a bit expensive but is probably cheffy
