Stopped by for Linner on the road. Delicious special green curry and BBQ Jackfruit sandwich with mac n cheese. So rare to get vegan Mac n cheese. Everything was tasty! Waitstaff were incredibly kind and generous. Good vibe to the place.

Amazing all-vegan food - Edit
So happy to have an all-vegan restaurant in Bellingham. This is definitely one to try here. Amazing food, delicious and healthy, love trying new things every time. The Umami bowl (one of the pictures) is my absolute favorite. Wonderful service as well. Love supporting a small local business!

Adorable restaurant, delicious food!! - Edit
My partner and I went here recently and we both loved it! She got one of the sushi rolls and I got the pulled jackfruit sandwich. I’m so glad they added the jackfruit sandwich, i’m a picky eater and not the hugest fan of whole food esque foods, so i’m glad they had multiple options that I would like! Delicious, would absolutely recommend!!

Delish! - Edit
Friendly spot run by a couple and their adult kids. Everything was delicious. Biscuits-and-mushroom-gravy and dip trio were especially great. Rad, airy space with big windows and lots of light. A little pricey but well worth it!

Clean space, friendly staff - Edit
The food was okay and the prices seemed slightly high. Presentation was fair. The rice was served with an unappetizing-looking orange/pink sauce on top, but it tasted okay. Some temperature issues.

great, all-vegan restaurant! - Edit
From reading the reviews, it looks like they have a changing menu, which is itself pretty exciting. When we were there, we each tried a different rice bowl -- I of course had the one with beets, given the name of the place! Really delicious, bold flavors. Came back later the same day for the mousse desert, yum. Everyone was super friendly. The walls were covered with a temporary exhibition of children's art and kids and their parents were coming in to see it and to photograph the kids next to their work -- cool to see that kind of community participation. They're new and I hope they do well!

Beautiful place - Edit
Great vegan eatery with comfy and bright interior. Very welcoming owner ladies with a lovely sense of humor. The hot cocoa with coconut whip is more on the very sweet side, but if you don’t mind the calories it’s delicious. The umami bowl is a good balance between rice, avocado, tofu and pickled veggies. Loved the nori sheets on the side. The state st. rolls were fabulous with extra fresh ginger. So yummy. Food that makes you feel good and is good for you as well.

And I don't even like sushi! - Edit
I am not a sushi person at all, never have been (it's the seaweed), but I really enjoyed everything we tried! Also had to get a mochi waffle. I used to make mochi waffles myself but I have a hard time finding it in stores now. It was beautiful and delicious topped with seasonal fruit. Want to try the poke nachos next time!

Decided to have dinner at a newly opened restaurant that I’ve been dying to go to because it’s owned by the fine folks that have blessed us with SconeGrown (@sconegrown, my favorite place in town for baked vegan treats. I will consume anything they produce. Even if it’s poisonous. Wait, am I in a cult? No…
Started with a Strawberry Rose Mule. Beautiful. Refreshing. I love mint. Ginger beer from Bright & Sunny (@brightandsunnygingerbeer). Great drink, that was totally fine without alcohol. Alcohol shmalcohol! Not everything needs to have alcohol in it. Alcohol abuse is dumb. Animal abuse is dumb. Strawberry Rose Mules are not dumb.
Poke Bowl was fantastic. I am still so astounded by the engineers who designed the “tuna” because the texture is indistinguishable with the real thing. And the bowl was perfectly designed and balanced with all the Poke Bowl goodness to mix around.
Veggie Roll with Miso Soup was amazing. I’ve had a lot of sushi in my life, but I’ve never had it quite like this. It had a unique coconut flavor to it that was refreshing, for sushi. The Miso Soup was warm and wonderful as well. My hands were particularly cold that day and it certainly warmed me up.
There are so many other dishes on the menu that I can’t wait to try, and I’m sure I’ll get a chance soon, especially as the weather gets nicer and my cravings for refreshing drinks/food increases!
Plus, Helga loves her new hat!
Pros: Everything’s Delicious, Great atmosphere, Healthy
Cons: On the pricey side, but worth it for occasions

Amazing! - Edit
This place is fantastic. The menu has a variety of items that are vegan, GF and soy free, and allium free. We brought a large party here, and they had menu items to suit all our dietary needs. The poke bowl is truly amazing, along with the hummus bowl. We each had different drinks, and all agree the strawberry rose mule is our favorite. They use local ingredients too. Woo hoo! I can’t wait to come back and work my way through the menu. So many great items to choose from!

Wonderful! - Edit
This restaurant is vegan, GF and organic. And delicious! A rare find indeed. I had the tofu musibis and macro bowl on my first visit. The next time I had the miso hummus platter. My partner had the nigiri platter on both visits. His favorite so far. It was all very good and I look forward to exploring the rest of the menu.

Obsessed! - Edit
This place opened a couple of weeks and I have already been twice. I have loved everything that I ordered. My favorites are the spicy Jackfruit roll, Pokè bowl, and cheesecake. Yum, yum, yum! The n/a drinks are fabulous as well! They use local supplies for many of their ingredients. The space is very nice and comfortable. I had the same server both times and they were terrific. If you order online you can choose to round up and donate to a local animal sanctuary. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Such A Disappointment/What A Shame - Edit
My partner and I were so very excited to try this place. A new all vegan spot downtown, what could be better?! We even lucked out, getting to dine there on opening night!
Read moreThe menu looked promising as well. While we did wait quite a while to receive water and talk to our server, that is totally understandable on opening night, and we were having a great time in the atmosphere. The chairs we were sat in were also velvet and comfy by the window. We ordered the mini tofu musubi’s as our appetizer, and ordered the poké bowl and the nigiri platter both to share.
To start with, the mini tofu musubi’s were embarrassingly bad. This was a huge disappointment to us especially because I grew up in Hawaii and grew up eating musubi’s. We had such high hopes, but they sadly were a disgrace to the name. The rice was not only unseasoned, but it wasn’t sticky and tasted old and hard. The nori or seaweed wrapped around the entire musubi was also prepared with low quality, and was soggy and at times chewy. The tofu itself, simply tasted bad, but honestly worse than that was the texture was mushy. For a vegan establishment, I was truly shocked that they didn’t know any simple vegan tricks to make the tofu a more pleasing texture.
We were again saddened to bite into our tiny nigiri plater and taste more bland mushy tofu trying to pass for tamago nigiri. I would recommend that they experiment with the spice Kala Namak, also known as Himalayan Black Salt, to achieve a more egg-like taste. Additionally, I really wish they would do anything other than just serve… raw cold mushy tofu. Again, the rice tasted unseasoned and old.
The only redeeming part of the meal was the Zeastar tuna in the poké bowl and the nigiri platter. It was truly delicious, beautiful, and had a wonderful texture. But unfortunately, that was only thanks to the company Zeastar I would assume.
I hope this place improves! I might come back in a while if they change things up! I implore them to hire a more experienced vegan chef.
Pros: All Vegan, Comfy Chair
Cons: Cheap ingredients/seasoning, Inexperienced Chef, No house-made dipping sauces
quantumleafbham
Hi, thank you for your patience on our opening night! We're so glad you enjoyed the atmosphere.
Read moreWe do season the rice and normally it is VERY sticky. I'm not sure if you got a bad scoop near the bottom or something. We will work to address this in the future. However, normally the rice is incredibly sticky, almost annoyingly so from the perspective of the person with it stuck on their gloves. Also as it is labeled on the menu, our musubis are oil free so they are not exactly a perfect spam replacement nor are they claiming to be.
Hilariously, we actually already use Black Salt. If that is what you recommend and you did not like our food, then maybe it is not a good recommendation from your perspective.
We're so glad you enjoyed the Zeastar! It actually tastes like nothing when you buy it from the company, so thank you! That's not even an insult to the company as they are not intending to send people already seasoned fish replacement. The point is to replicate the texture which they did a great job doing. We as the restaurant marinate the Zeastar. So no, fortunately you actually just loved our deliciously seasoned poké!
I noticed in your con list that you claimed that we use cheap ingredients and seasoning which is simply not true. We use multiple amazing local companies to supply our ingredients at a much higher financial cost to us (although we believe it is very much worth the quality). This includes the organic tofu you disliked so much. We also handmake all of our sauces, so I'm not sure why you said we have no house-made dipping sauces.
I am sure we will improve! No restaurant remains the same quality and keeps the same menu that they had on their opening night! That being said a lot of people said this was the best vegan food they have ever had so we wouldn't want to change the menu too much!
Funniest part of the whole review: "I implore them to hire a more experienced vegan chef." I rate this line 5/5 stars for hilariousness. The chef is the co-owner and my wife. She has won national awards for her recipes at our other restaurant. We will not be firing my wife/herself any time soon, but that would be pretty funny if we did.
P.S. my wife has Hawaiian ancestry. She has family there and has been there many times. Her middle name is Hokulani (in response to your growing up in Hawaii).
