Not advertised as veggie but there are options - Edit
The staff was very helpful overall.
Read moreOat & almond milk for drinks.
I hesitate in sharing this & choose to explain why not 4 stars & a heads up to fellow veggie lovers on lessons in clear kind communication of your needs:
Not sure if the later opening (than posted hrs) or just not a good morning for Barb w/ Barb’s Bites (the food offered at Elk Brew). She originally seemed authentically happy to offer to create a gluten free avocado toast (based off of an initial conversation about a waffle sandwich & a croissant sandwich in the case) w/ fresh veggies (she clarified more than once that she had gluten free bread in the freezer).
Lesson learned for me to have the creator of the food to repeat back what they are creating in their impassioned head (also when they are doing so many other things-adjusting Point of Sale, etc).
Especially when they are generously taking on the challenge to please a guest who isn’t able to easily eat what’s ready for purchase (very accommodating staff).
I only got a big yummy plate of potatoes & veggies, gratefully.
Unfortunately, for me, I was expecting the original gluten free bread to be on my plate in some way in her creation. I was originally delighted by what she was going to kindly, create for me. Not sure if she bit off more than she could chew? Stress?
Then got what felt like an uncomfortable fierce, anxious, inauthentic forced friendly, defensive (this IS a very friendly and kind establishment) approach of repeated & insistence of being asked if I wanted to place an additional order of gluten free avocado toast (she wasn’t willing to honor the perspective that the gluten free bread was the star of the conversation all along; as I tried to communicate to better understand where the transaction went sideways), as I was eating my meal. And no offer for the bread to be added to my meal.
The barista, Riley & other customers were wondering where my gluten free bread was, as well (many heard the ongoing transaction). I even saw one of the customers later in the day & was asked if I got the bread that he knew I wanted all along (he was there for the whole transaction) & if I was pleased w/ my meal after how it evolved.
There are some veggie/vegan packaged salad options in the cooler.
This is a wonderful establishment & I might have stepped in while Barb was under some primary stress.
It might be best to go w/ what’s already prepared.
Excellent musicians & morning yoga!
