Perfect for brunch

Loved this place! The milkshakes are very tasty (and large!) and the Mac ‘n’ cheese is soo good. I also had the fried seitan and the cheesy fries. I clearly underestimated the portion sizes, so I was kindly offered a doggy bag by the lovely staff. Will be back!

Delicious junk food

Gorgeous food. Great variety. Ordered all the vegan sides and a Coney island dog. Ooh and a vegan hard shake. Eyes bigger than belly....the mac and cheese was delicious as were all the various fries.

Pros: Loads of options and lovely service.

Cons: Not the healthiest...😂

They Have a Vegan Menu

I had the Freakshow Seitan; loaded vegan fries; and the vegan Mac and cheese. They were all very good. The seitan could’ve been a bit more crispy in my opinion. The staff was very friendly.

One of my favourite places for vegan junk food!

Has such a huge vegan menu on offer (all dishes super delicious) 100% recommend the vegan chilli cheese fries, queso and chips and all the burgers. This place even does alcoholic vegan milkshakes! Perfect place for date night!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Good music , Lovely staff

Cons: Expensive

Amazing!

We ate here yesterday for my birthday, they were so accommodating. We’d been turned away somewhere else because of sever but allergies but the Diner reassured us that everything that came to our table was nut free. The food was amazing, as were the cocktails, and they didn’t rush us to leave even though they were busy. I had the southern seitan with waffles, and my mum had the Californian burger. The rest of our party had veggie/omni options.

Pros: Separate vegan/vegetarian menu, Average £12 per meal, Easy to get to

Cons: Very busy at lunchtime (book ahead!), Toilets are downstairs (disabled near the seats), Big step up into the restaurant

Huge portions!

Very impressed with the selection of vegan options. My wife had the vegan philly cheese steak and I had southern fried seitan. We had a side of fries topped with vegan cheese. Be warned, the portions are massive! It takes a lot of me to be defeated but I couldn’t finish it all! The seitan has got a lovely fluffy texture. Oh, and the vegan milkshakes are to die for! Staff were very friendly, couldn’t have been more attentive.

Pros: Good veggie vegan menu, Vegan pancakes and milkshakes!, Super friendly staff

Cons: Not the Cheapest

Best vegan fast food I have had

The vegan philly cheese steak is amazing. I would highly recommend this if you like faux meats as they have managed to get the seitan very meaty!

We liked this place so much we came back for breakfast. The eggs Benedict weren't particularly egg like (fried polenta and cashew sauce) but was still delicious. You need a big appetite for the pancakes as the portion size was huge.

The staff were also very friendly and food arrived quickly.

Good vegan options as long wheat is fine

Came here after eating at one of the other branches. Restaurant has that American diner interior. Service was friendly. Plenty of choice-as long as you are not allergic to gluten. There was literally nothing apart from fries and an underwhelming and over priced salad for my vegan bf who has to avoid gluten. Which is a shame as I would have liked to come back soon to try some of the breakfast/brunch items.

Meh.

The staff was friendly - they bring you a vegan menu without asking. Just a heads up: the menu has vegetarian options as well and vegan options should be more clearly marked. The vegetarian options had a small v, vegan options vg. We had seitan burgers, fries and cokes and paid £35 for it. I don’t think it was worth the money.

Pros: The vegan menu was ok, The staff is super friendly!

Cons: Not worth the money, Seitan steak had a weird consistency

Seitan and waffles: WOW!

I love sweet foods and I could have (sweet) breakfast food all day. However, adding something savoury to that is interesting and surprisingly tasty! I had the fried seitan with waffles and maple syrup. It came with slaw and onion rings. All was delicious, the waffles especially! I also shared some diner fries with my friend; they didn't last long.
It's so amazing to see such an exciting vegan menu at a non-vegan restaurant. Thumbs up for the Diner!

Pros: Cute atmosphere, Extensive vegan menu

Cons: Not all vegan

Seitan and syrup = happiness

It’s great to see that the vegan menu is spreading to more locations of The Diner. I had the seitan and waffles which included maple syrup, onion rings and slaw. Adding syrup to seitan needs to be done on a regular, it was delicious! Along side I had the chilli cheese fries and a coconut ripple milkshake, as you can imagine I was pretty full after! They are black bean and cheese fries rather than chilli but were tasty and the milkshake I felt was a bit on the pricey side. All in all was a good meal and look forward to trying more options.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Seitan and syrup is a thing

Cons: Some things are a bit over priced

Amazing Philly Cheesesteak!

I came here earlier this week before a show at the Southbank Centre and decided to try the vegan Philly cheesesteak, which was absolutely delicious - perfectly balanced textures and flavours. Very impressed!

nice vegan pancakes

The vegan pancakes are probably the only thing worth getting, the seitan burger isn't that nice

Huuuuuge servings.

Lovely welcome. Clear menu and massive portion of pretty good diner food! The waffles and seitan was strong in flavour which I liked and had a good crunch. The slaw is tangy from apple cider vinegar I think and good. Onion rings great. The Mac and Cheese is also tasty and even as a side dish, huge! The staff all very friendly and said I can take what ever I don’t eat home all wrapped up! Also for London it’s very reasonably priced. Two could easily share this meal and therefore damn cheap!

Pros: Clear and separate vegan and vegetarian menu, Large portions , Price

Lower your expectations...

I was really excited to visit this branch of The Diner after looking at the vegetarian and vegan menu online. There is lots of choice for vegans, including pancakes, burgers, salads and Mexican food.

Unfortunately, the restaurant itself didn't quite live up to the menu. We had the fried seitan with waffles and slaw, the waffles were amazing and came with a decent serving of maple syrup but the seitan was disappointing, the flavour was way too strong. The service wasn't particularly great either, the staff came across quite rude and disinterested.

Pros: Lots of choices for vegans, Big portions

Cons: The food itself needs work, Poor service

Separate Veggie Menu

Separate veggie menu with lots of vegan options. I had the spicy bean burger which was good but nothing special. The service was fairly slow but the fries were yummy.

Pros: Lots of options

Cons: Slow service

Good Option

The vegan eggs benedict is really good (it does have mushroom). The portions look small but the food is really filling. The pancakes were good though I got cacoa which was overpowered by other flavors. The server seemed a little rude but that may just be a culture thing coming from America.

Bad service

The service was particularly bad, I didn’t see a server smile once. To top it off there was a service charge already added. I had the seitan burger which was mediocre at best, the jackfruit was watery and tasteless and the piece of seitan was tiny. Kids had the pancakes which were dry. Husband had the seitan strips with franks hot sauce which he enjoyed. We made a special trip to eat here before leaving London and it was nothing but an utter disappointment. 50 pounds for a brunch was NOT worth it.

Pros: separate vegan menu handed out automatically

Cons: terrible service, expensive , mediocre food

We tried to be healthy...

We really liked the vibe of this place. It was very laidback & relaxed. Although the place is not fully vegan, it has a separate vegan and vegetarian menu where the options are clearly marked & this was brought to the table with the main menu without any prompting. We really like this as automatically we felt included. You can choose from a variety of healthy salads, or you can go turbo with the vegan junk food & sides. We tried a mixture of salads & then had the chilli cheese fries & mac & cheese sides. They were definitely not needed. The portions were humongous & really good value for money. Everything we tried was delicious, but particularly the taco salad & super wholefood salad with seitan. There is a vegan dessert, coconut ripple milkshake, which was really sweet, but perfect if you like coconut. We would definitely go back & it's a great option when eating with non-vegan friends.

Pros: Separate vegan menu which was brought over without, Humongous portions, The right balance of naughty & nice foods

Cons: Only one vegan dessert, but that's me being picky
