Catered event - Edit
I attended a training session and The Bruce Arms was the venue. The meal provided was great - a bigger portion than the non vegans! Felt great to be catered for at a work event.

Excellent! - Edit
Good find, thanks to Happycow! I've driven past this place, only 9 miles from me, dozens of times and would never have thought that it would cater for vegans. From the outside it looks as if it would be full of retired colonels. There wasn't much of a choice at midday but what there was was quite enough and we'll certainly go back. Service was friendly and excellent apart from the wait for the bread, food well prepared, a choice of gins & tonics and plenty of ice. Beautiful Georgian building with most original features retained; open fires.
Read moreI loved the notice outside indicating that muddy boots and dogs were welcome but racist uncles weren't.
Pros: very good food + friendly service, decent portions, racist uncles not welcome
Cons: extra charge for bread and took a while to arrive, no water brought automatically, no hook for bags in ladies' toilet

My family and I enjoyed an absolutely fabulous meal here. Everyone commented how wonderful the food was, how welcoming the staff were and how we wished we lived nearer to it!
Read moreMatt went out of his way to be helpful (and attentive to his emails, which isn’t as standard as it should be in this day and age) in the run-up to our dinner.
Pros: Two vegan options per course, High quality of ingredients, Welcoming and service
Cons: Take care not to confuse with Bruce Arms, Masham.

Highly recommend this cozy country pub. Traditional decor with log burners in the bar and restaurant. A choice of two strong vegan mains, starter and desert. Very knowledgeable owners.

Fantastic vegan breakfast - Edit
Stayed at The Bruce Arms for two nights and was delighted by the vegan options available. I had the vegan full English breakfast on the first morning and it was hands-down one of the best vegan breakfasts I've had. There were staple items such as sausages, mushrooms and spinach but the addition of sweet potato and black pudding pushed it into the realms of something really special. The pub itself has a friendly atmosphere and the manager is eager to ensure that there are vegan options available for both food and drink. Would absolutely recommend popping in for food or booking in for a longer stay if you want to explore the local Yorkshire area.

Surprising find! - Edit
Went for a Sunday lunch, and it was one of the best I’ve had. Used only seasonal veg, the nut roast was yum, and they also had vegan Yorkshire puddings which is always a win! Will definitely be back, as they had such a wide selection of food to choose from - including desserts!
