Second visit and brilliant Sunday roast - Edit
Updated review on second visit- we asked if the nut roast was vegan and the kitchen said they could make it so. This meant there was no mashed potato but that was the only difference. The nut roast was delicious I could have eaten it twice and all veg and potatoes were really well cooked. The food came quickly despite it being busy. Couldn’t see any cakes labelled vg but they had two vegan ice creams as well as sorbets now.

We visited after a walk not realising the main seating area is at the back we sat at the side! So do walk all the way through to find the main area. There were two salads as vegan options, and no cake :(. We had a black bean and mango salad which was good, and some chips to share. Homemade lemonade was not worth the money at all. Bit pricey for what it is. We had sorbet on the way out and it was INCREDIBLE!!!

A pleasant surprise - Edit
Was out in this part of Lancashire today and wanted some lunch. Found this place via the app. It is much more than just a restaurant and has lots of knick-knacks, costume jewellery, gifts, greeting cards etc, plus a garden centre. It seems that every day on its specials board it has a vegan main dish. Today it was a sweet potato and black bean wrap

Creative Vegan Options - Edit
We have wanted to visit The Barn for ages, after seeing various fabulous vegan dishes, they keep posting on Facebook. Yesterdays post suggested that jerk jackfruit wrap, avocado slaw, black bean and mango salsa and fries was dish of the day, I rang to confirm, then jumped in the car.
Read moreMy husband and I both ordered the jerk jackfruit, with the salsa on the side, so I could swap mine for hubby's slaw, as I am allergic to black beans.
The whole meal was excellent, delicious jackfruit full of flavour, loved the idea of using avocado instead of mayo in the slaw, crisp fries and hubby demolished two portions of the black bean and mango salsa, so that says it all. I love they cater for vegans and not just some token boring salad, but well thought out dishes.
Chef Richard who is responsible for all the wonderful creative vegan dishes, he is doing a great job and I will definitely be returning.
I also found some vegan treats in the gift shop, like vegan chocolate and Kendal mint cake.
Pros: Vegan Options, Vegan friendly
