great - Edit
lovely food, very decent prices. staff are helpful and the interior is very quaint and has a good vibe. location wise is a bit hard to find as it’s down an alley, but is as well signposted as it could be.

A great wee cafe that's a bit bard to find but with the effort.
Read moreA small menu that's 100% vegan.
We opted for a smoky lentil soup, a buddha bowl and a dog with bbq jackfruit. All enjoyed.

Lovely little spot - Edit
This was such a lovely find. Not being from Scotland, three of use were directed here by the health food store close by. It was great! Such a LOVELY vibe. Split the steak and ale pie with a friend and was surprisingly enough (I can eat A LOT). I also got the vanilla shake which was very enjoyable.

Closest you can get to real authentic Scottish cuisine, without harming animals! - Edit
Vegan versions of all the Scottish Classics! Be aware that the lunch menu is entirely different from the dinner menu (both are fabulous though!). First time we went for lunch we had 3 sandwiches— the BBQ pulled pork , chicken & bacon, chicken coronation (my favourite!). Another time we went in for dinner and had haggis neeps and tatties, steak and ale pie, and fish n chips (my favourite) ! And had the cranachan for dessert! Highly recommend the food. The staff is friendly and helpful as well!

Fantastic Hidden Gem - Edit
Down a wee alley way off the main highstreet, The Alleycat is what Inverness has been needing for a long time; a great vegan place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Good homecooking, comfort food, homemade sparkling juice, great tunes on the radio, lovely cakes, in a really nice setting, and the staff are fantastic. Price is about right too. So happy it exists.

It’s in the alley! - Edit
Had a bit of trouble finding the place as it’s really in an alleyway (and narrow). But the owner was super nice and the food was delicious! The Scottish breakfast is very filling; my fave was the mushroom and spinach sauté. The mushroom haggis was also really good. I wish the toast didn’t come already buttered as the rest of the food is quite well seasoned (read: oil and salt) and so I would’ve just preferred plain toast. My son had the jumbo hotdog and that was pretty good. The best were the scones. So delicious! They don’t have vegan clotted cream but the vegan butter was good enough.

To expensive - Edit
We dident like it at all. We spent 30 min searching for the Place, when we found it we was so hungry and hyped. Orderd a chicken sandwich and a haggis baked potato. Felt like we got food that just was heated in the microwawe. And it was a small portion so we both was hungry after. To expensive for what we got

Disappointed - lots of potential - Edit
We are from Glasgow so appreciate we are spoiled for choice in the vegan food world.
Read moreHowever! Even lowering our expectations for a smaller town we felt very disappointed.
The menu is ok but the food we received was not worth the money at all.
When you go out for vegan food one often expects something you can’t pick up at farmfoods. Or if you can... I feel it should be priced accordingly.
We were charged close to £15 for 1.5 sausages, a multipack cheap hamburger bun, some haggis and a tofu ‘egg’ roll (which was actually a highlight as lovely and “buttery”).
Would have been happy paying half the price or full price for fresher, higher standard ingredients.
Lunch may be better?

I’ve had the pancakes for breakfast and tuna (jackfruit?) toastie for lunch and both were great. Can’t wait to try more! So nice to have a fully vegan menu!

Nice new vegan place. Retro hipster's dream! - Edit
I haven't tried the food yet, but the freshly baked brownies smelled good! Inverness is lacking in fully vegan places so this is great.
