Cute cafe with delicious food - Edit
A very cute cafe that serves delicious vegan food. I had the bacon and leek mac and cheese and my husband had the soup of the day and the steak and ale pie. I also had their homemade raspberry lemonade which was extremely refreshing. So great to have found this fully vegan restaurant while stopping in Inverness.

Absolutely delicious - Edit
Such a lovely place! Food was great, staff really friendly and fair priced. It might look a bit strange from the entrance but as soon as you sit in and look around it really has a charm and it’s pleasant to eat there. Will definitely visit again when in Inverness!

Great food - Edit
Really enjoyed the food, was pleased with an all vegan cafe in Inverness! The only thing that disappointed me was the decor/cleanliness of the cafe. I get that they are going for the simplistic-artsy vibe but it almost comes across as unclean and a bit unkempt.

Friendly, warm and hospitable - Edit
Stumbled across this place whilst pacing around Inverness on a cold evening on my own, thinking I was going to have to resort to something cold from M&S in my hotel room. And what a pleasant surprise this discovery was! The haggis was amazing and I tried a slice of their chocolate cake which was awesome! Lovely service, staff were excellent.

Visited in November with 5 Californian friends. We loved the food. The Haggis, the Scotch pie (who knew !!) and of course the Fish and Chips were a huge hit.

So disappointed - Edit
Really wanted this place to be good! But the food is overpriced and just what you can get in the supermarket. Table was literally crusted with dirt and owner was indifferent when it was pointed out to him. Mould growing in loo and hand towel was soaking and dirty. Makes me worry about kitchen hygiene. Such a shame, was so excited for a vegan cafe in Inverness!

The only vegan place in Inverness(correct to Sep 2019)- and it's great - Edit
A cool place with diverse menu. Iv'e been in Inverness with a meat eater friend for 2.5 days and everything was pretty tasty.
Read moreFull Scottish breakfast- Good but the scramble was nothing special, just some tofu with spices. Bacon was just nice. Iv'e tasted better bacons on my trip.
Morning cranachan- Oats, raspberry, soy(I think) yogurt. Classic. Tasty. Awesome breakfast. Can't go wrong here.
Steak and ale pie- Definitely the best dish I tried here. How the jack fruit is made, the texture, the gravy, the pastry on top. Everything was perfect. Id give up all the chips in the photo just to eat more of the "steak". Highly recommended.
And what we tried from the desserts vitrine(espresso fudge and marshmallow doughnut) was also very good.
Overall, this place is a must if your'e in Inverness.
Pros: Diversity

Vegan Scottish food - Edit
Okay, so let me be very honest: at first I was not excited about going to this place. I’m not a huge fan of Scottish food (I just want dosa and curry every single day, all day long) and reading the menu I though there weren’t enough veggies on there. But we went and I was happily surprised! This small place is lovely and the people running this place are fantastic. Best of all was the haggis! This is definitely the best vegan haggis we had in all of Scotland; good spices, fantastic taste! What I also really like about this place is that it is unpretentious. I mean, don’t we have enough of these yuppie places where they act all interesting about selling you one of those unethical açaí bowls for 15 pounds? This place is the opposite: it is a place for honest, local food, with honest people and honest prices. And because of that ordinary local people can enjoy the food and be introduced to veganism. There were some old lady’s having tea and scones and a local family eating toasties. Vegan food should be accessible for everyone: this place totally nailed it! And they made me love Scottish food! I hope to be back one day for more haggis and another coronation chicken toastie.

Vegan oasis - Edit
The only real place to get good vegan food in Inverness. Hidden away in an Alley. I had the fish and chips which was delicious. My friend had the Mac and Cheese, which was creamy and filling. Staff was very friendly. Only four stars because the atmosphere could be better. Tables were a bit wobbly and some were sticky. One wall is unfinished. Could be cleaned up a bit. They also seem to run out of ingredients, and they take dishes off the menu if that happens.

Nice place for a lunch - Edit
The food is good, but I think its quite overpriced since you pay 7 pounds for only a small bowl of salad and humus. Also the atmosphere/decoration could be much better. But overall, the food is good

Lovely lunch place - Edit
Fully vegan cafe, nice ambience and very lovely staff. My sister and I had the tuna & cheese toastie and the chilli & cheese toastie, with a chai tea.
Read moreThe menu is a little startling as the options offer “chicken and bacon” so I had to double check but on the front of the menu it does state that it is all fully vegan. The waiter also made sure to check with us we knew all the options were vegan.
My favourite thing was their range of locally sourced hot sauces in a range of spiciness!

Cosy, chilled, retro and quite simply lovely. - Edit
After a little bit of wandering around the area I found this little treasure of an eatery. Tip: use Goolge Maps rather than Apple Maps, and for best results put the actual address in (6 Mealmarket Close).
Read moreAnyhoo, once I found it I entered a very retro and chilled feeling space. There was an old 80's style boom box playing some nice 80's tracks on old cassette tapes, some retro design touches and a very minimal and upcycled feeling to the furnishings. I felt immediately at home, and the staff were instantly welcoming. Also the feel of the place is so relaxing, and all the other customers in while I was there were sitting and having chilled soft easy going conversations. I just soaked up the quiet ambience as I was dining alone.
I ate way too much food, but I live in a town with no vegan places at all so I had to! The starter was lovely, I had the pie which was a generous portion and finished with a very nice sticky toffee pudding. The food is freshly prepared and has a home cooked vibe which just adds to the homely feel of the place. Oh, and the prices were very reasonable too. I had 2 starters, a main and a pudding and one drink and it was just over £20.
Absolutely recommend any vegans visiting Inverness to pop in to The Alleycat and help support their quaint little cruelty free space.
Pros: Lovely staff, Tasty homely food, Reasonable prices for a city centre eatery
Cons: It was a little hard to find it

You can‘t rely on them - Edit
Unfortunately we were not able to eat there. First time Monday at 7:40 p.m the kitchen did not want to cook anymore, they told us to come back next day. Next day kitchen was closed because of „hot“ weather, ( 25 degrees )They didn‘t care that we were told the day before to come again. This is not how any business should treat customers. Disappointed regards from Austria.

Lovely place with great food - Edit
Pleased to find this 100% vegan place. Food really good, we had cheese and onion toastie, hot dog and strawberry milkshake then also had a mallow nut and a slice of chocolate orange cake. Also had a cranberry and coconut scone to take home which was delicious too. All was very nice, staff v nice too and they have a great pay it forward scheme where you can leave a donation for someone else who needs it can use it. The only slight con which is not really a con, just shows how good they are! It was busy so I had to go away and come back 20 minutes later!
