My family ate here last August during the Fringe. It was crowded and we couldn't get in one night but came back another evening. It looks like a nothing-special restaurant around the corner from the castle, but the vegetables were very fresh and the food was quite good. There is a separate vegetarian menu, but even so be quite clear when ordering that there should be no fish or oyster sauce. One or two of the appetizers might have used eggs so be sure to ask. Between the five of us, we ordered almost everything on the veg menu and everything was delicious. Overall, one of the best meals we ate in Scotland during our two weeks' travel.
