Best in Iwaki

This is my favourite restaurant in Iwaki! It's run by one woman and she has one daily lunch set that changes each day as well as a collection of hot and cold drinks and a chiffon cake (rotating tea flavours).

Usually the set includes: rice, miso soup, pickles, two seasonal side dishes, a fresh salad, and some sort of fried plant-based protein (usually wheat gluten or soy meat). She offers seconds on the rice if you're still hungry, but it's a fairly filling meal.

I recommend making a reservation as she's often full, especially on weekends.

This is also one of the most low-impact places I've come across in Japan. She even has washable (individual) hand towels instead of paper towels.

Cannot recommend highly enough.

Pros: Great food, Friendly but not overly chatty owner, Nice ambience

Cons: May be full if you haven't made a reservation
