Very nice and large place with all-vegan food - Edit
We were suprised that this place was so large and nicely styled. Also, the staff was nice.
Read moreTheir food is completely vegan, even when the name suggests otherwise (e.g. the eggs are vegan eggs). They might serve cow’s milk though. We tried the porridge and full breakfast, as well as a smoothie and a cappuccino. Everything was delicious!

Supernatural is one of the best places in Newcastle for good food, friendly service and value for money. Perfect lunch spot in the city centre, close to the train station. Their carrot cake is a must try!!

Good food, lots of options - Edit
The menu says all food is vegan but the shakshuka lists egg as an ingredient. Could be clearer!

It is vegan, they just don’t use fake mheat type words! The only thing stopping it being a vegan listing in Happy Cow is that it still does cow milk in tea etc. In fairness it gets in a lot of non vegans and non veggies so is just flying under their radar

So much choice my mind was blown - Edit
Went here for a spot of lunch and the choice for food was bordering on overwhelming. I was a little confused though because some places report it’s now fully vegan and others say vegetarian…. Asked one of the members of staff who said everything was vegan but I then looked at the board which listed milks for your coffee and ‘dairy’ was on the list. So left a little confused but the dishes (falafel salad and a side of chunky chips) I had was definitely vegan just from making a judgement by look.

Nice ambience but menu needs to be clarified. - Edit
I went for breakfast and a coffee recently. All very nice, I liked the ambience of the place and the service was very friendly.
Read moreHowever, I was under the impression that this cafe was completely vegan and therefore all the milk that was used was vegan, too.
There are some very recent reviews that indicate that cows milk is possibly being used. I couldn't see anything on the menu about this, but the coffee section didn't specify which milks were being used (I just asked for whatever milk they normally used, not realising that cows milk could be an option). The food section does say that it's all vegan.
I think the owner just needs to clarify what the situation is- if only plant milk is being used and the cafe is entirely vegan, then great. If cows milk is being used, then that could be an issue if like me, you thought a plant milk would be used as standard and you have an allergy or intolerance.
Pros: great breakfast options, nice ambience, friendly staff
Cons: menu needs to be clarified

Nice veggie place - Edit
A real shame that they serve non-vegan milks, a bit senseless really considering the food is 100% vegan?? Came for a brunch: the coffee was nice, had the tofu scrambled on toast and it was nice but nothing special. Would definitely come again to check out the evening menu. Can see it being a nice place for dinner and cocktails.

They do it as they get so many customers who aren’t veggie or vegan

ALL VEGAN - must visit! - Edit
This is in my top 3 vegan places to eat in the UK. I'm amazed that it's been open since 1978 as it's so up to date with vegan food!
Read moreThe whole place has a cosy, welcoming feel, with a canopy of lights that make the place feel cosseting.
We were greeted by friendly staff who seemed a little amused at our constant checking that everything served is vegan!
There are a selection of drinks including cocktails available. We opted for tea and coffee given that we were there for breakfast!
A selection of cakes are displayed alongside snacks like biscuits.
We opted for a breakfast burger and a roll, both served with sides.
The portion sizes are not small! The roll was delicious, smoky and salty and perfect morning after food. The breakfast burger was a decadent savoury mix of flavours all held together with a cheezy slice. The drinks were huge. It was a perfect way to start the day. Obviously we followed it with a carrot cake and an orange and lemon cake. Perfection.
Pros: Huge menu, Great staff , Delicious food
Cons: My waistband appears to have shrunk

Super Natural Cafe - Edit
Lovely venue in a great location in the city. Good place for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just simply to chill with a coffee, cake and a book. Mix of table and chairs and comfy sofas, with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of cosy fairy lights! Varied menu, plenty of choice. Enjoyed most of the food I had as visited several times during my stay in Newcastle, but the mushrooms would’ve been better served on the toast (as the menu description) and more creamy as it was pretty dry. Portions also a bit too big and I noticed quite a lot of food waste. I was sad to see dairy milk on offer for drinks, and the cafe was listed as vegan on Happy Cow at the time which is why I especially called in. Good to see it’s now accurate and updated. Hope they drop the cows milk as the food is already 100% vegan.

Relaxed and Welcoming - Edit
We visited a few times during our weekend visit to Newcastle. It is a lovely space and very easy to sit and chill out. All the food is vegan but they do serve cow's milk along with the usual plant milks and when asked how can they be listed as vegan on HC and serve dairy, they just said, 'that's controversial'. It's good to see their listing has been altered to vegetarian as that is more accurate. Be aware that the portion sizes of the food and drinks are huge! The food is very tasty and the cakes moist.

Tasty breakfast - Edit
This is such a cute café! The walls are decorated with pictures of animals and the entire ceiling is covered with strings of fairy lights – it's really pretty! It is a little disappointing that they offer dairy milk for drinks but their entire food menu is vegan, which is awesome. Me and my wife went for breakfast and got The Breakfast Wrap and a Super All Day Breakfast, and my wife also got a large oat latte. She really enjoyed her latte and it was really big! The food was also tasty and I particularly liked the rosti bites.
