Really lovely food - Edit
A great choice of dishes, all vegan, and really delicious. The Cafe is beautifully decorated so a great place for a quick breakfast or romantic date. Its only a 5 minute walk from the train station. We always eat here when in Newcastle.

Extensive offering - Edit
Extensive vegan menu, not entirely sure what is not vegan - but I think they sell cow’s milk for example. Lovely ambience, staff is super nice. My food was not super, super special but it was good and warming. My turmeric oat latte was phenomenal.

Brilliant Bustling restaurant - Edit
This is a popular and long-established vegetarian restaurant close to the train station in central Newcastle. I loved my 'chikn' sandwich with fries and salad.
Read moreI came here during a busy lunch day so had to wait quite a while for my meal to arrive. I didn't mind though as I wasn't in a hurry. The lovely staff were apologetic and even offered an extra drink to make up for it.
The cost was a little high for my budget but reasonable for the quality and service.
Do pop by here if you are looking to treat yourself in Newcastle!
Pros: Great quality, friendly staff, convenient location
Cons: A bit expensive , long wait during busy times

Reliable choice - Edit
We’ve been to Supernatural many times - the food isn’t haute cuisine but doesn’t purport to be. Instead it’s reliable decent food. The portions are pretty large - I’ve been caught out on a couple of occasions ordering side dish & realising I had way too much food.
Read moreStaff are always friendly & a lot of their dishes can be made gluten free, including their Sunday lunch which I had for the first time today. I was very excited when it came to see it included Yorkshire pudding (the best part of Sunday lunch imo but usually not available to a vegan coeliac).
Pros: Lots of gluten free choices , Lovely atmosphere & decor , Handy location for train station

Great food and a pleasant atmosphere - Edit
I phoned to book for early evening the same day and that worked well. You choose from a menu then place your order at the counter. That’s ok unless you want a second beer during your meal. Two of us ate from the specials. I had deep fried oyster mushrooms which were served with a slaw and some delicious country style chips. The other diner had a platter with rosemary bread, bhaji, samosa, hummus, veggies. Very good and the menu seems to be vegan although they call the cafe vegetarian. Food was great and generous portions too. The restaurant was busy enough to have a good atmosphere although there were some tables not taken. The images I posted show there has been an interior refresh which works very well. I hope to return to eat here.

Great food, great price - Edit
Large portions of tasty food, enjoyed the lasagna and also loved the tapas (Friday and Saturday). Nice place for a quiet evening drink, cocktails are two for £12. They also do a good hot chocolate and a great Sunday roast

Squeezed in - Edit
We turned up on a Sunday Dinner time with no reservation and they managed to squeeze the two of us onto a table. I had Sunday lunch and my partner had the burger. I have to say, not all of the dinner was to my liking (not a big fan of celeriac) but the rest of the food was so good I have no complaints whatsoever.

Favourite vegan place - Edit
A Newcastle institution! I come here several times every time I’m Newcastle & remember going with my mum in its earlier days in the 80’s. The menu is gorgeous, staff fantastic and everything is done with real care for the food, customer experience and the mission. Had the full vegan breakfast this morning, highly recommend!

Delish dahl - Edit
Lovely lunch of mushroom and lentil dahl with onion bhaji, pakora and spinach with raita (may have been vegan 🤔). Very filling and tasty. Had to go back to hotel for a lie down! Warned of half an hour wait but for me that is a sign of freshly cooked food. Will definitely return. Used to go to the original Super Natural 40 years ago when I was a student here. This one is less rustic but just as enjoyable. #Veganuary

A refurb with all the old favourites retained - Edit
We are already big fans, supernatural has had a beautiful refurbishment without losing its essence. Love the new big scale black/floral wallpaper, addional swish comfy seating - all very contemporary for Newcastle's vegan scene. We had Espresso Martini, Pornstar Martini, which were spot on, well mixed and beautifully served. Other half says the Duvel beer was perfectly poured (apparently A Thing). Loaded fries with chilli and cheese (wow!), samosa/bhaji, onion rings(all small plates) to share had us stuffed. Great for a Saturday teatime snifter and snax.

Super Lunch - Edit
Everything freshly made to order so food was piping hot. I had the North African Shakshuka which was a spicy stew with tofu, beetroot falafel, salad and pita bread. Delicious; would definitely have again when I next visit Newcastle. Loved the fact they played music such as the Beatles and the Eagles!

Lovely vegan spot in city centre - Edit
Went in there when exhausted from our walk in/around Newcastle. It was very crowded on a Saturday afternoon, but thankfully they had a table for us. (many reserved tables)
Read moreThe menu is very extensive, maybe even too extensive (!). It says on the menu that all food is vegan-friendly.
We were there just for a drink and a snack - decided to have a pizza to share.
The pepperoni pizza was delicious, lots of cheese, real good.
I had read about the cow's milk, but did not see anything about it inside tbh.
You order and pay at the bar which makes eating much more relaxing.
The toilets are at the back and are very large and clean.
All positives, but I did find the prices on the higher end.
Pros: huge menu, great city centre location, very friendly staff
Cons: prices on the higher side , very crowded, might have to reserve a table/wait
