Great value Indian food - Edit
The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, but all the staff were amazing.
Read moreThe vegan thali is on the special lunch menu, served until 4, and is great value at just under £14.
You get a vegan veg curry (rich and perfectly spiced), side, daal, rice. salad, naan and popadoms and chutney.
The garlic and chilli dip is immense but packs a huge garlic hit, and the mango chutney is lightly peppered for more taste.
Overall a fab little place with great food, and I will be back for the vegan chilli soy wrap and gunpowder chips!
Pros: Vegan curry is rich, perfectly spiced and deliciou, Amazing service , Really knowledgeable and helpful staff
Cons: Only three or four vegan options

Immerse me in your splendour - Edit
A long overdue catchup with fellow Newcastle Happy Cow Ambassador, the fine Dead Pledge. If you were on a train this would be first class carriage Indian Street food dining. Quite similar to the Bundobust concept of Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool but in more opulent surroundings. We shared okra fries, roti, Bombay potatoes, a beautifully fragrant and garlic rich tadka daal and a truly delicious Kattha Meetha Baingan eggplant dish. The two mini aubergines were cooked to absolute perfection swimming in an aromatic and spicy tomato onion based sauce. Judging by the crowds Dakwala looks like becoming a very successful part of Newcastle’s vibrant restaurant scene.

For my main I got the Punjabi Chole chickpeas curry, which was so flavourful and perfectly spiced. Great roti, poppadoms and basmati rice too.
Pros: Great food, Staff and decor , Vibe
Cons: Meat
