Pros: Personal very friendly-Personal sehr freundlich , Big selection/Große Auswahl, Close to inner-city/Nah am Zentrum
Cons: A buEtwas teurer

Favourite Vegan Restaurant in Auckland - Edit
Love this place. Super casual restaurant with excellent food. Currys taste just like the ones in Thailand. Nice high carb meals, the food isn’t too greasy so you don’t feel sluggish afterwards. Have eaten here a couple times and rate it every time.

Great laksa - Edit
Sunflower is a small, cafe-style place. It doesn't look much but the laksa I had (the special of the week) was great. Huge portion, cheap and delicious!

Perfection! - Edit
My all time favourite place! Food is consistent, tasty, and filling. I always order at least 2 mains and a side when I go, so I can take some home for laters haha! My fave dishes are the crispy chicken on rice, and the thai green curry.

Nice place but not the best food - Edit
Little cozy place. I ordered noodles after the recommendation of the waitress. It wasn’t bad but not the best I tried.

Tasty food, friendly people - Edit
Stopped in as I heard they did a great ‘fish’ and chips (the New Zealand national dish!). It was hard to stick to that plan as there was so much that looked great on the menu! I enjoyed the food and the lady serving was very friendly and helpful. I definitely hope to visit again before I leave NZ!

No frills, simple and quick vegan food - Edit
Sunflower Thai is a great place if you're looking for super quick and simple vegan Thai food. You can count on a filling and satisfying meal every time. I love the satay chicken dish! Only rating 4 starts as I don't love that you hear the microwave going off while you're dining. It makes me question how fresh the food is since it's being reheated. Nonetheless, still a great place.

Honestly the best - Edit
Such a good range of options and everything is honestly so delicious. I even think your non vegan friends would love it too! Although was a little confused when I figured out rice wasn’t included! Also- we ordered through Uber eats and paid for the delivery only to discover that they actually offer free delivery themselves! So if your reading this ready to order on Uber eats- try calling them first!

Nice dinner at an Auckland vegan institution - Edit
I love the Sunflower, and I’m sure it’s Auckland’s oldest vegan restaurant. It’s no frills and you have to walk through other restaurants to get to it, and I enjoy that tucked-away, hidden-gem feel. Five of us shared a few dishes, including the fish and chips (not particularly shareable despite being in the share plate category of the menu), green curry, crispy chicken, panfried dumplings and pad Thai. Generally the dishes were quite delicious, although the chicken was quite dry and didn’t come with a dipping sauce. Sadly they were out of the fish cakes, which had been highly recommended to me (and apparently I’d had before according to my last review of this place). The curry was creamier than last time (also based on my previous comments) and was nicely spicy. Prices were reasonable except for (again) the chicken, which was $30 for not a huge bowl of fairly low-quality nuggets.

Was delicious! Went here twice after stumbling upon the sign while walking along high street. The pan fried dumplings were great as was the red curry and the tom Yom goong soup with faux prawn. Open on a Monday unlike many restaurants in Auckland.

Must try in Auckland - Edit
I’ve been here many times over the years and recently returned since the new owners took over and the menu was revised (which is kind of good as there were way too many options previously). The food is still great, though a couple of things we tried weren’t to my taste (the kumara curry rolls - though to be fair I’m not a big fan of kumara - and the papaya salad was very hot). The salt and pepper tofu and crispy tofu with satay were both delicious, as was the pad pak. I can’t wait to go back and try more.

Yummy Thai food - Edit
Delicious food and decent prices for what you get. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the sago pudding that was on the specials board once, but that was just personal preference. Awesome that this whole place is vegan.
