Good vegan options

This is a nicely decorated place with good vegan options on a separate menu. I visited for brunch/lunch 5 months ago with a group of non vegans. I had the vegan mezze lunch plate which was tasty and the person sitting next to me had the lentil and tomato soup which they said was good.

Just okay

It was nice that they had a separate vegan menu, but the staff still seemed confused about what exactly was and wasn't vegan. I got the vegan mezze, which had a couple pieces of eggplant, a pile of roasted carrots, and some hummus... It was served with a few pieces of toast. It was fine, but wasn't enough bread to eat the meal and when I asked staff for more bread, they were unsure whether the pita was vegan. It was just a strange experience overall and I would have probably preferred a cheaper meal somewhere else.

Pros: Vegan menu , Good coffee

Cons: Not 100% vegan , Food was just okay

Patatas bravas

Had the vegan patatas bravas and it was delicious. I don't know if I was too hungry after a long day, but it was very tasty. Along with some sangria. Make sure to ask for the vegan menu.

Pros: Separate vegan menu, Nice staff

Great Vegan and Gluten-free menus

I've eaten here twice and enjoyed it both times. Last night was the vegan mezze dinner plate and it was delicious. My co-dinners shared some of the tapas plates amongst them and the standout for all of us were the fennel roasted carrots. I also enjoyed the hummus with the toasted bread and tasty felafel.

Their sangria was a delicious accompaniment for our dinners. I love that they make decisions easy with their separate gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan menus and each menu has a large assortment of options, not just the typical salad and sides. I'll definitely be back here now that we've moved to Auckland.

Pros: Variety of food choices, Gluten-free options, Full vegan menu

Cons: Ummm, none!

Tasty

First impressions portion looked small and not enough bread but by the time I’d finished I was full. $21 for the hummus and pita with a tomato salsa and a side of falafel. It was very good and I’ll come back.

Delicious lunch and great service

Fresh off the plane and trying to shake off the jet lag, we headed to Mezze for lunch. So pleased they had a vegan menu! We ordered side salads (nice portion and very fresh!), lentil and tomato soup (piping hot with some of the best bread I’ve eaten!) and patatas bravas. Everything was delicious, and served promptly. Our server was kind enough to give us some Auckland activity and sightseeing suggestions. Highly recommend!

Pros: Nice variety of delicious vegan options, Warm and slightly funky atmosphere , Great staff

Cons: None

Tasty tapas

This place does some of the best tapas in Auckland. Nice atmosphere and not too loud either. The tapas can be a little pricy though.

Pros: Delicious tapas

Cons: A little on pricy

Fast and yummy

Can confirm they do have a separate vegan menu that had half a dozen or so items on it (plus sides). Was after a light and quick meal and this hit the brief! We ordered the vegan mezze plater with extra wood fired pide. Very tasty and food came within 10 minutes! Great beer options too.

Pros: Good service , Separate vegan menu

Delicious lentil soup!

I first had their lentil soup when they were at their old location. Since then when I’m in town I always make sure to have some when I am back as it is the best lentil soup I’ve had. Thinking of it fills me with warmth and a mouth full of flavors. They also had some amazing vegan cakes.

Mezz-yay!

So delicious! We shared the Syrian hummus, vegan Mezze dinner plate, and some wood fired pidé - all vegan and all so yummy. There is a great range of vegan and vegetarian available (ask for additional menu). It was so flavourful and amazing. Great ambiance. We will be back!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Delicious food

Yummus

It had been a while since I'd eaten at Mezze Bar so I decided to pop in for lunch on a work trip to Auckland. I was delighted to note that they have a seperate vegan menu (as well as a separate vegetarian one), though some of the items were a little unimaginative (eg. the vegetarian grilled polenta stack made vegan by removing the polenta and parmesan - sadly with no price differential or obvious replacement).
I had the vegan mezze lunch platter (the vegetarian platter with halloumi removed) which was satisfying but at $18.50 a touch more costly than it was worth without any replacement for the halloumi).
The hummus was delicious and a perfect texture. It went well with the tomato bread, carrot dish and eggplant/tomato stack (which was definitely missing something taste-wise without any other replacement for the halloumi).
I enjoy going to Mezze Bar, it has a nice easy vibe no matter the time of day, but I'd love to see a bit more effort with some of the vegan options.
Would come back for more delicious hummus - and to try the za'atar burger.

Pros: Seperate vegan menu, Good atmosphere

Cons: Unimaginative veganisation of some dishes

Great vegan friendly restaurant

I went there with a few non-vegan colleagues and everyone had a great time: nice beer, good food, great atmosphere (some music but not too loud), dimmed lights but not too dark.
I particularly liked their separate vegan menu with a choice of about 10 dishes. I had the vegan mezze dinner plate (fennel carrots, grilled zucchini and eggplant, falafels, hummus) and my colleague had the falafel burger. Both were big servings and really good. Other colleagues seemed happy with the beers and non-vegan dishes.

Pros: Separate vegan menu, Nice atmosphere, Big serving size

Tasty food, ask for vegan menu

This place was open on Auckland Anniversary weekend when many other Happy Cow spots were not. Their limonata drink is lovely, and I enjoyed the vegan lunch plate, would recommend adding falafel to it which does make it on the more expensive side

Pros: Nice fresh food, Separate vegan menu, Good ambience

Cons: Pricing

Ask for the vegan menu

This place has a seperate vegan menu behind the counter. It took a while for the food to come out which is pretty usual with Mezze places, so don't come here if you're in a hurry. I tried the chickpea falafel burger, patatas bravas, and chips which were nice although the patatas bravas was a little oily. Not cheap but the serving sizes are big

Pros: Vegan options, Big serving sizes

Cons: Slow
