המלצה על המסעדה, היה טעים מאוד!!! - Edit

Several vegan and gluten free options. Had some tofu takoyaki, a really great mixed salad, some Chinese yam with kiwi, grilled vegetables with a miso citrus sauce. They also have fish there.

Make a booking! - Edit
Hey vegan friends, make a booking for dinner. This place is small (6 tables) and while other reviewers suggested to possibly arrive on time (which we did, sharp at 6pm) unfortunately they were booked out so we didn’t get to try the food.

Delicious small plates - Edit
Located on a narrow street directly to the right of the Oyama shrine, this cosy modern bistro specializing in small plates has vegan and vegetarian options and an English menu. There’s a limited dessert menu and a wide selection of drinks: beer, wine , cocktails or non alcoholic. We loved the mixed salad, tofu dumplings, shiitake bechamel and the basil mascarpone pizza with walnuts. The dressings were subtle and flavorful: ginger-miso, citrus vinaigrette etc.
Read moreService was quick and friendly and all the dishes were freshly prepared in the open kitchen. There are only 6 tables and two counter seats, so come early or make a reservation.
Highly recommended for fine dining and sharing.
A street landmark is the Samurai Gift shop on the corner.

The menu has multiple vegetarian options which is a welcome reprieve from soba! The staff was extremely friendly and the menu was also in English. The restaurant is small with about 10 tables. My mojito was delicious!

I would give this 5 stars if I could! - Edit
The app won’t allow 5 stars as it’s not completely vegan/vegetarian but it really does deserve 5 stars. This was by far our favourite meal during our 2 weeks in Japan and because of that, we came here twice.
Read moreThis is a small plates restaurant so I would recommend ordering several dishes. We had 5 to share between 2 plus dessert. The plates are reasonably priced in my opinion, ranging from about 600 to 1400 yen per dish ( approx £3-£7). The first night our meal was £29 and the second was £40(for two people). This included several rounds of drinks, mains and desserts.
The food is very creative, tastes amazing and the people working there are so friendly and professional.
It’s also a great place to go if you have any meat eaters in your group. You can all eat together and have great options available for everyone.
If we were staying in Kanazawa longer, we would go back again for a third visit.
Pros: Creative menu that tastes amazing , Reasonably priced , Staff are extremely friendly

Very tasty - Edit
In a city with so few vegan/veg options, this was a nice exception. Teeny place so reserve if you can, or get there early. They open for dinner at 6. Menu is well-labeled, so there was no issue to pick out several items, and all were delicious.

Phenomenal - Edit
Unique, well-executed menu with many vegan and vegetarian options. My wife and I had every vegan option on the menu, so I think we ended up splitting 6 or 7 plates. Each of us had two drinks and the tab came out to 7000 yen. Very friendly people and delicious, filling food.

Had dinner there and ordered five dishes, vegetarian and vegan, all without eggs. All were delicious. Would recommend highly. Cannot award 5 starts as on this site only fully vegan or vegetarian restaurants can be awarded 5 stars.

Yum! - Edit
Really innovative menu with clear labels on what’s vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, and nut free. Food was stunning, especially the tofu takayoki and they were open late which meant we could eat after watching the sunset on a beach 45 minutes away. Portions are small, tapas style so order a lot.

Lovely food, lovely staff! - Edit
In Kanazawa, vegan options are rare... we were so happy to find this restaurant: very nice owners, very comprehensive, and food portions were not that small as mentioned in other comments. Just order the Japanese way: several dishes to share. We had salad, piccata, vegetable fritters and pasta and this was really delicious and filling for 2, and the price was fair. In addition, the wine and the music was good! Would definitely come back here!

Creative plates! - Edit
Here is a restaurant that can communicate in English. And as u come in,they will give u a survey paper that u can tick what u can or can’t eat in the checkbox to let them know and they can give u some suggestions of orders. Also, they got a clear menu for vegetarian. And all the plates that I ordered were delucious.

amazing vibe - Edit
food choice was limited, possible due to the available seasonal foods. also i personally don't like fried vegetables so that limited me alot. however, the staff were very friendly and prepared a grilled vegetable and fruit salad for me. they have a separate vegan dressing. the vegetables and fruit were absolutely delicious. the staff were very friendly and we had a nice chat after our meal and overall loved the vibe and would certainly go again. the restaurant is in a dimly lit area so we walked past it first time.

Very tasty food and friendly service - even if only a handful of vegan options - Edit
A very cosy but cute place, with very nice staff and delicious food. Only a few options for vegans, but what we had was lovely, and very traditional. Veggies could have pizza too, so more options for them. It would have received 5 stars if it just had one or two more vegan dishes. They had a great system for identifying what you can and can’t eat, which helped with the language barrier.

Lovely small restaurant with really good food. My group had mixed in food preferences but we were all very happy and satisfied. Im vegan and gf. I had good salad, roasted vegetables and fried potatoes, they were all very tasty and well prepared. Others had japanese cream pasta, scallops w mikan, pizza and miso macro w hojicha sauce. Unusually tasty not over the top just right great food experience. Owner couple was very sweet. Food was beautifully presented.

Interesting little restaurant - Edit
Saw this place passing by Oyama jinja, later found it on Happycow. I expected more vegetarian/vegan options, but the staff were helpful and friendly. Little overpriced, I could only afford 2 small dishes which weren't exactly a full meal. But boy, were they delicious!

Tasty food - small portions - Edit
The restaurant has a lovely vibe - very cool and the owners are really nice. Not much English spoken but that isn't an issue as there is a vegetarian English menu. They get you to fill out a form when you come in detailing what you can't eat which is great for us veggies/vegans.
Read moreFood was really delicious, but do be aware that the portions are small! We got the grilled vegetables, a pizza, vegetable fritters and fries to share and surprisingly weren't full at all. The pizza in particular was very small and thin.
Totally recommend this place if you're just looking for some tasty food, drink and a nice atmosphere, but if you're really hungry it may not be the answer!
Pros: chic atmosphere, yummy food, form to fill in to say what you can't eat
Cons: very small portions, not cheap for the portion size

Big luck at Slow luck - Edit
It’s really tiny place with the smallest kitchen I’ve ever seen. The owners are a young hip couple, he cooks, she does the rest. We were the only one together with one regular customer. Be sure to come in time otherwise it’s fully booked. You’ll start filling out a form on which you can fill out what ingredients you don’t like or don’t eat. We had a nice glass of wine and ordered some small dishes. Tapas style. Presentation of the food was really good as well as the taste. We had some grilled veggies, pizza and some baked potatoes. Sounds standard but the taste was original. Great vibes and really nice music.
