Average food with extreme pretension and cost - Edit
More like "Love for None". My girlfriend came here and brought an allergy card detailing what she was severely allergic to (cashews, walnuts, pistachios). She showed it before ordering, and things went fine until dessert.
Read moreSince she already showed her allergy card (written in Japanese), and the dessert menu item she ordered had "no almonds or coconuts", so she assumed the matcha tart cake would be fine. Turns out it was made entirely of cashews-- she ate one bite, then after a brief period of feeling strange, she got extremely ill. She had to use an epipen (one of the two she brought on this vacation), and rush into the bathroom to vomit. The waiter was really nice and apologetic; he brought water and apologized.. But in this restaurant where there was only my gf and I, none of the other staff even turned to look or to offer help.
Anyhow, I'm rating it mainly 1 stars because of this incident where my girlfriend suffered a lot. Why would you put "no almonds or coconuts", but have it include cashews, a tree nut? Peanuts, tree nuts, and fish are the big 3 severe life threatening allergy foods.
If this incident didn't happen, I'd say the restaurant is about 2 stars? The customer service was fairly good (the waiter was very nice and spoke English) and the food is so-so. But the portion sizes are absurdly small; my anorexic vegan gf was still hungry after a dinner set with the crispy tuna chestnut add-on (over 6000 yen in cost, not including the drinks and table charge of 550 yen/person). It's absurdly expensive for what you're getting, the majority of the cost probably comes what I'm assuming is local organic produce or something?
You can get better vegan food for 1/3rd the price elsewhere in Japan.
For example in the dinner set we got, it went something like this:
Appetizers: 4 crunchy leaves with sauce, crunchy tofu ball, two more various single slices of local produce
Soup: Small bowl of tofu/mushroom soup
Entree: My gf got the vegetable mushroom tempura, I got the scallops. I got 4 pieces of scallops and the rest was bean sprouts. Both of our dishes came with a bowl of rice and exactly 4 slices of local vegetables.
Dessert: One purple grape, one green grape, a slice of a fig, slice of orange
It felt really pretentious and and I can't believe I paid this much for tiny slices of various "local Kanazawa produce". I think this is the only restaurant I went to in Japan that I felt legitimately disappointed and scammed by.
Pros: Food was ok
Cons: Extremely small portions, Absurdly high prices for what you're getting, Lazy food

An experience worth the price - Edit
Other reviews mention the price, which is higher than other places like ippudo or similar, however this place is _very_ nice.
Read moreThe service was terrific, and they were very patient with my poor Japanese (their English was more than good enough).
The food was fantastic. All local Kanazawa specialties, and we left with a new found appreciation for yuzu. The vegan beef dishes were on another level compared to the more budget friendly places (which are still very tasty on their own).
The dessert was a great combination of flavors as well, and they prepared a special treat when they heard that we were on an anniversary trip.
We went with recommendations from the staff and there wasn’t a single bite less than delicious.
If you want to have a “nice dinner” and can budget a little extra, this is the way to go.
Pros: Flavors, Service, Experience

This restaurant is an absolute 10 out of 10! - Edit
Incredible tasty food experience with super good ingredients, the place is super cozy and it has a positive vibe 🤗 We wish to stay longer in Kanazawa just to go again hehehe 🥹 I love to find places full of cooking knowledge ( the truffle mushroom pizza was out of this world!) and good people. Thank you very much to bring us this amazing experience… We wish you all the best 🫶 We highly recommend it!!! We hope you can change the menu to all vegan one day🤞🏻🌴Los Alicantinos😊
Pros: The food , The place, The people
Cons: It wasn’t fully vegan

Exquisite Vegan Dining in Kanazawa - Edit
Love for All offers gourmet vegan dishes, not the usual boring options. Amazing gluten-free options, sweet service, and a romantic vibe with lovely music. A must-visit for a special dining experience!

Cover fee plus tip - Edit
The food is pretty good, but the place in general is overpriced. They charge a 500 yen seating fee which they say is normal (I’ve never seen this in Japan) and at the end it asks for a tip (definitely unacceptable for Japan). Kinda screams tourist trap.

Just terrible. Food wasn’t good and extremely overpriced. The lady server was ok, but seemed nervous for some reason. The whole place had a weird vibe. Definitely do not recommend to any one.

Mixture of western food and Japanese food. Have vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.
Read moreI order the tuna sushi, taste nice.
Japan Curry is a bit boring for me, but it’s how the Japan’s curry style mostly are.
They gave me a free local produce raw corn and it contains a taste of nature and sweet. Impressive about how corn can taste like how it originally should be.

To fatty and expensive, clear tourist trap - Edit
Pros: clearly labelled vegan and gluten-free food, one very nice waitress, no waiting time
Read moreCons: wayyy to expensive for what you get. We had a pizza, a salad and a set menu. The set menu cost 5500 and includes an appetizer, a small soup, a small bowl of rice and as a main dish three mushrooms and a bit of fish. All the food is sooo fatty, I had a stomachache afterwards. Also, there is a service charge and they still ask you for a tip, which is not usual in Japan and clearly made this seem like a tourist trap.
Also, the music is on super loud and before entering there is a very unfriendly sign, giving it a not very welcoming atmosphere

lovely staff - Edit
Staff are lovely. Meals are very expensive by Japan standards ($27Aud for a burger). The meal was nice, miso sauce and chips were nice. Yuzu icecream and muffins nice. the burger wasn’t anything special but it is very hard to find vegan food in this area.

Lovely staff and delicious food - Edit
Not sure why this place has such low ratings. I ate here tonight with my family and the food was amazing. We ate creative vegan versions of fish and meat with delicious flavours. The staff were super sweet and spoke very good English. Would recommend trying the set menu for variety. A bit on the pricier side but worth it to support one of the very few vegan friendly places in Kanazawa.

Very expensive and average food - Edit
We decided to eat here because we couldn’t find any open vegan places. We ordered a veggie burger which supposedly contained truffle and a Japanese-style scrambled tofu with rice. The burger tasted ok, but it definitely didn’t taste like truffle at all, it only cost like it. Also, I believe the patty was made with rice, so I can’t really explain how the burger could cost 2380 yen. The scrambled tofu was good, but nothing mind-blowing, the rice was a bit bland. However, the dessert was a big disappointment. We spent around 1600 yen for a parfait which consisted of two small scoops of fruit sorbet, with a tiny dollop of cream, one small strawberry cut in half and a slice of banana, most of which was peel (yes, peel). I guess the price can be explained by the fact that they sprinkled some edible gold on it (totally unnecessary in my opinion). Finally, we also ordered one soft drink to share (that also being quite pricey) and, unlike they usually do in Japan, they didn’t bring us any free water. The staff was nice to us and the place was nice too, but not enough to compensate the food and the price. On the whole, I wouldn’t recommend unless it was your only option. I’ve been to many vegan places in Japan and I’ve eaten much better food for a third of the price.

Fancy vegan meal - Edit
Very good place for a vegan/vegetarian date but not for a regular meal, the menu is quite expensive. The staff really knows and understand what veganism is and the chef is great, I just don't understand the price, especially when the omni full course menu is half the price of the vegan one.

Disappointing and Expensive - Edit
While this place does offer a large number of vegetarian and vegan options - the food quality is very average and overpriced. An example would be approx. ¥3200 for vegetable tempura which we’ve had better elsewhere.
Read moreThe welcome was instead a barrage of rules such as cash only, no photos and notice of a ¥550 cover charge per person.
It’s a good option for those who can’t find any other vegetarian/vegan places open but shouldn’t be anyone’s first choice. It very much felt like it was exploiting dietary requirements for financial gain.
Pros: Friendly staff, Lots of vegan/vegetarian options
Cons: Overpriced food, Being thrust a list of rules on arrival , Cover charge for mediocre food

Very pricey, seems to be catered to tourists - Edit
We went to this restaurant yesterday but did not eat there. The menus that can be found online do not seem to be up to date anymore. The prices were really high. About 2500¥ for a main course 500¥ cover charge per person. They do not allow taking pictures without prior permission. I would really appreciate if one could view the prices before entering the restaurant.
Read moreThey also had a giant tip jar in the front of the restaurant. I personally found that quite off-putting for a restaurant in Japan.

For the price, nothing amazing - Edit
I got the special menu plate- I decided on the salt cider (which is actually amazing), soy tuna rice, which was pretty good, and for a main course, rice with maitake tempura. The tempura was super oily and not very flavorful. I also got a matcha tart for dessert and that was pretty good.
Read moreThe next morning I went to go pick up a muffin, but they were out. I decided to eat breakfast there. I got a vegan omelette rice dish, that was pretty good. It came with pumpkin soup and fried potatoes, which were really good. It came with deep fried mushrooms on top, but again they were super oily and bland. So maybe steer clear of the deep fried menu items here and you’ll have a good experience!
The staff here are super nice!
