FANTASTIC vegan food - must not miss - Edit
Tons of vegan options, all clearly marked "vegan" - and every one of them is creative and enticing. VERY Fun and funky atmosphere. Just went for the first time but will definitely be back. We shared two entrees and both were over-the-top hearty. One was a huge sandwich on grilled bun with a zippy coleslaw on the side. It's called "Truly, Madly, Beetly" made with Pickling spiced beet spread, spinach, caraway rye seitan, Daiya fricco, spicy 1000 island dressing & pickled veggies. The other item was a brunch special and it was a GIANT wrap containing an amazing combination of ingredients - I can't find it online because it was a special but I know it had tempeh in it and it was sensational. (On Sundays, The restaurant adds brunch items to its usual menu) This place is not to be missed. If it was a vegan restaurant it would absolutely have five stars.

Cute place w lots of vegan options - Edit
Loved this place! Started with a pesto/bruschetta type of toast that was AMAZING, it couldn’t of been better. Then had the vegan Mac w barbecue style jack fruit. The waitress was very nice and down to earth. I also had a blueberry cocktail that was very refreshing.

So many vegan options - Edit
Silly’s has a ton of vegan options, though it is not the healthiest vegan joint around (lots of oil and such). Definitely worth it, though! The layer bar was seriously amazing.

Awesome vegan friendly place! - Edit
This is seriously super affordable and the portions are huge, super yummy food! The manager there once told me that the owner just really wants everyone to be able to eat when I thanked them for having such great vegan options! I've only ever had great experiences there. Oh AND vegan brunch (that isn't oatmeal) AND vegan Bloody Mary's ! This place is a treasure, great place to bring friends and everyone leaves stuffed, happy and with leftovers!

Greasy comfort food - Edit
As another reviewer mentioned this place is good if you're interested in greasy comfort food. My friends and I ordered the fried pickles and nachos as an appetizer. The pickles were very greasy but good and the nachos were a little burnt and all they had were daiya cheese on them and a side of salsa. I also got a falafel wrap which was ok, very burned and hard to eat as their were hard bits in it. Fries are yummy! My friend got a pizza which she said was good not great, and my other friend got a veggie burger which she said was very bland and only okay. I got a vegan milkshake and that shake was the highlight of my trip to sillys! So dang delicious! A little suspicious that it was vegan though as we had a new waitress who checked multiple times with us on what we ordered and after I had the milkshake my tummy felt very upset. The vibe of the restaurant is good, theres trivia cards at each desk, some games to bring to the table at the front entrance. Parking is street, like most places in Portland.

Greasy Comfort Food - Edit
Clearly labeled vegan and vegetarian options, also has GF options well labeled. Great if you're looking for old school diner food that's cruelty free... but be forewarned that there's no whole foods focus, here. Heavy on the oil and processed substitutes. And hey, sometimes that hits the spot... but I usually end up leaving feeling like the food was too heavy to enjoy. Also worth noting that while they have brunch, there are no pancakes, and you'll often see people at nearby tables ordering the famous "bowl of bacon".

Very Happy - Edit
Sooo... Vegan bloody Mary?! Yes please! This place is a vegan must! I've never been let down here and in fact when eating out this is the go-to place simply because of the amount of vegan options! I had the Curry events wrap which was amazing. I also had this flat bread pizza that I guess they recently took off the menu.

Lots of options - Edit
This place has a casual, diner-like vibe. They feature a huge number of vegan and vegetarian offerings, all of which are clearly labeled on the menu. The service was a bit slow during our visit, but perhaps this should be expected given the overflowing Saturday night crowd. The portions are generous and the food is good, albeit not exceptional. This is a great place to go with a group, especially since they have a wide variety of options that will satisfy vegans and omnis alike. One disappointing feature is that they charge extra for vegan substitutions. For some items, it is just 50 cents or so, which I can deal with. But their vegan milkshakes cost nearly 40% more than their dairy counterparts, which seems a bit steep and unwelcoming to vegan clientele.

Best Place in Portland! - Edit
We brought a group of 7 people from very picky chain meat eaters to us equally picky farm-to-table vegans and everyone enjoyed themselves at this place! AMAZING selection of vegan options, but plenty of meat and vegetarian options for the rest of your party! Whether you have a mixed company of eaters or not, everyone will find something delicious at this place!
Read moreEven the non-vegans tasted the vegan cake slices we got for dessert and were blown away!
If I wasn't limited to 4 stars for a rating due to it not being exclusively vegetarian I would give it more - it was that good!
Pros: Deadly vegan desserts options!!!, Outstanding menu selection, Great portion sizes
Cons: On street parking only, Tight for larger parties but they fit us

Near perfection - Edit
I adore Silly's for so many reasons. As a person with a family who cannot bear the thought of eating vegan/vegetarian, this is a place that we can all agree to go to when they visit. There are many wonderful vegan options here (fantastic falafel, great fried pickles with a vegan sauce, awesome veggie burgers, desserts and more) along with many meat dishes to choose from. This is a great place to go if you're having a craving for food that might not be very good for you, though. They certainly serve greasy bar-style food but it is quite tasty!
Read moreThe atmosphere is also veeeery cool; the decorations make the restaurant look like one big party. The waiters and waitresses (there are certainly more of the latter) are usually very nice. I've only had one encounter with a waitress being very unfriendly.
Pros: Delicious vegan meals!, Many options for non-veges, Fun atmosphere
Cons: Not healthy, but that's okay sometimes!

Should have ordered the pizza... - Edit
Based on the previous reviews, I probably hit Silly's up on a bad day.
Read moreI was really excited for Silly's because it had a wide variety of food and vegan shakes. My Elvis shake was a little warm and not very thick. I ordered a wrap with tofu. It came out wrapped in waxed paper with no plate. The BBQ sauce on my wrap leaked out of the paper and went all over the table. The boyfriend's Tofu in a Dingy had a hair in it. The food didn't wow me. I found it a bit on the bland side.
My non-veggie friend ordered pizza. That looked delicious. She really enjoyed her meal.
If I am ever in the area again, I would skip the wraps and go straight for the pizza and splurge on dessert.
We dined on the patio. There were lots of interesting things to look at. I loved how there were theme bathrooms: one was wine and another was beer. When I asked where they were, I was told I had a choice haha. I love novel things like that.
Pros: inexpensive, fun atmosphere, friendly staff
Cons: food was bland

I ate so much when I came to Silly's I though I would explode. All in a good way of course. Silly's is the coolest restaurant in the whole world. I went twice on my trip to Portland. You can put a slice of cake in a shake, vegan of course. Also they have pizza with sweet potato on it (my fav veggie).I don't think it gets any better than that.

Silly's is my favorite! - Edit
Silly's has an incredible atmosphere, phenomenal food, and great decor! The staff is friendly and down to earth, and the food options are impeccable. It's a fantastic restaurant because it has equally delicious options for vegans, vegetarians, and meat-eaters alike. Everything is fresh and full of flavor. My favorite vegan dishes are the Hashpipe Burrito and the Vegan Meltaway (among many others!). Also, during the summer, the outside seating is a must! It's funky, beautiful and fun. I definitely recommend Silly's to anyone in the Portland area, no matter your food lifestyle!

Great food, reasonably priced, cool atmosphere - Edit
Highly recommend visiting Silly's. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had the chili and then ordered a side of beans/rice, which they made despite not being on the menu. The chili was excellent. My wife had the veggie burger, which she described as "great!" Happycow does not allow a rating of more than 4 cows for a non-vegetarian restaurant, otherwise I would have gave them the full 5.

I love the outdoor seating area, so cute and fun to play cards(poker) while waiting for our food. Can get a little too loud inside. I have been there several times and it is great they have so many vegan options. I really like their pizzas, try the garbanzo crust. Their burgers I find boring and too dry. Their tofu in a dingy is good, the KaaNoodling is good but could need some more sauce. Their sweet potato fries are also very good. Try the vegan Cocoa Doodle-Doo for dessert, really yummi. Staff is very nice too.

Silly's has a ton of veg options, and they have nice outdoor seating in their funky backyard in good weather. Fun atmosphere. Their "Tempeh Of Doom" is excellent, along with their "Rest In Pizza" which is spicy and delicious, and now comes with Daiya melted on top ! The vegan pesto bread is also scrumptious.

Good and friendly service. - Edit
Felt there were two ingredients missing from the chimi but then again it wasn't a Mexican restaurant, it was delicious regardless. the dining area is small and social, liked that, felt like home. The waitress was very friendly, seemed to enjoy her job and was very attentive. the menu was full of interesting choices which will make me go back when in Portland. was with a party of four and played a round of cribbage before the meal, that was a good touch as well. this place is what I seek when dining, fun atmosphere, good food and friendly waitstaff. was good start of a fun evening before a Phish show.

Silly's is a great place, and everyone I know loves going there, vegetarians/vegans/meat eaters alike. I haven't been there since the summer, but according to another review there is a whole separate vegan menu now! I'll have to check that out!
Read moreIt's a really fun place, they have a deck of cards on every table to play while you wait, and there are board games on shelves that you can grab and play. Always fun music. They have a vegan pizza (it's pretty good, no soy cheese though, just sauce and veggies), and a great vegan pesto pasta dish that I usually get. They also have some great wraps (they have awesome hummus). In the summer I love eating outside in the yard.
Pros: fun wacky place, good vegan food, sometimes has vegan deserts
