Labelled vegan dishes include a vegetable pie with creamed potatoes and vegetables, fresh daily soup and bread, minced bean chilli, fruit crumble and ice cream. Open Mon-Sat 10:00-23:00, Sun 10:00-22:00.

Tourist scam

I'm sorry I can only give one star since our expectations were pretty high after reading the positive reviews here. But it wasn't a pleasant experience. There weren't many vegan choices, only a burger and a curry, so we went for the lentil curry. It was a tiny portion and the taste was below average. It was basically just a scoop of lentil stew- for 17 pounds! And as If this was 't expensive enough, there's an additional 10% service fee added to the bill, which was justified if the service had been extraordinary- but it wasn't.

Delicious vegan food in a fantastic old inn

Delicious seasonal menus, with options clearly marked as “vegan” or “can be vegan”. Gorgeous old inn, with a cosy welcoming atmosphere.

(One for Harry Potter fans too! It appeared in Half-Blood Prince when visiting Slughorn.)

Pros: Varied delicious vegan options, Fantastic building and atmosphere, Friendly service
