Cons: Non parlano inglese

Noodles at a great price! - Edit
Super tasty, large portions, clean and vegan, what's not to like, would recommed! Not where indicated on the map, though, but fairly nearby

So Yum but not in indicated location - Edit
Massive bowl of noodles. Use the phrase mentioned in the review below to indicate Buddhist and no meat and egg. That’s all I needed to order.

delicious biáng biáng - Edit
Just went here couple of times while in XiAn. Great place to try the local biáng biáng noodles.
Read moreYou can order some for just 12 Yuan. I think by default the dish is vegan, but just in case I showed the line: ‘我是佛教徒,只吃素,我不能吃肉也不能吃鸡蛋’ ー which says that I’m buddhist and that I don’t eat meat/eggs.
The kitchen is open, so you can see how they elaborate the noodles.
The bowls are huge.
Anyway, please make sure to go here and enjoy a classic Shaanxi dish!
Pros: cheap, local cuisine

Biggest bowl of noodles of my life - Edit
Not only are the noodles a large portion, but the bowl itself is insane! No exaggeration, it's bigger than a fruit bowl!
Read moreOnce you've ordered, be sure to watch them assemble the bowls in the open kitchen, it's mesmerizing as they chuck the ingredients together topped with sizzling oil!
We showed them a little card, explaining veganism in English and Chinese which the lady seemed to understand. If I'm not mistaken the 12 yuan biang biang noodles are vegan as they are (without adding an egg which costs 1 yuan anyway, so you'd have to accidentally order it haha).
Give them a good mix up and dig in, they are super tasty! We also ordered the smashed cucumbers which was refreshing and slightly pickled.
EDIT AFTER SECOND VISIT:
We didn't show our little vegan translation card and was asked if we wanted pork / meat with our dish, so be sure to say you're veggie / don't eat meat so they can make a note on your order to omit whatever it is they add. I also asked if the hot broth in the kettles were veggie and THEY ARE NOT. Don't drink the kettle broth! Haha

Tasty garlic spicy-ish noodles! - Edit
I agree with all of the reviews for this place! Thank you to whoever added this on the vegan map😄the noodle portion is huge and filling and sooo tasty! It was nice to have garlic again after eating at veggie restaurants without garlic for a while! Someone gave good directions for this place. 10/10 recommend! It's not that spicy but a little! The broccoli and cucumber are also vegan!

Good, plentiful and cheap, but it was an adventure to find it. It is not where indicated in the map. I arrived late in the evening and the kitchen was closed. Two waitresses accompanied me to another restaurant and ordered vegetarian for me. Super recommended.

What a find! - Edit
Whoever put this on happycow - thank you! This was one of the best experiences in China. One big bowl of fresh noodles (enough for two if not super hungry), nicely spiced. You can watch the chefs making the pasta dough, cooking and assembling the noodle dish. I also double checked that it was vegan and that they don't use lard (used a translator app). Price: 12yuan only!

Noodles - Edit
The place looked good and was crowded, we had to sit with someone else.
Read moreYou get a number when you order noodles, and they call you later, so you need to be able to understand numbers in Chinese.
The noodles were very good, served in a huge bowl, and the side dishes were fresh. Everything was spicy (noodles, cucumber and lotus root(which were sweet and sour)).
One of the staff member was very helpful, he saw that one of us had difficulties to catch the noodles with the chopsticks so he brought us a ladle.
He could also speak a little English.

Make sure you specify no meat - Edit
Don't make the mistake I did. After reading other reviews I assumed there was a vegetarian option on the menu, so I asked for that. However it came with a big pile of minced meat on it. I tried to eat around but then a local came and mixed it all together for me. The bowls are huge and very low prices. You have to go pay on the right hand side and get a ticket with an order number which they will shout out (in chinese). The the location is best found using the other reviewers screenshot

Delicious! - Edit
I used a translate app to tell them what I couldn’t eat (I don’t eat meat, fish, eggs or dairy. Is there something I can eat here?) and they pointed at the correct noodle bowl. We also ordered the cucumbers based on previous reviews. OMG! The bowls are huge, the noodles delicious. Two noodle bowls, a cucumber side and one beer is 39 FMB or about $5.50 USD. Highly recommend, we now have happy tummies.

Good noodles, great cucumbers and great value - Edit
Cool chance to try a local dish, great value. People were adding whole garlic cloves to noodles which we did, as well as chili oil from the bar near the kitchen. The teapots don’t actually contain tea but starch broth… that is what those small bowls are for. I’d pass on it. The garlic cucumber side dish is amazing, possibly my favorite even over the noodles. It’s a huge portion so come hungry. Confirmed at the cash register that the basic 12 yuan noodles were meat free (though we don’t speak any Chinese so take with a grain of salt, the dish does look vegan and I don’t see the possibility of meat being added - no broth or anything either).
