We looked up to see why our reservation for this location had been canceled and it looks like seed made a public Instagram post two days ago closing their doors for good. So sad!! 💔

Best vegan restaurant in NOLA - Edit
Everything here is phenomenal. Went here twice because it was that good!! Upscale vegan food with a really chic ambiance. The tofu bao buns and the cauliflower Katsu sandwich were amazing!!! Great drinks, great presentation, really excellent.

Very delicious! - Edit
I went there with a group of friends and we all loved our food! I can really recommend the tofu bites and the Beignets. However, the waiter made us feel so unwelcomed that I cannot give 5 stars which I usually don't do, because everyone has bad days but that just actually made me want to leave.

Highly Disappointed - Edit
Out of everything I ordered only the Southern Fried Nuggets were good. They had lots of breading (which I like) with great flavor.
Read moreThe Southern Fried Po’boy is the fried nuggets on a bun. The bread was very thick and dry - basically inedible. I ended up just eating the fried nuggets by themselves.
Chickpea Salad sandwich was dry (even with the mayo) and very earthy tasting.
Beignets were very dry and rubbery.
Cheesecake was neither good nor sweet.
After reading everyone else’s raving reviews, I believe that I must have just gone on an off day. The employee working that day was extremely rude and unwelcoming.

Amazing Vegan Food - Edit
We ordered delivery via Uber eats, so I can’t comment on the place itself. What I can comment on is the food!! It was amazing!! We ordered 4 entrees and they were all top notch. If you are in New Orleans, give this place a try. You will not be disappointed! #Veganuary

INCREDIBLE! - Edit
Seed was the first place I went to eat when I arrived in New Orleans, and it's going to be hard to beat! I actually don't know if I want to go anywhere else because it was THAT good.
Read moreSeth greeted me when I walked in, and was so friendly. I asked him what his favorite menu item was, and he told me that it was the Tofu "Pork Belly" Bao. So, I ordered that, along with the Chips & Cashew Queso.
Everything was so, so delicious. The tofu was the crispiest I've ever had, and the blend of the flavors was amazing.
It's probably worth noting that I have COVID-19 Long Haul and my taste has been muted for over a year now. There are many things that I cannot taste well, but I could taste EVERYTHING I ordered at Seed, which was really just incredible and so exciting.
For dessert, I ordered the Banana Sundae, which was a great way to cap off the meal.
I will absolutely be back before I depart New Orleans, and I can't recommend this restaurant enough!
Pros: Creative, delicious menu items, Soothing, lovely atmosphere, Friendly staff

plant based nola taste - Edit
their slogan says it all! as i said in one of my other reviews, i love travelling and living like a local, so i was STOKED to find an all vegan place where i could eat cajun, creole, and just all around nola. it's not super cheap, but totally worth it. i remember the portions being massive and delicious! beignets (yummy!), gumbo, etouffee, jambalaya, i could not recommend enough! went back twice during my stay to support a small joint that's all vegan, and to eat some really good food!

Used to be great - Edit
I used to LOVE Seed but the last time I went the menu was SAD compared to what it used to be. There used to be so many yummy options but now its just like fake fancy options which imo is lame in comparison.

Fun spot. - Edit
Tacos were really good, but small (they warned us and the price wasn't bad at all though). The lentil and parsnip puree dish was not my favorite and kind of bitter? Beignets and cocktails were awesome. Fun atmosphere and really nice server. She was super acknowledging of my partner's nut allergy and double-checked everything!

Huge apps and sides - Edit
Seriously the apps and sides could be their open meals. Being the gluttonous vacationers that we are we ordered entirely too much food and ate it all. Incredibly delicious and a great variety of choices. You are sure to be impressed.

Flavorful - Edit
I had the mushroom tostadas. They were flavorful and definitely had some kick to them. I had the carrot cake for dessert, it wasn’t the freshest tasting cake I had ever had. I would definitely go back again, but I’d probably skip dessert. I thought the food was a good value for the money

Good brunch spot - Edit
Recommend? Yes. Cute spot for brunch.
Read moreThere were two of us and we were starving so we got quite a few dishes. By the end of dinner we were glad we ordered as much as we did.
We got a drink which was sense and sensibility. For food we got tofu nuggets, mushroom gumbo, cheese fries, artichoke falafel, noodle salad, tofu bao, and beignets.
Sense and sensibility doesn't have any grapefruit in it, but it tasted like it did.
Tofu nuggets had a really good batter and delicious sweet mustard.
Mushroom gumbo was definitely not what I consider gumbo and it was a bit on the salty side.
Cheese fries were good, nothing outstanding.
Noodle salad was super refreshing.
Tofu bao was my second favorite, my first favorite being the tofu nuggets. The tofu had a good hardy crunch and a bit on the sweet side. The bao bun had a twist to it, it was fried. The pickled veggies made the bao not too heavy.
The beignets weren't as good as I would like. The batter itself isn't too sweet and it's not as fluffy as I would like. It was served with what appeared to be a coconut sauce.

Quiet (and delicious) side of Nola - Edit
What a great find! My partner and I shared the chips & queso, tofu buns, mushroom gumbo and beignets. It was the perfect amount of food for the two of us and everything was delicious. The buns were the best vegan buns I’ve ever had - the tofu was cooked perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside yet not greasy. The gumbo was amazing- very rich and satisfying. And what a special treat to get to indulge in beignets while visiting New Orleans😄The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. I highly recommend this place. It’s about a 30-min walk from where we stayed in the French Quarter and totally worth it.

Loved it! Can’t wait to go again! - Edit
I went to Seed a few years ago when I visited NOLA for the first time and loved it! It was so yummy and I loved being able to try the classic Southern comfort foods. I’m so happy to see it’s still there and can’t wait to go back whenever I visit NOLA in the future!
