Worth a visit but a bit pricey - Edit
We were grateful to find a table here twice without a reservation. It’s 90% vegan and it’s a shame they don’t just go 100%! The food is very nice, but you don’t feel like you’re getting amazing value - e.g. the €14.50 ramen was just one of those €0.50 packs of instant noodles, two tiny pieces of tofu and a couple of vegetables in broth. We had a much more substantial meal at nearby Rota’s for a similar price. The vegan chocolate mousse dessert makes it worth a visit!

Wholesome dishes, friendly staff - Edit
I showed up here twice without a reservation (it’s summer on São Miguel and you always need a reservation for popular restaurants!!) and they did what they could to accommodate me!
Read moreFood was really wholesome—I would categorize this as extremely elevated home cooked meals—that is well seasoned, flavorful, and creative! I had the zucchini carpaccio, mushroom parmigiana, seitan steak, and chocolate mousse. All were really delicious. If I had had more days here I would have definitely come back to try more things on the menu!
Almost everything could be veganized (and veganized well; they even have vegan cheese).
Staff were really friendly and accommodating. It’s a really nice comfy place and I can recommend to any veggie or vegan (:
If you are coming in the summer I would suggest making a reservation, especially if you are a big group (this rings true for ANY restaurant, actually…)

Read moreWe went there twice on our stay. The first time we ordered starters, the mushroom ragu and the seitan steak. Everything was super delicious and in very reasonable quantities.
The second time we ordered starters again, the risotto and the ramen. This time the food was just okay. The ramen needed a bit more flavor and the risotto was not enough quantity wise (even though very tasty). That’s why I’m giving the review 4 stars instead of 5, especially because it is a bit pricey.
Pros: Breaded mushroom (starter), Friendly staff, Lots of options
Cons: A bit pricey, Low quantity in some dishes, Not all dishes were equally flavorful

Best vegan food - Edit
Extremely delicious vegan and vegetarian food. You have to try the santa francesinha and the seitan steak. We loved it so much we ended up eating here every day during our stay so we tried the whole menu.

Every item on the menu can be made vegan and also they have tasty desserts, the mango cheesecake was my favourite.

Stopped by for the menu of the day that consisted of a soup, vegetables with rice and salad and tea. Good in terms of quantity and price (10 euros). Plate could do with some protein serving. Taste was good. Service was a bit slow but friendly. Lots of tables.

We arrived at a full restaurant on a monday night and had to wait a bit for seat. While the server was very busy, she happily took the time to explain the menu to us. Food was served quickly.

Listing needs updating as this is a restaurant and not a takeaway so that is misleading. Would recommend making a reservation, though we were able to go back later and get a table. Great food, good menu, lots of vegan options.

I loved the place from the moment i entered the restaurant. Even though there are no possibilities to sit outside and the inside is not really beautiful,...., the waitress was so amiable and the service absolutly friendly and perfect. As starters we had fried mushrooms (i dreamt of it the night after🥰) and something familiar to vegan sushi. As mains we chose the seitan and the risotto. And we definitely did not regret! Thanx for the great dinner!

We went to this little Restaurant pretty much without any expectations and we got served a huge taste explosion! The dishes are made with lots of love and on one hand as plain as possible and on the other very extraordinary and creative. We‘ll definetly be back to try all the other dishes 😍 The Service was also very friendly!

They have 2 vegan starters and 2 mains which were both really good! Big portions for a good price and really friendly staff😄Thought has gone in to the dishes, lots of flavour and creativity. The vegetarian dishes could possibly be vegan without the cheese aswell, but enough choice otherwise. Highly recommend if you are looking for a great vegan option in Ponta Delgada.

Nice restaurant in the centre of Ponta Delgada. They have a lot of vegan options that sound good on the menu but are quite simple and not so tasty in the end. I think there’s room for improvement. The desserts are really good. We had cheesecake and black chocolate and pineapple pie.

Ok, since One of the few vegan options - Edit
Notoriously its difficult in São Miguel to eat vegan out (has improved though in the recent years!) so I was grateful to have Santo Seitan as an option. The staff is super attentive, friendly, sympathetic and helpful - thats a big plus! However there are a few minus points:
Read more- I‘ve made a reservation 2 days ahead and arrived, getting literally the table next to the toilets… bit of a no go for me (considering the reservation and the restaurant wasn‘t full…)
- we came around 8pm and they were sold out on about 80% of the main courses, that was disappointing
- there was none of the vegan deserts everyone was writing about
- we had to wait for our food way too long
All in all ok, but definitely could be improved

I had the pesto corgetti which was great with an iced tea. I also got a pineapple chocolate dessert to takeaway. Really enjoyed my meal. Went close to opening time and got a table no problem. Went back for a second time and got the same cake which was amazing and the filo pastry with veg, rice and cashew nuts. This time I was able to get a takeaway. I also ordered a why not drink. Everything was great!
