Generous portions, great food - Edit
Huge menu with so many delicious-sounding options. Try the buffalo cauliflower if you don’t know where to start😄high priced, but worth it, and the serve staff are super nice.

A little overpriced - Edit
Sage has delicious vegan comfort food, but honestly it’s a little pricey for what it is which is why I just give it four stars. For example their milkshakes (which are great but literally just coconut ice cream and a dairy free milk) are $11 each.

Everything was delicious! - Edit
Definitely recommend coming here! Extensive menu, all vegan. They’re also a brewery that has a great beer and kumbucha list. It was a bit pricey so be prepared for that. It will be one of my first stops when I’m back in LA

SAGE IS FOR COMFORT FOOD - Edit
The menu is not really imaginative given the caliber of raw and vegan restaurants in Los Angeles. Its also heavy on stodgy comfort food

The place is amazing. The pizzas are so good. We had the heirloom tomatoes and garlic, MacNCheese, and Mexican. Each one was so delicious. We also had the ice cream sandwich with fresh made chocolate chip cookie and raspberry swirl ice cream, also yummy. going back for breakfast now. Highly recommend it.

Great Food! - Edit
The atmosphere and food were great. 4 Stars because of the pricing. The GF pretzels, GF Mac n cheese ball, and the orange “chicken” were amazing! Portion sizes were alright, just a little small for the amount you receive. The service is awesome and everyone there is very friendly. The GF brownie sundae for dessert was to die for. Would definitely recommend to anyone and will be returning.

Great place, Fun vibes - Edit
INCREDIBLE! My husband brought me here as a treat and wow!!!
Read moreAll organic, all vegan, very fun vibe. The buffalo cauliflower pizza was incredible, along with the butternut squash raviolis and the jalapeño poppers (I love spicy, they were delicious, but not too spicy for the average mouth).
Service was wonderful. Wish I'd saved room for dessert - it looked delicious!

The tuna melt was good, the nachos with cashew cheese and mole were great.
Read moreUnfortunately the service made us feel rushed, the bus boys were yelling and swearing across the whole place, which didn't help the vibe. I understand that a place can be busy and loud, but it shouldn't be noise created by the staff.

This was the first location that my friend took me to before discovering that there was another location in Pasadena. Personally I enjoyed all of the food that was ordered, and got to try a whole variety of their foods here since there was 4 of us.

Totally decent ice cream - Edit
This is a review of just the ice cream. It's totally decent, and not too expensive -- $3 for a single scoop. A little crystally but it's cool that it's raw.

Some of the worst plant-based food I have eaten - Edit
Quite simply - poorly executed food. Perhaps the dishes can be good, I have to think that looking at the reviews and hearing people rave about it. But I thought the big menu was filled with terrible dishes. The soggy chilli fries were slopping on the plate, the plantain was tasteless and reheated, the mac n cheese was cold, the cauliflower was ok but really nothing special and I could go on. I was so surprised - I have eaten at so many vegan restaurants and given the hype I thought this would be one of the best - quite the opposite. Love to think it was an off night but given how bad it was, I will not be giving it another go. There was no love in the food. Lovely staff. I hope this review gives them a kick up the rear, they need it!!!

First Impression - Edit
This is probably one of the best vegan spots in LA. I wouldn't be surprised to find some of the most talented culinary profiles behind this spot. I absolutely loved the raw cheesecake on every single level and the peanut butter chocolate was almost as amazing despite getting a tiny slice through postmates and it being my birthday. :( The Spicy Avocado Mac seemed pretty brilliant despite the experimental feel of the combination of flavors. I really loved the consistency of the noodles and the cheese sauce and I'd never thought to add Avocado with the spicy that was pretty awesome but I'd suggest ordering something else off the menu if it's your first time there! It was also cold by the time it got to me but I was staying in DTLA for the afternoon. The whole menu looks so interesting and eclectic so I KNOW I'll be here frequently. Can't wait to see it in person and I'm really happy they included vegan in their name. Keep up the amazing work Sage!!!

no stars for this fake vegan place - Edit
We walked inside and I asked to sit at the bar.
Read moreAfter 5 min someone walk us over. I asked if we can have cushions because the bar seats and all the other seats are just steal no cushions at all. She said yea sure and walked away. After 10 min I asked can I have the cusions please? She said NO. Just like that no. No explanation why or why she couldn't come over and tell me that? Very rude staff...... no more sage. We went to Au lac instead way better then this fake vegan place.
Ohh and while we are waiting for the cushions they serve us beer with f@@$$@ Honey. And I aksed him before there is no honey in the beer right? He says no. I drink it and it taste like [censored] and honey wtf........ the dude was nice at least on nice stafd member but incompetent
Pros: they have some vegan food overpriced
Cons: very expansive for poor quality

Best breakfast in town - Edit
What can I say other than...DELICIOUS!! Everything I've tried here has been amazing. I can't speak for the service as I've only ordered food to go or through Grub Hub/Uber Eats. One of my personal favorites is the chia French toast. It has a outer crunch but the bread inside is still fresh and soft. It's sweet enough that you don't even need syrup. My husband loved the chilaquiles. I don't recommend these for take out as the chips don't travel well (they become mush) but the flavors were on point! I also really enjoyed the tempeh sausage florentine. The hollandaise sauce was so good! It paired really well with the tempeh, avocados and tomato. The biscuits came on the side and I was actually happy about that. It prevented them from getting mushy. I, personally, didn't care for the biscuit itself but my husband loved it all combined. I also love their BLTA breakfast sandwich. It's tempeh bacon with lettuce, tomato and avocado on a croissant! So yummy with the Dijon spread! Their breakfast potatoes are also pretty great! Seasoned and crisped perfectly!

Overrated food and service below par - Edit
I was far from impressed with Sage. Both service and food aren't great.
Read moreWe called ahead and were advised reservations weren't possible for tables of less than 6 - far enough. When we arrived, we waited for a table and were told they restaurant needed the table back in 45 mins because of a reservation (?!). In fact, every other guest was told the same. Clearly, the restaurant is just wanting to turn the tables as quick as possible. If they want to do that, then fine but be honest about it! This gave us a really negative first impression.
We both found the food offerings really average. Way too greasy and oily. I had the Molé Bowl, which tasted ok but was a bit dull. Didn't taste fresh and flavourful, which is what I had hoped for.
One other thing was the noise from the juicing / ice-cream counter. Some of the equipment they use is ridiculously loud, which marred the experience further.
Overall, Sage is somewhere I'd seek to avoid because it's so average. Makes food for the $ sign and not for the customer.
Cons: no reservations , greasy food, dining room too noisy

AMAZING - Edit
This place is amazingly delicious. Brought my non vegan boyfriend and both of us were in awe. He had the red white and blue pancakes and I had the BLTA - was curious to try a vegan croissant. Both were amazing and we were STUFFED. I also replaced the roasted potatoes with sweet potatoes. DO IT! They are incredible! The weekday breakfast menu is smaller than the weekend one - just FYI.
